I have been going to Ups n Downs for the last 5 years and have never had any issues after eating. They have a separate gluten free section and fryer in the kitchen.

I used to love Ups and Downs for gluten-free fish and chips, but unfortunately had a horrible takeout experience. I ordered gluten-free fish and chips for takeout as I had previously and ate them since the box said gluten-free but noticed they looked a little different than usual. I was horribly glutened, I can only assume they gave me regular fish and chips instead of gluten-free as I didn’t have anything else with possible cross-contamination. This was the worst I have ever been glutened and was violently ill for four days. I would still recommend trying Ups and Downs but be certain they have given you the gluten-free version!

I love eating here when I visit Sarnia. They have a separate fryer so you get pub style food without getting sick! The fries and poutine are delicious!

Love to go there for a treat of deep fried fish (minus the chips) I usually get rice instead. Not that their chips aren't awesome. I love that I can go someplace and order off a menu that has so many incredible options for a person who has celiac. They have one of the best gluten free menus in town.

Ate here this past weekend. It is located across the road from the lake. Great atmosphere! The have a large menu, including a two page gluten free menu (which you can view online). Our party has two Celiacs. My dad had the gf fish and chips. He said his meal was delicious. I ordered the gf club sandwich and a Caesar salade. Both were so good! The sandwich is huge and I could only eat half. They have a dedicated fryer and meal prep space for the gf menu. The servers are educated on the gf menu and ensuring no cross contamination. We were both fine after eating. I am very sensitive and had no reactions. We will definitely be returning.

Was in town for the day and so happy to find this pub! The GF menu is huge - 2 full pages. Have never had this much selection. After double checking on the dedicated fryer I had the fish and chips. Delicious. Overheard the man at the next table also being super excited to be able to get fries. Great place, great service.
