Great food! More options than I have seen.
This was our favorite restaurant before our daughters celiac diagnosis, and we are thrilled we can eat here still! It is the only restaurant we trust as the owner has celiac and they have a completely separate kitchen. They are also fantastic about our son's milk allergy, and go out of their way to ensure a safe dinner for our whole family, which is a huge deal to us. Twigs is setting a precedent that more restaurants should take notice of.
Excellent food! Gluten free menu is phenomenal!
Why aren't there more than 5 stars?! This place was the best. So many choices. Owner had celiacs so they get the whole cross contamination issue. We had onion rings! First time in 6 years! Their burger buns are soft and tasty. Full gluten free menu. Appetizers, salads, soups, entrees, and desserts. You have to try this place :-)
Very good selection of GF items. Have eaten here several times and never gotten sick. Friendly and knowledgable staff.
Please, please open a second location in the Twin Cities area! Hands down the best gluten friendly restaurant I've ever l ever been to. (I got onion rings! I haven't had onion rings in three years!) Great ambience, kid friendly, and excellent food. Can't wait to go back!
One of the best gf restaurants I've ever been to. The owner is celiac and the gf menu is extensive. The sandwich bun is amazing-one of the best I've had. Great gf desserts. I will definitely eat here again while in Rochester.
Excellent gluten free menu that gave us the option of trying something we wouldn't make at home. My 9 year old asked three times if he could really have fish and chips...breaded and fried fish and chips! Great indulgence. We went early in the night (around 5) but the kids weren't out of place since it's also attached to the hotel.
Awesome! Of all my travels this is the best GF place that I've eaten at. Full (Appetizers, salads, sandwiches, entrees, and desserts) menu, great staff, beautiful place, and reasonably priced. I'm so thankful this is in my hometown and that I an eat there again!!
So many GF choices! My husband had meatloaf, I had fish & chips and the kids had burgers. Side of onion rings to share. All delicious! We live almost 2 hours away but we will be back. Dedicated kitchen, knowledgable and friendly staff.
10/10 The best gf food you can get.
LOVE their GF menu! Fabulous date night restaurant!
Dinner at Twigs was amazing! We had the Hot Rock Combo For Two which was a fun experience. All the food was wonderful, the atmosphere was nice, and there were no worries about cross contamination- it was obvious they very experienced with the gluten free diet. We arrived about 4:30 on a Friday night which was good as by the time we left the place had filled up. We'll be back.
Lots of choices! Excellent food. Fish and chips were amazing and they have lots of gluten free desserts! Stay at this hotel just for the restaurant.
You know when you walk into a place to eat and they ask if anyone needs a gluten free menu before they ask how many are in your party that you are in the right spot. The GF menu is 4 PAGES long. They have a dedicated KITCHEN to cook GF foods. I was with some people that did not have to eat gluten free and they brought their food out first, explained that they had to go wash their hands and then bring out my food. AMAZING. Then add in very reasonable prices and amazing food and its a win/win for everyone!!! We ate there twice in one week during a stay in Rochester and I can not recommend this place highly enough. I hope she expands nationwide so I will always have a safe go-to place when I travel!
The food is good, the gluten free menu is incredible and includes all the stuff you usually can't enjoy in a restaurant like: bread with dinner, French fries, a burger with a bun, onion rings. The owner has celiac so has tKen special care to create a dedicated gfree cooking space in the kitchen and has trained the waiters. This place is especially great for gfree kids!
We went to Twigs for the first time today and it was amazing! The food was prepared so well and plated beautifully. It was nice to find a whole menu dedicated to GF eating instead of needing to ask about every single item. I had the chicken sandwich and it was served on a cheesy bun, not a dry bun like is so often the case with places that have a GF option. I will definitely be back and am looking forward to trying other things on their menu as well. Definitely a 5+ star rating from me!
The owner apparently has Celiac so they have a separate gluten free kitchen and an extensive gluten free menu, and all the food is delicious!
Terrific. Very accommodating. Had a great burger with a cheddar "biscuit-like" roll and fried onions on it and some sweet potato fries. What a treat! I don't get to eat a burger out (or fries!) too often. Great!
Totally awesome burger on great tasting gluten free bun. Highly recommend!!
I am extremely sensitive to gluten, and I've eaten at Twigs dozens of times and have never gotten sick. This is the only gluten free restaurant in Rochester that I don't get sick at. They have a separate gluten free kitchen to make sure there is zero cross contamination!
By far the best gluten free place I have ate at so far. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff
I seriously cannot believe that anyone that is on a strict GF diet would have anything bad to say about this place! I live in Seattle WA where there are plenty of GF options, and this is by far the best place I have ever eaten. Their food is amazing, they have so many options that I could eat here for two weeks and never have the same meal, and their staff is wonderful. I never once got sick from eating here. THANK YOU FOR EXISTING, it made my trip to Rochester MN so much better!
