I’ve been gluten’ed twice eating here now. The first time, it was someone not changing gloves between touching pita and my shawarma. The last time was the fatoush salad. I asked for no pita, and they still had pita on it. Do not trust.

Even after reading the good reviews I was a little nervous about eating here… all that homemade bread in the air! But the waitress made me feel very comfortable and she was very helpful. She explained they have changed a lot of their recipes over the last couple years to be gluten free, most of the menu is GF. Fried items not safe… CC. Our meal was terrific and I didn’t have any issues afterwards. Happy to have a Mediteranean place I can feel comfortable with! I

I’ve eaten here without getting sick, but last time I was glutened and was sick for days. Pls note, the “gf” on their menu doesn’t necessarily mean the item is safe for celiacs. For example, the fries are cooked in a fryer that also fries gluten items. Wish it were safer.

Picked up take out here. They were very assuring of what was gluten free and made sure that my food would be prepared carefully.

I had the schwarma with rice and it was delicious with no issues. Also had a vegan gluten free dessert. :) very good!

Very Celiac-friendly. They take food allergies and intolerances very seriously. The tabbouleh IS GF automatically. Joe’s chicken wings are GF automatically. I am Celiac, and have never had a problem here. Most of the menu is already GF. Their hummus, baba gannoush, stuffed grape leaves, tabbouleh, soups, and shawarma bowls are delicious. I get fresh veggies to dip in my hummus and let my non-GF boyfriend have all the gluteny pita bread, lol. Items marked GF on the menu have never given me a problem, but I also let the server (or whoever is taking my order if it’s over the phone) know that I am GF, just in case. You should always have that conversation with your servers. Anita’s is amazing, respectful, and accommodating. Enjoy! I’m a big fan.

When I called they were very nice and double checked if the items were gluten free. They were unsure about the fryer, so I got baked falafel mediterranen bowl and it was great. And she made sure to mark mine as a gluten allergy.

Consistently delicious! Their baked falafel is the best I’ve ever had, and the chocolate dream cake truly is a dream come true. There are a lot of tasty smoothie options, and even the tabbouleh is GF! My only note of caution is that they use a LOT of salt in their dishes.. I have eaten here dozens of times over the years and never been ill. They are also really great about order accuracy for takeout.

My mom, sister, (both non-GF) and I went for lunch and we were all extremely impressed. The service and food were both fantastic. We shared the faleffel (baked), chicken schwarma, and shish kafta platters because all of them could be made GF! We asked for the tabouli on a separate plate because of my allergy, but the server said that it could be made GF with quinoa instead of cracked wheat and that the quinoa version had more flavor, so we had that! I highly recommend Anita’s to everyone GF and non-GF alike.

So, I noticed someone said they had tabouli on their plate and it's not gluten free... Anita's makes gluten free tabouli with quinoa versus cracked wheat. They're very careful about cross contamination, especially since they make everything fresh, and they're very knowledgeable about gluten. 5 stars! I eat here once a week (slight addiction), have celiacs and have never had an issue!

Excellent Gluten Free options. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. So refreshing to hear "Just about all of our menu items can be made gluten free". Very accommodating staff. Very delicious food; don't even miss the gluten here!! Be sure to get a bag a falafel chips for your hummus and/or baba ganoush! They are wonderful-and high in anti-oxidants as well! Enjoy!!
