Such a great place! Having an almost 100% gluten free menu was very encouraging to a celiac on a road trip. The only stomach ache I had was from eating so much delicious food!
about to eat fried rabbit! check out the appetizers! !!
Heading home from Branson, Mo. with the help of this app we found this Gem! Love the food and dessert! Will come back again
My girl friend and I celebrated our birthdays today here. It was very tasty and delicious. The service was excellent and helpful with my glutenfree/dairyfree diet. Thank you for making our day so great. M and J
There are maybe 4 or 5 items on the menu that are NOT gluten free. The food was fantastic! Very fresh flavors.
One of the only places I feel completely safe eating at.
Great gluten free offerings, but make doubly sure you get the gluten free bread if you order a sandwich. Waiter forgot I was allergic after much discussion on the topic and verifying that I wanted the gluten free bun, gave me gluten bun anyway. Did not find out until I had eaten most of the burger. Manager gave me my meal for free, apologized profusely. Still got sick though.
Amazing food! A huge menu where only 5 items are not naturally gluten free. Highly recommend to my fellow celiacs and gluten-intolerant folks.
Excellent escabeche wahoo.
This restaurant is a real find. I travel across the U.S. and have found few restaurants as gluten free friendly. Virtually every item on the menu is gluten free...even desserts. I will be dining here every time I travel to Springfield.
If you love Peruvian food, it's wonderful. If you're a bit more adventurous than normal American diet, it's great. If you want a typical American food menu, it's probably not your place. My husband and I really enjoyed it and there are lots of gluten free options (large menu and most of the items are gf. Good, attentive service. Two things I'd change: The menu is hard to read in low light. And the booth table is very far from seat. Doubling cushions help, but it is still far. Uncomfortable.
Has a great selection of GF item's including dessert. Staff friendly, nice ambience, loved the music.
So good! I had crawfish soup and sweet potato noodles with chicken. So delicious. Cannot wait to go back. Most items are gf and they were careful. I stated I had celiac and the waitress actually knew what it was. No crackers on my soup plate which is so nice, tells me they know what they are doing!
Delicious! Fabulous & diverse menu. Almost everything is GF. Good options for kids. Staff is friendly & very knowledgeable. Love the atmosphere.
Only 5 items on the entire menu are not gluten free! You have to try this fabulous restaurant!
AMAZING food, drinks, dessert. Ate there both nights we were in town. We have 2 service animals and they were extremely friendly to all of us. Wahoo dish was one of the best fish dishes I have ever had. So many gluten and dairy free options. Most places have gf, but not dairy free too. I would eat here every day if I did not live 4 hours away. Plenty of options for the non gf crowd too, beautiful building, patio, excellent service, would have to say this is one of may favorite restaurants in the US and I travel an extreme amount and I have had food in every major city. Thinking of traveling through and possibly stopping in this area again just for this restaurant. Thanks again for the wonderful service, really priceless:-)
This restaurant offers amazing gluten-free dishes. Joe and Claire and their staff have a great understanding of celiac disease and how important it is for those with celiac to avoid gluten. I have eaten at Cafe Cusco at least a dozen times and have never had any issues. The food is always fresh and delicious, the atmosphere is cozy, and the wait staff is warm and friendly. I love the Black Olive Trout, the Cebiche Tacos, the Arroz con Pollo, the Tamal, the Fritas La Huancaina ... well, everything I've ever tried. It's wonderful to have a place where I can order nearly anything on the menu and never have to worry about spending the night in the bathroom!
This restaurant brought gluten-free eating to new heights. First of all, the menu has asterisks next to the items that are NOT gluten-free. This made it so much easier for us. I had the sweet potato noodle dish and my husband had the shrimp dish, both of which were fantastic! We started off with the fried guacamole. Their Manhattan cocktails were also superb. We ended with the corn pudding which was like apple pie filling. Yum! We highly recommend this restaurant and intend to eat there again the next time we pass through Springfield.
Delicious, unique & flavorful! I had the chicken rojo on a gluten free bun with iced Yerba mate to drink. Only 5 items on the entire menu contain gluten.
Great food, great service. They have so many gf options that the regular menu has marked which item are not gf. For .75 cents you can get a delish gf bun for their sandwiches! I will be back.
Almost everything on the menu is gluten-free. The only things that aren't are marked with an asterisk. The food is delicious and exotic. One of my favorite places in town to dine with friends!
This was one of the best gf experiences I have ever had! Delicious and such a great spot- charming!
I think only 5 or fewer menu items [out of 30+] have gluten; even the kid's breaded chicken is GF! Not just a great GF restaurant, but also just a great place to eat! it's Peruvian cuisine so be prepared for a party of flavors in your mouth.
I was elated to see that the GF options were so extensive that they marked the items that were *not* GF! They also accommodated my dairy allergy. Choices were fantastic and entrees were delicious! Was disappointed with my cocktail (size and taste) and the soup (taste) and appetizer (size for price) but everyone was very friendly and the atmosphere was nice. Biggest issue was waiting...for the food, for refills, for the check (had to ask for it), etc. but overall we really liked it and would go back (but only order entrees next time).
First, almost everything on the menu is gluten free...so if I were basing my review just on the OPTIONS then it would get a 5 star.It is a locally owned restaurant too, which I love. The staff were extremely friendly as well. However, you can tell there are some short cuts taken with their food that I would not expect with a local restaurant. The fries and sweet potato fries are "out of the bag" variety. The spicy pork on the tamale was not a nice shredded pork, but cubed cut up pork chop/loin. The seafood soup that included shrimp, only had 1 piece of shrimp and it was inundated with rice...there were hardly any other ingredients. Also, since it is a family owned business, they run with a very small (3) crew to operate the whole thing on Wednesday evenings...so my service was fast and attentive in the beginning but VERY slow at the end because they were clearly overwhelmed. I would still recommend giving it a try but make sure you have time to spare and be open minded to the preparation of certain ingredient.
Four of us thoroughly enjoyed our dinner last night! Thrilled to have so many gluten free choices! We were surprised how quickly our food was served. Definitely plan to return anytime we are in the area!
Staff very helpful and a huge selection of gluten free items. The food was amazing.
Three of us thoroughly enjoyed three different entrees: bbq pork panca, cebiche tacos, and sweet potato noodle stir fry. One of us needed gluten free food, but all the food was delicious and the wine too. The service was excellent and the decor interesting. Definitely recommend it and especially hope those who need gluten free food will realize this is the first restaurant in Springfield that I have found that has more gluten free than non gluten free choices on the menu.