Twigs has a varied menu that includes gluten free appetizers, warm gluten free bread, with an impressive number of side dishes and entrees. Twigs has a dedicated fryer and they go to great lengths to avoid cross contamination. The food is so good, you'd never know it's gluten free. I just wish that the Twigs Restaurant was available in other cities, and they would educate restaurants throughout the United States. Restaurants could learn a lot from Twigs, as many advertise a gluten free menu, when they don't really have a gluten free menu in the least. What many restaurants have, is a standard gluten filled menu, with key ingredients, that will be excluded when serving gluten free customers. These under serving restaurants, rely heavily on salads, and serve entrees, burgers and sandwiches without the requisite bread. Well, that's not a gluten free menu! These underperforming restaurants, fail to plan at all! They exclude the crackers that should come with the dip, and exclude the bun that should come with the burger. They toss a salad and omit the wheat dusted nuts, cheeses and traditional croutons,. They cook the fish, meat, or vegetables and omit the marinades, dry rubs and sauces. They make a stir fry dish without the soy sauce! Omitting the flavorful glazes, condiments, soups and basting sauces, will result in a dry and tasteless meal. This is just laziness, as gluten free marinades and soy sauces are easily purchased by restaurants through local suppliers, or the Internet. Customers who are gluten free deserve a complete and varied menu. It just takes a little consideration, preparation and planning. Check out Twigs, as they prepare very good food for gluten free, and unrestricted diets as well. You'll feel so welcomed and appreciated, as customers agree it's a great place to enjoy a wonderful GF meal. You'll be so glad you did!
By far my favorite restaurant and the ONLY restaurant after being diagnosed that I always feel safe eating at! Very knowledgeable staff and awesome food! Parmesan Polenta with Egg and Jalapeno Cream Sauce is to die for! :)
Took my son to eat there. We both ordered off of the gluten free menu and everything was really good. It was great to get french fries again!! Everyone was really friendly and it was a great experience.
My husband has celiac and reacts to any cross contamination. We absolutely love to eat at Twigs, their food is awesome!..both GF and non GF. The last time we were there they told us they are thinking of switching their kitchen around to accommodate the increasing number of GF clients. We don't eat out very often so they wouldn't recognize us if we walked in, but last time the hostess even asked if anyone in our party would like a GF menu! We highly recommend you try this restaurant for a GF (and nonGF option). We love it!
Thank you! Finally somewhere to eat that understands celiacs want real food, not just copycat processed gluten carbs. Nice to have a real menu to choose from with so many choices. Especially enjoyed the hot rocks to share.
Love this place! I visit every time I'm in Rochester! Cooked a meal on the 'hot rock' and had the Asian tacos this time - both were very good.
Had gf bread to snack on. But the Philly with gf bun was the best bun I've ever had!! Grew up in Rochester and wish I still lived there so I could come here all the time!
GF onion rings were great and plentiful. Menu had lots of options - mashed asparagus potatoes were great ! but the bun with onion tangle burger left a little to be desired and I was hopIng that someplace wIth a GF chef mIght have acomplIshed the "bun" Issue.Daughter had the polenta dish and it was very good to a non Gf diner. Many other entRees looked interesting will have to try again! Hot rock cooking was a hit with hubby.
We were asked upon arrival if a g/f menu was needed. The experience went downhill from there. Initial impression was less than optimal as carpets visably needed cleaned and the table we were seated at still had water rings and crumbs from the last guests. The server pointed me to the section of 'thin pastry' topped w/ various things. We ordered the g/f onion rings and enjoyed those. The 'thin pastry' was actually a pre-made pizza crust, cut in half. Blech. Other observations, the tzatziki sauce is made in house, and isn't actually tzatziki and did nothing to enhance the chicken skewers. Bottom line: it is appreciable a g/f menu exists there, but that in itself isn't enough to make this a repeat experience. Pricier than the food merits. Almost had the spaghetti another reviewer enjoyed, but didn't want to spend $13.99 for lunch. (It took close to an hr and a half to have lunch.)
As soon as I walked in I was asked if I needed a gluten free menu before I even said anything! It's a physically separate one and it's extensive. They brought me gf bread separately from my family's and brought my meal separately. Awesome!
I eat at Twigs ALL the time because I do have a gluten free diet and the extent they have gone to for people like me is appreciated so much! Not only have I never had a bad meal, the prices are very affordable as well! Thanks for all you do for us celiac customers!
Awful. Yes they have a large gluten free menu, but they can't even cook a simple chicken breast well.
This is a great place to eat. Staff is knowledgeable of cross contamination. Great atmosphere!
The gluten free spaghetti is amazing! And it even comes with four gluten free breadsticks!! I loved it!
