This Five Guys heats their buns on a separate surface from the meat, so there is no cross contact.
The only food item cooked in the fryer is French fries.
I had a very happy experience here with no symptoms.

Staff immediately yelled “GLUTEN ALLERGY!” to the kitchen when I ordered. Had a cheeseburger on a lettuce wrap & fries. I’ve never had a reaction to their fries — the staff changed their gloves and used a scooper for the fries, not their hands. And the only person who touched my burger did not handle any buns etc.
Yes
Maybe ok with the lettuce wrapped burger. They changed gloves & were careful but I would recommend not eating the fries. They don’t fry anything but potatoes but they don’t change gloves between handling burgers & the fries. They build regular burgers & then grab handfuls of fries to drop in the fryer. I had a mild reaction.
Buns are grilled on separate grill, gloves changed before prep and "Allergy Order" was announced after I let the cashier know.
Excellent food. Bun-less burgers and fries are safe (dedicated GF fryer). Reliable and delicious. Staff is careful to avoid cross-contamination.

I appreciate that they always ask if my lettuce wrapped order is an allergy. Fries are the only thing in the fryer, so no worries about cross contamination.

I’ve gone three times in two months and it’s been great every time. I tell them “allergy warning, I have celiac’s”. I order mine on lettuce (they do a really great job at wrapping the burger in lettuce), with everything on it.
I then inform them that my spouse would like a normal bacon burger on a bun. The staff has always reassured me and I hear them tell each other “allergy!” while cooking. They’ve always put my burger in a different bag marked “***ALLERGY***” and there was a red sticker on the tin foil of my burger.
If you’ve never been to a Five Guys, they have a very limited menu of just burgers (bacon, cheese, or plain) in three sizes, French fries (plain or Cajun), and milkshakes.
The only gluten items on the menu are the buns and malt. The chocolate shakes do not automatically come malted, so there’s never been a worry for me there.
