I eat here all the time, I order on the Heartland app and pick it up in the express room. It's always ready on time, accurate with my order and everything included that I asked for. You have to pick and choose and know the menu in order to avoid the gluten, but I've had success with the baked chicken (new for fall 23), field peas, green beans, collard greens, potato salad, and Cole slaw. If you dine in, you can also order the rice or creamed potatoes with no gravy but there's no option for that on the app or on the website. The last time we ate in, our server went above and beyond to get questions answered about gluten. I'd be cautious here if I had celiac because there's got to be cross contamination, but if you have a mild allergy, you can order carefully and come out alright. Haven't yet seen a gf friendly dessert.

We were traveling through the area and stumbled upon Wade’s. Wonderful southern home cooking with a gluten friendly menu. That’s pretty much unheard of. Obviously a risk of cross contamination but let’s face it, that’s anywhere unless a dedicated GF kitchen which are far and few between.

I had Turkey and cranberry sauce (without the dressing and gravy which I’m sure would have made it even better). The Turkey was good and moist. I also had mashed potatoes which were very good homemade mashed potatoes. Also, creamed corn (amazing) and green beans that were great too! The portions were very good and more than I could eat. I do wish restaurants would use corn starch to thicken gravies which would make them gluten free and just as good. But I was so appreciative of the GF choices they had and the fact that they had a menu for GF. The waitress even questioned one of my choices (creamed corn) because usually creamed corn isn’t GF but it was on their GF menu so that was nice to know that she was trying to keep me safe. Again, great experience!! Definitely try Wade’s if you’re in the area.

Stopped here when passing through SC. The restaurant is quite large and runs like a well oiled machine. Just a few people in line when we arrived around 2:00 but a very long line out the door when we left. Gluten free menu has plenty of choices. I had chicken salad and a side of cheesy potatoes. Portions are a bit on the small side but appropriate for the prices. There are no gf desserts but the sweet potato soufflé is sweet and works well as a dessert. My gluten eating husband enjoyed his fried chicken and raved about the blackberry cobbler. Service was great. Waitress was busy yet personable and attentive. Both meals, 5 sides, 2 beverages (free refills) and one cobbler for $25 is a deal. It is not fine dining but the food is solid and I recommend Wades if you are in the area.

Our waitress was very helpful when we asked about gluten free options, and provided us with their separate gluten free menu. The food arrived at separate time from other meals which leads me to believe the dishes are prepared separately, but we didn’t ask if they were. We had no issues after the fact, which is why I’m confident that they take proper precautions in preparing their gluten free options.
