The staff needs to be trained on the allergy menu items! No gluten free menu and the items on main menu didn’t identify gf options. I asked the waitress if the chips were gluten free. She said they were corn tortillas, so yeah, pretty sure. I asked are they fried in a dedicated fryer? She wasn’t sure so went back to check. Yes, the chips are fried in a dedicated fryer. The waitress pointed out the gf items on the menu- for entrees pretty much just the enchiladas and tacos. Even the fajitas are marinated in beer😳. I ordered the Elvis Presley enchilada trio (my dad did, too). The waitress informed me that the rice was not gf, so my meal would not include it. That was okay by me. I also had to substitute the Tex-mex sauce on the enchiladas because it is not gf. When the entrees arrived , the rice was on my plate. I told the server that I was told by the waitress that the rice was not gf and should not be on my plate. He told me it was gf. So, the waitress had to go back and get clarification from the chef. Honestly, I will not return because the food was subpar. Not fresh at all. The sauce on the enchiladas appeared to have been on the corn tortillas for a while. It wasn’t made fresh and poured over them. Also the corn tortillas were awfully thick.

I can’t speak for the rest of the restaurant chain but the Chuy’s in Sterling was great! Jeff the manager was very kind and sat down and told us what we could have on the menu. We called ahead and they prepared chips gluten free, drained the fryer and refilled with new oil. The key is call ahead and let them know you are coming and you have a gluten issue. I had tacos and my daughter had nachos. The boom boom sauce was a great alternative to the queso which they make with a rue.
Called ahead and discussed gf options Was offered a gf menu at host stand. No meat sub guacamole

Separate GF menu. I had enchiladas on corn tortillas with one of the safe sauces plus a crunchy taco. It was delicious and staff was knowledgeable.

Fantastic experience at Chuy’s. The manager and majority of the staff were very knowledgeable on what items are gluten free items! Their chips are made in a dedicated fryer. And corn tortillas are gluten free. Staff was so kind to let me know all the gluten free sauces that were options. Their fajita meat is not gluten free. I had the Chicka Chicka Boom Boom enchiladas and they were delicious. No cross contamination and I feel great after my meal. I’m making Chuy’s my permanent Mexican food spot in OKC!

Even though they have a GF menu, they will not guarantee it will actually be GF. All their meat proteins have gluten - from the marinade. The chips are not GF either. Very disappointing.

The GM was extremely knowledgeable about the processes and cross contamination! Chips at this location are celiac safe, boom boom sauce, and jalapeno ranch as well!
