Apparently they don’t know what “gluten free” really means & they cook their gf pasta in the same water as regular pasta. They couldn’t verify if they could avoid other cross contamination, so I had to watch my family eat dinner. If you are celiac or gluten intolerant, don’t go here.

We were told when we made reservations in the morning they had GF pasta. When we arrived they said they didn’t have any that day. There were other options and the food was delicious. Loud atmosphere.

I am super disappointed. We called ahead that day and the woman on the phone guaranteed gluten free pasta as an option. When we got there they told us they “couldn’t get their hands on gluten free pasta for weeks”. Our server was very rude about it- and wouldn’t accommodate any other sides or options. We almost walked out but I stayed and ate bland grilled chicken for my family’s sake.

We were so disappointed- we got excited to eat some Italian food and called just to double check that the restaurant is careful about cross contamination and were told that the gluten free pasta is made in the same water as the regular pasta and that there is no space on the stove for another pot. The person who answered the phone verified this with a chef. Sadly, we’ll have to find Italian food elsewhere.

I had the Chicken Antonio with the gluten free pasta, and an appetizer of the roasted garlic bulbs. The waitress was wonderful in checking on gluten free items. 100% recommend! Just make a reservation 24 hours prior—they get super busy!

We tried this restaurant for the first time since I had heard they offered gluten free pasta. I didn't have extremely high expectations since usually gf pasta is average and usually comes in spaghetti noodles. I ordered shrimp scampi and I was shocked to find it was actually like fettuccine noodles and tasted amazing! Not sure if they actually make the pasta there or not (didn't ask) but it didn't seem like a boxed pasta. I am not extremely sensitive to gluten (like cross contamination) so you will want to ask about all of that before eating there if you are very sensitive or have celiac. I would definitely go back again.

Server didn’t seem concerned so I had to talk to the owner. She was great and made sure that anything marked with “allergy” get clean water for the pasta. It was delicious

Their gluten free pasta was the best I've tasted. I would have given it 5 stars but they didn't have a gluten free menu available.
All they had was gluten free spaghetti and it was ok, wouldn't recommend
Umberto's was very accommodating of my gluten free needs. My waitress knew which of the menu options could be altered to be GF and made sure the starters (beans, pasta) were altered to be GF for myself and the others in my family who had dietary restrictions. Great experience!
