This is a must if you are in Newport!! It’s located very close to the water and just beautiful location. This was our last night on vacation and is exactly what we needed. So much personality in this cute place. If you get a chance have dinner at the bar. It’s a great time and the staff are all just lovely and very well educated on gf. We had a lovely Irishman who greeted us while we were just having drinks and then we chose to sit there because him and our other bartender walked us through the menu and told me what couldn’t be gluten free. She knew right away what could be done and that there wasn’t a dedicated fryer. You didn’t need a fryer at this place! They have gf rolls that were delish!! New Zealand salmon that was to die for. Crème burlee that was out of this world. Any allergy they ask about. A manager brings out your food with an allergy stick in it so there isn’t cross contamination even with food runners. Overall great experience and I didn’t get sick. Even feel remotely bloated which never happens. Soooo good.

Lunch exceeded my expectations!!!! I had the cod sandwich on a gluten free roll with field greens. The sandwich had a wooden marker stuck in the top. Everything was delicious and the roll was tasty and didn’t fall apart.

We chose this spot for our fancy dinner evening on vacation because they offered Japanese A5 Waygu. They did not have items marked gf but our waiter double checked everything I ordered with the chef. I was even able to get potatoes au gratin. Everything was delicious and I did not get sick.

Perfect spot for outdoor dining. Ate here for lunch, and while GF items aren’t marked on the menu, they are very accommodating for GF and cautious for celiacs. The chef even came out to my table to assure me the croutons on my Caesar salad were prepared separately in the kitchen and my plate came out with an allergy indicator. Great experience here!!

I had an excellent meal at 22 Bowens. They made gf French onion soup with gf bread in it. Homemade gf rolls. Most of the entree options were gf. I had the Statler chicken and only had to change the sauce on top of chicken. It came with quinoa pilaf and broccolini, which were delicious! I also enjoyed some asparagus and shared an wonderful creme brûlée. Our waitress was excellent. By far the best meal I had in Newport!

Had such an amazing brunch this weekend. Server checked to make sure everything was ok for my multiple other allergies besides gluten (peanut, tree nut, chickpea) and had no issues.

A MUST place to eat. The server was knowledge and treated my gf heart so well. She gave homemade gf dinner rolls and went through the entire list with me on what can be made gf. I had the French onion soup- out of this world! And the cod- best fish cooked absolutely perfect. 12/10 recommend

There is no longer a separate GF menu, however servers are knowledgeable and kitchen stand are careful. I had French onion soup, which was very rich and delicious, the salmon entree, which was also great. Had sorbet for dessert which was pretty good, not great.

GF rolls… need I say more? Glad to have asked on a whim and was easily accommodated. Definitely recommend! Only rated 4 stars because my steak was a little dry. But they have a plethora of sauces to choose from to overcome that

Went for lunch. They were able to make the French onion soup GF. They seemed very accommodating. GF buns are available for the sandwiches.
GF menu, understand CC issues. Food was good, it took 2 hours to eat dinner so prepare & we couldn’t seem to get our drinks refilled. Besides that, good meal & safe place to eat for Celiac’s.

Even have GF rolls! Dedicated gf menu.
Such a great find in Newport. The staff were so kind and incredibly knowledgeable about safe celiac practice. They were not just educated but incredibly discreet, which is always appreciated. I was attending a work dinner and nothing is worse than becoming a spectacle. Our group started at the bar, where I had one of the best cocktails my lips have ever touched... the warm welcome. I’m craving another one as I write this! The had a separate GF menu with so many choices for each course. I knew then it was going to be a great meal. I started with the burrata salad and it was amazing. For dinner I had the filet with green beans and potatoes. The steak was cooked a perfect medium rare and was incredibly tender. Creme brûlée for desert, but I only had a bite because it was espresso and didn't want to be up all night:) The view from our table was gorgeous, complete with a spectacular sun set. I can't wait to come back!

Knowledable and attentive. Didn’t not get sick! Had the steak and mash!
I was extremely disappointed after reading such wonderful reviews but for celiacs this place is unfortunately not safe! I notified them I am celiac and the manager even came over to acknowledge how they would safely prepare my food, but my Nima sensor found gluten! For an upscale restaurant the waitress was just plain rude and had an awful attitude.

Gluten free menu. Gluten free dinner rolls and staff aware. Delicious meal and fantastic service!

Extremely celiac friendly! When you say you have a gluten allergy they take someone off the line to prepare your meal and the manager oversees it. Delicious food and great service!

Food was really great and gluten free, but service was awful. Had put in reservation for outside seating, which was not honored-seated near very noisy kitchen area. If you are celiac it is safe and delicious, but really not worth the money for lousy service and noisy atmosphere.

Loved this place!!!!! I had my first gluten free Lobster Roll ever here!!!! I thought I died and went to heaven when it came out. I had it hot and it was by far the best Lobster Roll I’ve ever eaten. The chef himself brought it out. I couldn’t stop ranting about it and noticed the tables around me ordering the lobster roll just cause I kept ranting how beyond amazing it was to my best friend who never gets to see me eat anything like this! Fabulous food. Highly recommended

Dedicated friers, felt safe! Celiac friendly. Never thought I could get a GF lobster roll!
Absolutely delicious! Restaurant has its own Gf menu and staff is very knowledge about it! Will definitely go back next time we are in town!

Great celiac friendly menu - will return! Also great service.

Extensive gluten free menu. Service was slow but waitress was knowledgeable about cross contamination issues. Food was average for the prices they charged.

This restaurant has one of the nicest GF menus I have ever seen and I've been GF for 12 years. I had the French dip. Yes, I said GLUTEN FREE FRENCH DIP. And it was delicious. My friend had a special; a blackened swordfish BLT. It was not GF but she said it was excellent. For an appetizer we shared a cheese board. Our waitress, Svetlana, explained every item in detail, gave me GF crackers and my friend cranberry bread. It was served beautifully and safely with the gluten containing bread on a separate plate. We had a wonderful, relaxing (ridiculously filling) meal in the beautiful outdoors.

Beautiful restaurant with awesome views if you sit outside! The gf menu has a good amount of options and the food was fantastic! Great atmosphere and drinks too!
I had a hamburger and fries for lunch that were average taste wise, but great at the same time because I was able to eat a good gf bun and fries. I also had a tasty Cesar salad with gf croutons! My burger and fries were $12, so not as pricey as we thought it would be. The service wasn't very good though.

AWESOME!!! High-end steak / seafood joint. Had New Year's Eve dinner here. Dedicated Gluten Free menu. Knowledgeable management and staff. Caesar salad with GF croutons! Steak was scrumptious. Pricey but well worth it. Also, enjoyed one of their sister restaurants (Mooring Seafood).
