Have eaten here in the past, but this visit was super disappointing. I asked the server if I could get a taco salad without the tortilla bowl. He asked why, in kind of a rude tone of voice. I smiled and explained I had a food allergy (which is the only way I explain celiac at a restaurant…just not worth it). He proceeded to tell me to get it the way it comes because “it’s better that way.” I said that I understood, but really couldn’t - that it would make me very sick. He then rolled his eyes at me as I ordered another dish. My two girlfriends were shocked. I am super easy going and try to be extra polite with servers, bc I know gluten free can be a pain. This visit made me not want to come back! (For the record, I ordered a grilled chicken “bowl” - it was sitting in water - lettuce, rice, beans, etc. I ate what I could! Had potential to be really yummy.)

Server was very kind, went to kitchen to inquire about the dish I selected and asked if it was gluten free. Kitchen staff reported that it was (vegetarian enchiladas with spinach sauce). I was in fact, not “glutened”. Caveat: I do always take a Gluten Ease capsule when I eat out. It helps mediate the ramifications if I do get gluten🥴 I had no reaction here. There was however, a few bits of chicken in my vegetarian meal🥺. The kitchen is short staffed. I get it. Just a heads up to any vegetarians. Again, our server was incredibly nice.

We asked when we sat down if the chips were fried in a common fryer, and we were told that they indeed were. They do have corn tortillas that they assured us were gluten free and were understanding when we mentioned our sensitivity (and also egg allergies). When my meal arrived with flour tortillas, the waiter noticed before I did and assured that they would make an entirely new plate for me. We felt pretty safe eating here! They also provided individual portions of salsa so the non-gluten-free members of our party could eat their chips and we could still have salsa for the gluten-free folks in our party.
