We ordered everything that was gluten free. It wasn’t a big selection, but since we were eating light, it was perfect. Sweet potato soup, asparagus with prosciutto and egg, king pao cauliflower, Caesar salad without croutons. Excellent!

Staff are knowledgeable and willing to adapt to our gluten free request. We ordered the spare ribs with sweet potato hash and chicken and kale salad without the croutons. Both are very yummy.

When I used to be vegetarian they put bacon on my salad when I requested that it be made vegetarian. More recently they put croutons on my salad when I requested that it be made without croutons due to celiac. Servers are knowledgeable about ingredients and happy to offer options, but there’s a communication problem somewhere between the table and the kitchen. They’re consistently terrible at paying attention to substitutions and don’t offer many options that are gluten free without making modifications. They’re quick to correct mistakes and send out new dishes, but always be attentive here before you take a bite!

Here staying at attached hotel for a family wedding over next few days. Went in around 5pm so they weren't busy to ask about dinner options with the family later. Bartender was very knowledgeable since she goes GF by choice. Waiter was good. Ordered the pork chop without crumble on top & mentioned my medical need to avoid gluten. Different server brought out my meal & it was clearly covered with crumble so immediately sent it back. Comes back without the crumble and the flavor was excellent. Ordered the fireside milkshake for dessert without the gram cracker crumbs and again said needed to be GF. The shake comes out & it's delicious. Throughout the shake I notice a tiny chunks and just assumed it was part of the caramelized banana mentioned on the menu. Only once I was about 80% finished did I notice those chunks were getting much more frequent and much larger. Could tell it wasn't banana and looked at one of the large chunks and it was clearly gram cracker. Once my family left, I spoke with our waiter about this. He sincerely apologized and asked to make it up to me somehow. Terrible stomach aches after, hard time sleeping, & bad stomach aches the next morning too. The food was very tasty, but the 1-star rating is because of the 3 food items ordered (also a side of snap peas with dinner) two came to me with complete disregard for my order of medically avoiding gluten. At a higher end restaurant of this scale that claims to be attentive, this is unacceptable. Plus, now I have no interest in returning to this place that will unfortunately be a central meeting spot for family meals over next few days of trip. If the kitchen is that inattentive to food sensitivities clearly mentioned, then for actual food allergies (like my seafood allergy) it could potentially turn into an ER visit instead of just being ill.

Waiter was very knowledgeable, most of the food was gluten free and other dishes they were happy to adapt. Without any prompting the waiter highlighted that fried food would risk cross contamination and should be avoided.

Excellent, fresh farm to table food. One of the top 5 meals we have ever had. Do not miss this gem if you are in Santa Barbara. The chef could make almost every item on the menu gluten free. Photo of pork chop with apple bacon chutney served with butternut squash puree. Side is roasted tri color carrots with little dollops of minted yogurt.
