Sadly only 2 burgers, 2 chicken sandwiches, and the fries were safe. But they made sure when I told them I had celiac they cooked my food in a separate area. They even toasted the bun! How many places have you been that your sandwich just disintegrates because they don't cook the bun? Not here! It was so good I don't remember the last time I ate a burger this good.

They have a gluten free menu, 2 types of burgers and 2 types of chicken sandwiches. Frys fried in a separate fryer later. Not a gluten free kitchen, some risk of cross contact possible.

Great burgers and chicken sandwiches. Very celiac safe. Separate fryer for fries. My to go order came in a separate, different colored bag than everyone else. No issues

Really good food and knowledgeable staff; as soon as we asked about a GF option, they gave us a separate menu to look at (very small, but they had one). Dedicated fryer and good GF buns.

Dedicated fryer with old style thick cut fries. There wasn’t a gluten free bun advertised but they were happy to use a lettuce wrap instead. Very tasty and filling. Communal grill though so beware if you are super sensitive.

Very few GF options. Fries are cooked in same fryer as other items.
Burgers are good but outside of that. Good luck

Dedicated fryer for french fries but there isn't fried chicken. They made my daughter a grilled cheese on GF hamburger buns. She loved it! I had a grilled chicken sandwich. Also, it was very clean and the owner was friendly.

I LOVE these burgers! I loved them prior to my diagnosis but they do have gluten free buns but weren’t marked on the menu but almost any burger can be made gf! I got the Annie Oakley and it was delicious. The fryer is also separate so you can enjoy yummy fries!

First time since new ownership. My 3 kids and myself have celiac. They were very accommodating and nice. Food is still awesome, as well as safe to eat.
Yes
Just had to leave Wild Willys York Maine location without eating after being informed that they could not accommodate multiple simultaneous gluten free orders. The man taking orders was rude and actually said he "couldn't believe" that we legitimately needed 4 celiac orders at once. When I asked if he'd rather not serve us, he said "yes." So we left. Um, it's a genetic thing and we're all in the same family. I would not recommend attempting to eat here if you have more than one gf person in your party and even then I'd be prepared for some attitude. If you really can't or don't want to accommodate gluten free, don't advertise it. I have eaten here before without getting sick, but doubt I'll be back because I don't appreciate being called a liar about a medical condition I didn't choose.
Very disappointed that they aren't open Sunday's. In a major touristy area there's no excuse for being closed on a weekend day.
I felt confident eating here, separate menu for celiac and it was so delicious.
Yes
Great burgers. They are pretty big. My 6 yr and 9 yr old boys only ate 1/2. Fries are fresh cut and cooked in dedicated fryer.
Other gf options include chicken sandwich and ice cream for dessert.
Not a huge gf menu, but it's a burger and fry place, so get the burger and fries! Yummm.
Awesome!!! Celiac menu available. They are very clear that you cannot substitute anything on the menu if you have celiacs. Not to worry, the burger was fantastic, the bun was soft, and I got to eat fries with my family! They recommend ordering all fries for the table off the GF menu so there is no risk of contamination. The fries are cooked in dedicated oil. The GF order was placed separately and delivered on a separate tray. My non-celiac family members were equally excited with the food and all want to go back too. Everyone was happy!
Can't wait to go back!!!
Yes
Awesome GF Burger. Gluten free menu and dedicated fryer. French fries are awesome! They asked me if I had an issue with cross contamination (I do) and they cleared the line to prevent it. Children's menu is limited at this location.
Yes
Great burger shop, they are very knowledgeable of gf and take appropriate measure to assure no cross contamination. They have changed their gf buns which aren't as good. Fries are gluten free as well
I got the Willy Burger with a side of fries and it was delicious. When you enter the restaurant they hand you a menu(request a gluten free one) and have you figure out what you want to eat. Then you enter your order and ask if you choose to be gluten free or have celiac and mark the order to symbolize your choice. You then grab a booth and wait for your number to be called. This place is the go to place for people with celiac and who eat gluten free. I just got sick a few weeks ago from gluten at another place and this place made be feel safe from gluten.
The burger I ordered exceeded expectations. It was full of flavor and no cross contamination. They even have a fryer devoted to gf fries which are phenomenal! I didn't give five stars because the service was awkward. Not being there before I didn't understand that you ordered first then grabbed an available seat if there was one. It's a small place but very popular! They were packed. Knowing what to expect from now on I'm sure I'll have a better rating to give.

Knowledgeable, cooked my burger separately with new gloves. Dedicated fryer. Friendly!!

Yes
Great, great GF burgers. They are very knowledgable about what is safe for celiacs, and for those who are just " gluten sensitive". That being said, in order to have your GF burger to be safe for a celiac, there are limitations such as not putting your bun on the grill (needs to be toasted) and only certain toppings are safe because of cross contamination from the spoons. (No sautéed onions!)
I have mixed feelings, because when Wild Willy's was in Portland, they had a special GF section on their grill, and ALL toppings were available. BUT, here in York, the French fries are made in safe friers and are delicious!! Also, when we were there, the white vinegar on the tables was distilled, and safe! Yum!
The one thing we really noticed though was an attitude from the front staff, possibly because of ordering GF. Very uncomfortable.
All in all, my husband and I will probably be back if we're down there again.
Yes
A small, pleasant place with a decent burger (on Udis) and GOOD fries (dedicated drier)
They asked if my GF order was Celiac then informed the kitchen throughly.
Side bonus: Bell & Evan chicken and Pineland Farms beef available.
Downside: the food is good, the bathrooms are distinctly NOT handicap friendly.
Yes
Do not eat here. They screwed up my order twice and nearly poisoned me!

So good!!! Real food, tasty and separate friers plus gf rolls!
We were so impressed with the knowledge of the staff, the amazing burgers, and delicious fries! Great experience!

Can't give enough praise!!! We were actually excited to eat there because they were SO celiac friendly!!! Thanks, Wild Willy!

The staff were knowledgable. The burger was amazing and the fries were great! This restaurant is good for kids. I'm definitely going back again!

Customer service was awesome! I asked for no bun not knowing they had gluten free and they asked if it was for celiac and he said they have gluten free buns and will even make the fries and burger in a GF safe/separate grill and fryer. Everything was so tasty!!!
Yes
Great place! They are very friendly and helpful. Food is great and so is service.
They no longer have any sort of gluten free menu. GF buns are available, but no info about which burger toppings are safe, the only thing the person taking orders would say was they are not a GF establishment. That said, I had the green chili cheeseburger (whatever they call that) and had no issues. Edit: went a second time recently, they brought it out on a regular bun. They were very apologetic about it and remade the burger no problem, but it seems typical of other recent experiences.

I agree with the other recent reviews, unfortunately. I used to love this restaurant and they were very careful about preparation of gluten-free items. Yesterday we placed an order to pick up. I said we needed it to be gluten free multiple times. They got the order right EXCEPT that it was not gluten free at all. They gave us the regular buns. I nearly took a bite but something felt off so I double checked. Unfortunately we had already brought all the food home and it was much too far to drive back. Complete waste of money and very disappointing. We will no longer be going back, unfortunately.

These folks used to be adaptable to the gluten intolerant - back in 2015, but now they are not. I’ve taken them off my go-to list sadly. Last time I went in 2023, they really discouraged me from eating anything there, period.

No separate GF menu, but staff was knowledgeable. Salads, chili, and burgers/sandwiches can be made safely. Choice of lettuce wrap or GF bun. Fries are not GF. Had the Gabby with a lettuce wrap. Missing the honey mustard-not sure if that was on purpose. Tasted great and didn’t get sick!
