Five Guys

I have celiac and they were very careful about preparing my meal. Changing gloves, having a dedicated space and all.

I gave them one star for at least trying to accommodate me. I watched the girl preparing burgers for another customer. She held the bun over the veggies and I watched in horror as lettuce touched the bun and fell back in the bin. The cashier said she could make mine in the back with fresh veggies, but I opted to leave. Leaving sad and hungry. 👎

Had to explain the gluten allergy, the girl followed my food down the line and I still got sick!! Ugh! So frustrating!

Excellent food. Bun-less burgers and fries are safe (dedicated GF fryer). Reliable and delicious. Staff is careful to avoid cross-contamination.

I appreciate that they always ask if my lettuce wrapped order is an allergy. Fries are the only thing in the fryer, so no worries about cross contamination.

I’ve gone three times in two months and it’s been great every time. I tell them “allergy warning, I have celiac’s”. I order mine on lettuce (they do a really great job at wrapping the burger in lettuce), with everything on it. I then inform them that my spouse would like a normal bacon burger on a bun. The staff has always reassured me and I hear them tell each other “allergy!” while cooking. They’ve always put my burger in a different bag marked “***ALLERGY***” and there was a red sticker on the tin foil of my burger.

If you’ve never been to a Five Guys, they have a very limited menu of just burgers (bacon, cheese, or plain) in three sizes, French fries (plain or Cajun), and milkshakes.

The only gluten items on the menu are the buns and malt. The chocolate shakes do not automatically come malted, so there’s never been a worry for me there.
