I ate at Two Fools Tavern on Central Ave in Albuquerque in April 2024. Although there is no separate GF menu, the server and manager were knowledgeable about Celiac Disease and cross contamination and went over the GF options and prep with me. I had a very good burger on a delicious gluten-free bun that held up really well, no crumbling. They told me the fries are cooked in a dedicated fryer, so I ordered them and they were absolutely perfect fries. I did not get sick from eating there, and the tavern has a welcoming and friendly vibe. I'll be back!

The staff was really knowledgeable about GF foods but they can not ensure safety as the fries are in the same fryer and the nachos are at high risk for cross contamination as well. The simple syrup for mixed drinks is NOT GF but if you’re going to drink wine all wine is safe and uncorked away from any gluten products. I didn’t trust that so I asked them to open a new bottle for me and they were happy to do so.

Not sure if I just got lucky or if they improved in the last several months, but I got a grilled chicken sandwich on a gluten free bun and it was phenomenal. Also, they had fries cooked in a dedicated fryer (so they said). I didn't even get sick, (which is really saying something with my sensitivity) so I was impressed.

I really want to like this place. It is a nice place for a drink, but I simply do not trust their handling of gf food. I ordered a burger with a gf bun. They brought it out on a regular bun. I didn't notice till I was two bits in that the bread just tasted too good to be gf. When I flagged down the waiter, she simply apologize and said she would fix it real quick. I don't think they understand that there isn't a simple fix to poisoning someone. I was sick for a week after.

They say they can make things gluten free. They are very bad at it. Don’t eat here if you have celiac.
