I was disappointed when I visited because the waiter told me that they no longer serve gf pasta or gf chicken tenders (both of which I'd gone there for). Not sure if this change is permanent. However, the burger and fries I had were safe and great. The waiter was knowledgeable and confirmed that they have a separate fryer. There are still many options. The banana nut muffin and the free gf cookie were wonderful.

Great option for comfort food. I had two meals from here while traveling for work - one delivery (grilled chicken sandwich) and one in the restaurant (burger). The menu is clearly marked and the staff is extremely knowledgeable about cross contamination. The brioche bun was so good I had to call the restaurant to confirm that they had actually given me the GF option (they did and directed me to the bakery website where they source them so I could see the pictures for myself). They have a dedicated fryer (great French fries) and give you a complimentary GF cookie with your meal. Highly recommended.

Best gluten free place in town! Its a small, family-owned establishmment, and the owner is usually there. They prides themselves on being one of the best celiac-friendly spots in town. I believe the chef is/was celiac, so they are super good with cross contamination. There are tons of items on the menu marked gluten free, and if it's not, they can usually modify it to be. Their gf buns are super good and don't flake apart, the sweet potato fries can be seasoned several ways, the fries and homemade chips are all cooked In a dedicated fryer, and they bake their own gf muffins and cookies (you get a free cookie at the end of your meal). Love this place! Highly recommended.

Gotta hit this place. The owners/staff are so genuinely nice and accommodating. Lots of options and they are proud of it. Dedicated fryer, great buns. GF items are called out on the menu and the burgers and sandwiches that are not marked, are with the GF bun. Despite being busy our food came out quickly.

What a great experience! The menu is loaded with gf items AND there is a dedicated gf fryer! I about cried when I found out I could have the crispy Brussels (so good) and their sweet potato fries! Nelson, who I assume is the owner, was the sweetest human. He reminded me so much of my own grandpa I wanted to hug him. He talked us through the menu and made me feel so comfortable to eat there. Didn’t get sick at all! We had the Brussels and I got the Thai chili shrimp which was so yummy. They have gf banana nut muffins which were heavenly and a gf chocolate chip cookie which was just as good! I stole some of my husbands fries. He got the elk burger and loved it! DONT SLEEP ON THIS PLACE!

Took great care of my niece with celiacs. Staff was amazing. We could tell they were understaffed but even still our server was attentive, knew the menu well, and handled our parties no nonsense. Even went so far as to explain why they no longer fried their kids GF tenders.

Got takeout here Twice while visiting the area. Got the mahi both times and first time was very good. Second time the piece of fish was very small and overall quality just OK. My daughter got GF veggie pasta that she liked. My e food would’ve been better had we eaten there.

Incredible gf menu options, and even a gf banana nut muffin as a side. My kid got a burger with a gf keto wrap, which was like a very thin tortilla. Me, I got a salad with fish. So happy to find this restaurant after relocating to the LKN area. Had a chance to have a great convo with the owner/chef who filled me in on the details of their food allergen/contamination protocols and the care they take, which I much appreciate. I am gluten and dairy-free and their menu is marked to indicate allergens (you have to locate the one with this info online) which made ordering easier. And their online ordering allows you to make adjustments and enter comments for the kitchen. I never had a problem with food reactions, and even better - the food is delicious! It became one of our faves and we ordered there regularly. We also could pickup curbside by calling and they'd bring the order out (which is great since they don't mask there which was one drawback for me). They have a great selection of GF items and the menu is well-rounded with many options for my non-GF husband and a variety of price points. They also do holiday takeout meals that you can opt to do a la carte to supplement your own menu. And they give you a free GF cookie with your takeout order! (but it has dairy so hubs got all those). We have moved again so I'll sorely miss them but we're close enough to eat there on occasion still. Try it - you'll love it!

