There is always a small risk of cross contamination at a Five Guys because of the employees' gloves touching gluten but nevertheless it is my go-to for fast food and I don't think it's ever made me sick. The only gluten-free thing is the fries, but they're delicious, filling and the only gluten-free fast food fries from any chain I'm aware of.

I have come here multiple times and each time it was a different knowledge level about cross contamination. I've been glutened here several times because people do not change their gloves or they handle bread and then handle my food. Got glutened here today again. The fry cook had touched a bun and then wrapped it up. I asked him to change his gloves, which he did (and clearly wasn't happy about it.) but rather than put the fries in a separate bag, he put it in the main bag on top of the container with the burger. I am not sure if that was the reason I got sick or if someone else earlier in the line didn't change their gloves, but I'm done with this franchise. If you are a celiac and sensitive to cross contamination, AVOID this franchise. They don't know what they're doing and no matter how much you try to communicate, they still mess it up.

Five Guys finally does a lettuce wrap that truly surrounds the burger. So happy I can eat the fries too.

Five guys is great! the fries are yummy and they do a great wrap :)
Excellent food. Bun-less burgers and fries are safe (dedicated GF fryer). Reliable and delicious. Staff is careful to avoid cross-contamination.

I appreciate that they always ask if my lettuce wrapped order is an allergy. Fries are the only thing in the fryer, so no worries about cross contamination.

I’ve gone three times in two months and it’s been great every time. I tell them “allergy warning, I have celiac’s”. I order mine on lettuce (they do a really great job at wrapping the burger in lettuce), with everything on it.
I then inform them that my spouse would like a normal bacon burger on a bun. The staff has always reassured me and I hear them tell each other “allergy!” while cooking. They’ve always put my burger in a different bag marked “***ALLERGY***” and there was a red sticker on the tin foil of my burger.
If you’ve never been to a Five Guys, they have a very limited menu of just burgers (bacon, cheese, or plain) in three sizes, French fries (plain or Cajun), and milkshakes.
The only gluten items on the menu are the buns and malt. The chocolate shakes do not automatically come malted, so there’s never been a worry for me there.
