Review of Zhug

I came here a year ago from out of town, knowing nothing about this restaurant. I thought I’d written a review after eating here, but I didn’t. After re-visiting this establishment, I recognize that the reason that I did not write an original review is because this restaurant is so perfect, so unbelievable, so delicious, that I entered a fugue state upon leaving and had no words to describe the sheer ecstasy that is dining here. So, I will give you a few thoughts/quotes from this evening:

This hummus is stupid. [See synonyms at: heavenly, otherworldly, the most delicious chickpea I’ve ever tasted.]

Idk if this gf pita is a house recipe, but it’s better than anything I’ve ever eaten.

*Shakes head, unable to speak, wondering how food can taste this good.*

We should have gotten married in this restaurant.

Gluten-Free Reader, I warn you: After you’ve eaten here, all food will be disappointing, forever.

Usually, this is where I list what I ate off the menu, but I don’t want to sway you. The right move is to come back over and over until you can eat everything. Because you can. Eat (almost) everything. No substitutions. No explanations. Just miracles.
