This restaurant doesn’t have a dedicated fryer, and they didn’t have a sign or notification regarding this. If sensitive or celiac, avoid. There are breakfast sandwiches with egg, ham, or bacon but beware of cross contamination, they don’t seem to be taking precautions.

This is a lovely friendly place for both locals such as ourselves and visitors alike. We stop here for take-out gluten-free breakfast sandwiches almost every weekend on our way to work on our property. The sandwiches are great and affordable compared to other options on the island. I can’t really speak to the donuts but my celiac husband has never had any issues with the sandwiches.

Not gluten free. Everything is cooked in shared fryers or on shared cook tops with gluten and other allergens. If you have celiac don't waste your time.

Symptomatic Celiac

Overall Rating

Review

If you are gluten free by CHOICE or because of other health issues they have a decent amount of GF options, my family member loved their GF onion rings and GF donut.

That being said it us is NOT Celiac or Allergy safe! We know one of the head bakers, not only is use flour used in the small kitchen often, they do not have any gluten free fryers, not for donuts OR hot food. The owner and employees has always been really honest when asked about it. They have tried to make things celiac safe, but unfortunately not possible in their small space.

My wife had the fish and chips. Oldest had chicken and waffles and the youngest had avocado toast. All were excellent. Basically the entire menu can be gluten free. Nice to finally find a place like this.

Gluten Sensitive

We love Whidbey doughnuts. Many many many gluten Free things on their menu. However, they do not have a dedicated fryer and all of their non-gluten-free items are fried with their gluten-free items. It’s a great option for those that are trying to eat gluten-free. Probably not the best option for those that are extremely gluten sensitive or celiac. It would be great if they would get a designated fryer as they are very close to our home.

NOT safe for celiacs! They advertise GF donuts, etc., but they use same fryer oil & equipment as regular donuts. GF is a marketing ploy only as there is nothing safe for those with celiac here.

Gluten Intolerant

Gluten-free as a buzzword only. There are many GF options but the fryer shares oil with contaminated foods. Some items marked GF use a mix of flour and cornmeal. The restaurant does not clean surfaces. The polite staff is aware of gluten allergies but my takeaway is that they think of it as a weight loss choice. I ordered a Ruben sandwich on GF bread with a side salads. I wouldn’t recommend for celiacs and gluten sensitive folks should consume at their peril. Ultimately wasn’t worth it for me to risk getting sick. Otherwise a very charming restaurant with a fun menu (donut sandwiches) if you don’t have allergies.

We found this on line quickly while in Langley. Apparently there are 2 additional locations on that side of the water. I had the GF doughnuts. Small (so I got 3). Very good though. My daughter is has an egg allergy. She had the vegan doughnut (normal size) she loved it. I’m not a huge doughnut guy but they were good. We were in a hurry and I did not have time to take any good photos but, there is outside seating. Not tented in. A few small other stores there to include a tap house. (Maybe a tap with a cider option?) Finally I did glance at the rest of the menu......GF fried chicken and waffles, GF fish and chips!!! Check them out on line! Well maintained website FYI. Will stop again to try other items for sure.