After seeing all the amazing “celiac-friendly” reviews, I was very excited to try Blu Star Grill. Unfortunately, I was unimpressed with the service and I seem to be having a severe reaction :(

I explained to our server that I have a gluten allergy, and she nonchalantly said she’d let the kitchen know that they’d “change their gloves.” Not reassuring enough for me usually, but with 100% of 20 reviews saying it’s “celiac-friendly,” I trusted they knew what they were doing in the kitchen even if the server wasn’t prepared to explain it all to me.

Even with the allergy heads-up, they brought the “gluten-free” muffin out on the same plate as and touching my mom’s glutenous muffin. I wasn’t going to eat it anyway (and I didn’t touch it) since I don’t trust baked goods prepared in a gluten flour-containing facility, and I didn’t ask how & where they were prepared. But maybe that should have been all the information I needed to be more cautious not eat my salad. But I was hungry, and I trusted the reviews and the server and the kitchen’s protocols, and now I’m paying the price :(

Phenomenal from start to finish. All of the staff is incredibly warm and knowledgeable, but Hannah took care of us and answered all of our questions. The owner, Nelson, personally stopped by to walk through the menu with us. We cannot emphasize enough how delicious the food is. 11/10. Very Celiac friendly. Menu clearly marked what is GF and Keto (if you’re interested in Keto options). Made a reservation, but they weren’t honoring them upon arrival due to a severe staffing shortage thanks to the pandemic. The host (perhaps owner) was extremely apologetic. It was worth the wait though, which wasn’t excessive. Excellent hamburger on a GF bun that did not fall apart. I ate every bit of it. The burger was cooked to perfection and the cheese perfectly melted with just the right amount of caramelized onions. They will cook the food separately if you have any concerns. Yes, there is a dedicated fryer for fries. Also had a complimentary GF cookie. It was a little hard. It’s the thought that counts. Nice atmosphere and very friendly and accommodating staff. Wonderful experience! The staff was knowledgeable. They had a lot of GF options, they have a dedicated fryer, and were willing to modify options to make them GF. The owner came out and talked with us for a while. He was very nice and knowledgeable about gluten allergies and cross contamination. He said he had a separate fryer and used a separate clean pan for fish and other items needed sauté. I was also impressed with his meat selection- they source all of their meat from high quality sources where they know the rancher and can verify it is grass fed, no hormones or antibiotics, etc. he ended talking me into the elk burger on gluten free bun and I also had a side of sweet potato fries. It was all delicious! Definitely will return if I am back in the area.

Absolutely delicious food and I feel fully safe eating here. They have a dedicated kitchen space, dedicated pans, toasters, and utensils. They also have an elevated grill so that all GF items go on top so that nothing with gluten will drop into the GF food. 100% recommend eating here.

There are a ton of GF items on the menu including GF buns, a GF banana nut muffin, and a lot of entrees as well that you can’t find in other restaurants GF (steak tips, shrimp and grits, safe fried foods).

Most items other than the breaded fried items are Gf or can be made GF. They are very knowledgeable. GF bread, buns. The amazing banana nut muffins are GF. Separate fryer. They often have GF desserts such as pecan pie. Fresh delicious food and nobody ever gets sick here.

Awesome food. Had the pimento cheese crab dip, so good. Also had the stack your own burger and fries. Root beer was really good, from a local company. They have a lot of menu items that is gluten free. We will definitely be back.

My entire family (not all celiac) enjoyed their food. A great restaurant in a cute part of Mooresville.

The chef says he makes his kitchen gluten free and has a specific section for gluten foods. The menu has a huge variety of gluten free foods, including beer! I loved it!

I’ve eaten here regularly for several years now without issue and the staff has always been extremely knowledgeable and more than willing to answer any questions. I would highly recommend them to anyone visiting this region as they are far more attentive to providing safe gluten free meals than most restaurants in this area.

While there were lots of options, my salmon tested positive for gluten on my Nima sensor. The staff was nice about it and didn’t charge for the dish. They even asked about my sensor. Hopefully they get one and figure out how to make truly gluten free food.
