The Smokin' Buddha

As a newly diagnosed celiac, I am finding it difficult to eat out. The Smokin’ Buddha had great gluten free options and made me feel heard about my dietary restrictions/cross-contamination. There were many choices for me and the food is absolutely amazing!! Thank you to this restaurant for understanding, and for going above and beyond for the celiac population!

First time at this restaurant as a Celiac. Delicious menu with many gluten free options. A lot of gluten free entrees available. I had the pad Thai and really enjoyed it.

Spoke to the restaurant owner who was very friendly and welcoming. I was able to confirm the kitchen understood celiac and took the appropriate precautions to avoid contamination. Kitchen was open concept so I could also watch them cook which was nice!

Note: The gluten free menu items are labelled with an asterisk on the menu (*) which made it a little confusing. I accidentally ordered an appetizer that wasn’t gluten free because of this! I caught it in time and the restaurant owner spoke to me about the mix up. I suggested a change of symbol to a more universally recognized gluten free symbol on the menu if it is ever updated. Be aware of this when ordering so you make sure the items you select are gluten free!

I’d definitely come back here again - amazing service and a great meal.

Indoor/outdoor seating in summer and fall. Delicious, freshly made Asian/East Indian GF options clearly marked on menu. Green and yellow curries, pad Thai, many other Indian dishes GF. Fish cakes, spinach dip, salsa GF appetizers. Sautéed bananas or chocolate molten lava are GF dessert options. Make reservations on weekends. Amazing!
