California Dreaming

Eat there every time I’m in Myrtle Beach.

Main menu is labeled if items are GF or not. They have a good selection and staff was very familiar with options. We’ve been coming to California Dreaming when in the are for over 20 years so was excited to find that they had GF options.

Manager seemed to know that most everything was unsafe for celiacs, but our waiter was confused whether chicken wings bakes or fried and initially gave bad info that he then corrected. In the end I didn't trust that even the few items marked gluten free actually were. I had a house salad and was fine - they did change gloves in kitchen and manager brought out - would NOT be my first choice but at least there was awareness

No gf breads, but they offer a gf menu. Portions were a good size and even on a holiday they took time to check on things with the kitchen to accommodate.

Ordered off gf menu, spoke to manager, and salad came out with a croissant on top! Spoke to different manager who was wonderful and he went in kitchen and made salad himself. Would go back because of him.

The gf menu had options of a chicken, steak & fish dish along w a salad and a few other things. Like the other reviews my gf salad came out w a croissant on top.. Really?? My food did not come out on a blue plate. I had the marinated sirloin and green beans. It was a refreshing change from non stop salads on vacation. Staff seemed knowledge and accommodating.

We ordered gf chicken wings. Amazing!!California Dreaming signature salad is so good! blue cheese dressing is AMAZING.

Watch out!! Not safe for Celiacs I got the salad with chicken and was very specific on my issues. They brought my salad out with a croissant on top then when I got a new one and tried it I thought I tasted soy and it had been marinated in wheat filled soy sauce!!

They have a nice gluten free menu with many choices, even appetizers!!! Ribs are very good! Their salad is delicious!

Ordered a salad and it came out with a croissant on it. Salad was pretty good though and chicken was grilled versus broiled to keep it gf.

I checked with the waiter and he assured me gluten free items were marked on the menu. I ordered a Salmon Salad (marked GF) and commented to the waiter as I ordered it, I am ordering the Salmon Salad because I am gluten free and it is marked gluten free on the menu. He confirmed. When he brought the salad out the was a croissant sitting on top of the salad. I said, "This is not gluten free" and he looked confused, did not say anything and disappeared quickly. My husband grabbed the croissant off my salad. I scraped the top layer off the salad and ate the rest without any ill affects. I am not celiac and do not get sick from cross contamination - I am gluten free because of an autoimmune disease. I would NOT recommend this restaurant for actually being gluten free.

I went for lunch and found the menu did not have many gluten-free options. I chose a wing starter which was labeled as gluten-free. I double checked with our server and was assured this was completely gluten-free. I ate half of the starter which came with, again an assurance of gluten-free fries. It did not I t take long for symptoms to start as we drove back to Columbia. I've been sick for two days but finally back to normal. No inquiries were done about my problem with gluten or cross contamination procedures.

Ordered the broiled chicken salad, it came out with a croissant on it. When I sent it back the waitress came back saying the chicken is marinated in soy sauce. Salmon salad was good.

To whom it may concern,l celebrated my birthday on Good Friday at your location. We had the best waiter Dustin who was very professional,caring and acccomodating to our needs.He wished me a Happy Birthday and made my day with his kindness and jovial spirit.The manager on duty Kevin was so kind and considerate ,He also gave me a sincere and sweet hug.These two young men is definitely an asset to your company for their professionalism,superior customer skills and sweet caring spirit.They made my birthday so very special for their kindness!!!l pray God's blessings upon these fine men!!
