Our favorite sushi place in the area. Several options and always has been safe for highly sensitive celiac. Gf soy sauce available as well

I’m a highly symptomatic Celiac and I’ve eaten here a number of times without having any trouble. It’s pretty good sushi, though the environment in the restaurant is a bit like a small cafeteria and gets very loud when it’s packed so it’s not a great place for ambiance and conversation.

not a ton of menu options but is (to my knowledge) the only sushi place in town that demarcates gluten free and their staff has always gone the extra mile to make sure orders are safe. love this place!

My go-to sushi in ann arbor!! always feel safe here and the rolls are great, especially spicy tuna and veggie caterpillar roll. love coming here whenever i’m craving sushi
Yes
Had a very good experience here. Server specified that the (normally served) miso soup and side salad were not gluten free, brought tamari out without being asked, plated the GF items our group ordered separately from the non-GF rolls, and even asked whether the dessert mints were gluten free (which I did not care at all about after the great meal!). Also very reasonably priced and not crowded for a weekend lunch.
They have so many gluten free options that are clearly marked. I had the veggie caterpillar roll and it was delicious. Excited to go back!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE. I even ordered seconds. Menu was clearly marked and as soon as I mentioned Celiacs they made sure to tell the person preparing my food. You also have the option of watching the sushi chef prepare your food if you would like. The server was even nice enough to list what was gluten-free or not on my husbands plate as well. They also have gluten-free soy sauce!
Yes
This is a restaurant what you will certainly love the food is tasty delectable ,your experience will be wonderful and the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable concerning gluten allergies their choices from the main entree that could be made gluten free using no soy sauce but bringing a gluten free soy to the table there are many sushi rolls that are also gluten free
Yes
They had gluten free items clearly marked on the menu, rare for a sushi restaurant. Server brought out a side salad without dressing (their dressing contains gluten) and a bottle of tamari with my meal.
I eat here maybe once a week and I've never gotten sick, and I'm a very sensitive Celiac. They have a well labeled menu and I eat often at the the bar and get to see the prep. They change gloves and use clean surfaces. The salad dressing and must soup contain gluten, so I get dressing-free salad and dress it up with GF tamari. The best aspect of Totoro is the people. They have the kindest servers, who know me well, and the owners are beyond courteous and welcoming.

I was surprised Totoro wasn't on here yet! They mark on their menu which rolls are GF. They have GF soy sauce if you ask. Our server was knowledgeable (she did not serve me the house dressing when I told her I had a gluten allergy. I used some of the aforementioned soy sauce instead). And I didn't get sick. These are the thing I look for when I go get sushi. Highly recommend.
