The Village

I hosted a brunch for 35 people here the day after my wedding. The food was EXCELLENT, even though we didn't realize it was all plant-based until we arrived! They have a ton of GF options and the staff was great about handling it. I had the waffle sandwich and loved it, no reaction. Husband had the huevos rancheros and I got to try them because they were also GF. The only thing I was nervous about was the horchata since it uses rice, so ordered the jamaica drink instead. Would definitely go back!

We ate here twice and the food was delicious each time. GF corn chips and salsa for starters. We had mole enchiladas, wet tostadas, “fish” tacos and a brunch waffle sandwich. All gluten free and plant based. They work wonders with flavors and textures. The fish tacos were coconut battered and fried. So so good. The raspberry lemonade is also great. The servers were knowledgeable about celiac and personable. Many items on the menu are gf and identified as such. We will be back every time we come to San Diego!

The owner of this large establishment with plenty of parking has made it her mission to develop lovely gluten free, and vegan options. The shrimp tacos are otherworldly. The service is great and really everything we’ve tried so far has been quite good. Like the shrimp tacos! 😄

They also do good sushi: try the Village Roll. Guacamole is delicious as are the made in house chips and salsa (ten out of ten). Everything is fresh and tasty.

Had high expectations after reading reviews and this place didn't disappoint. Had chips and salsa and went for the Japanese menu with the calamari and two rolls which were delicious. Almost everything on both japanese and Mexican menus was GF. Will definitely be back.

Great vegan food with lots of GF options. It felt very safe for my celiac girl here. Even their standard soy sauce is gluten free. I had the mushroom fajitas which were amazing. Everything is fresh.

I had a chili relleno for the first time in decades. Gourmet quality food. I was in heaven. The whole menu is plant based so works for my need for dairy free. Almost the entire menu is gluten-free. They have a dedicated gluten-free fryer. It was so good I went back the next day with a friend. We had gluten-free fried ‘calimari’ that was excellent. Two different sushi rolls were also fabulous.

I cannot recommend highly enough.

Ordered edamame and enchiladas Verde, no issues after eating them. Waitress was aware I needed gluten free and made sure everything was safe. Items on the menu are clearly marked if they are gluten free and food was delicious.
