Informed them at start of order wheat allergy. Cashier put generic "allergy warning" on ticket. Ordered cheeseburger with lettuce wrap, grilled onions and mushrooms, tomatoes, pickles and regular fries. Watched them grab foil wrap and lettuce wrap with gloved hands on that they had on touching other orders before mine. Observed their shared chillcase with tomatoes, lettuce, pickles, onion, etc was touched by staff using gloved hands, no tongs. The same gloved hands that touched the hamburger buns on the grill and prior orders to mine. So everything was cross contacted in the chillcase. They changed gloves when my burger was placed on lettuce wrap to wrap up burger. French fries are in their own dedicated space and fryer. Service okay. Burgers NOT safe for Celiac or gluten allergies.

Staff was knowledgeable and took extra precautions for my gluten allergy. Fries are gluten free. I got my burger in a bowl but you can also get it wrapped in lettuce.

I appreciate that they always ask if my lettuce wrapped order is an allergy. Fries are the only thing in the fryer, so no worries about cross contamination.

I’ve gone three times in two months and it’s been great every time. I tell them “allergy warning, I have celiac’s”. I order mine on lettuce (they do a really great job at wrapping the burger in lettuce), with everything on it.
I then inform them that my spouse would like a normal bacon burger on a bun. The staff has always reassured me and I hear them tell each other “allergy!” while cooking. They’ve always put my burger in a different bag marked “***ALLERGY***” and there was a red sticker on the tin foil of my burger.
If you’ve never been to a Five Guys, they have a very limited menu of just burgers (bacon, cheese, or plain) in three sizes, French fries (plain or Cajun), and milkshakes.
The only gluten items on the menu are the buns and malt. The chocolate shakes do not automatically come malted, so there’s never been a worry for me there.
