This was the best luau I have ever been to! The gluten free option is amazing, you just have to respond to the confirmation email requesting a gluten free meal! The food was incredible but the show and experience was amazing! It is truly a family experience with people of all ages involved and they do such an amazing job of providing such an extensive and beautiful education about the culture! Could not recommend this luau more!!!

Amazing luau experience!
When we registered, we received an email prompting us to email back with any dietary concerns. We did and then when we checked in on the day of they confirmed that we had one gluten-free plate. At this luau there is not a buffet, but each person is brought a prepared plate of food. The gluten free plate has no mac salad or roll, just extra salad. The chicken, pork, and rice with furikake are gluten free. There is also a fruit plate with coconut jello. There are gluten-free brownies available for purchase in the shop after the luau. I did not try those.
Otherwise, the luau was great. There was free time to participate in different cultural traditions like hula, coconut husking, and grass weaving. There was a long performance of dances from different islands in Polynesia. Each guest received a real flower lei and the ticket includes access to the botanical garden where the “theater” space is located. Amazing experience, highly recommend.

We had a fantastic time at this Luau. I emailed them ahead of time to reserve my GF meal and they were very nice and responsive. My meal came out separately from everyone else and the food was sooooo good! Everyone loved it! The Luau is also family owned and operated and it just had a special family feel to it!

This was a great luau! The food was wonderful! My gluten free plate was very similar to my gluten eating family. I didn’t feel cheated. Very family friendly luau.

The food at Tao Lua is tasty. Upon arrival, I shared I had celiac and needed a gluten free plate. The server asked if I pre-ordered and we did not. However she was able to accommodate. My plate had kalua pork, chicken with a glaze, rice and furikake, spring salad with a poppy seed dressing, and lomi lomi salmon. The side dish had fresh pineapple, papaya, grapes, and haupia (a coconut pudding). I really enjoyed everything and did not feel lacking for anything. I am extremely sensitive to gluten and did not have a reaction. On top of a great meal, the show was amazing this small family production is worth the time, money, and trip. We selected the silver seating and had the best seats in the house, table 14. Actually any seat in the house is great, it is a small, local production and I highly recommend Tao Luau!

Excellent experience here. I called before reserving to ask about gf and he told me to reply to my confirmation with the gf request. They have a buffet but they serve everyone a full plate first. My meal had pork, chicken, fresh salad, fruit, rice, and coconut flan (?) which served as my desert. It was a delicious meal and I had no bad effects at all. I’m very sensitive to even slight cross contamination so it was a good night! Also the entertainment was fabulous.
