The fryer is not dedicated to fries, so the fries are not gluten free. The "gluten free" burger is a tasteless, no condiment patty wrapped in half a head of lettuce.

We told them my daughter had a gluten allergy and they asked if she wanted her burger in a bowl or on a lettuce wrap. They then asked if they needed to change their gloves. I almost cried... they understood! I watched them every step of the way and my daughter was so happy to eat french fries.

Five Guys is generally a good choice for Celiacs because the only gluten in the kitchen is the hamburger/hot dog buns. If you tell them you have a gluten allergy, everyone will change their gloves. You have to order the "bunless" option (comes in a tinfoil bowl) but you can eat the fries. Good option when you need something quick.

Five Guys is my favorite chain restaurant to avoid gluttening. Usually, one individual dons gloves and prepares my food. I honestly, let my guard down and didn't pay much attention how my food was prepared. But I do know, when I unwrapped my sandwich, I found a sesame seed on top of the lettuce. Upon notifying the young man who took my order, he washed his hands, donned gloves and made me a new sandwich. Thankfully, I can report super sensitive me, didn't get glutened!

I gave them one star for at least trying to accommodate me. I watched the girl preparing burgers for another customer. She held the bun over the veggies and I watched in horror as lettuce touched the bun and fell back in the bin. The cashier said she could make mine in the back with fresh veggies, but I opted to leave. Leaving sad and hungry. 👎

The manager came up while the cashier was ringing us out and made sure to ask if I was getting my burger bun less due to an allergy and offered to do a lettuce wrap! Very knowledgeable and told me that when they mark it that way it tells the wait staff to change their gloves! What a policy! So happy to have a burger and not have to worry about contamination! Plus they only do French fries in their deep fryers. When I got my order to go my burger was even separated from my husbands because his had buns. SUPER HAPPY!

Get a GF BUN!!! Please! For the love of all that is wonderful in burgerland! Great fries and a huge helping of them. Burgers are a pain in the rear without a bun. I can make a burger patty salad at home thanks. I want a burger with a bun. If they would just offer a GF bun, I'd probably get fat off their burgers and fries. As it is, we only go there when our son requests it and then we have to take it home and put it on a GF bun for him. Needless to say, we don't go often.

When I asked for no bun, they offered a lettuce wrap and asked if it was for an allergy. I said yes and they alerted the kitchen staff. I got a cheeseburger and fries. I added onions and pickles. They have a good selection of toppings. I didn't get any sauces and didn't ask if the mayo was gluten free. They do have ketchup and A1 sauce. Installs the cheese wasn't melted but was melting. Not sure if that was from the coolness of the crisp lettuce. But the cheese was all melted by my second bite. The lettuce was good; it held together through the whole burger. The burger was generous. It's a bit pricy. Back in California, a similar chain would charge $3 but it was about $6 here. The fryer is dedicated to fries. They have no breaded or battered items. The fries were really good. My wife loves them as much as her all time favorite fries. Maybe I won't have to get her "drive through" in the future. They left the potato skins on the fries. And they were cut thicker. I really felt like I was eating potatoes.

What can I say? Ever since I learned how Five Guys handle gluten allergies, I've become a fan. You can get one of their famous burgers in a lettuce wrap or a bowl. If you ask for a bowl due to an allergy, an employee might ask to make sure you don't want the wrap. The bowl is just all the parts of a burger nicely laid out in a small disposable pan. It is not a salad, although you can make it into one.

Gluten free french fries are amazing!! They only use their frier for the fries, so it's a dedicated gf frier! Can order any burger without bun or on lettuce wrap. Have a ton of items that can be added to top the burgers. Also have milk shakes on the menu, but we did not order those so unsure if they are gf.

Burgers are made on separate grill from buns. Fries are gluten free. However, when I was asking if the fries are gluten free and making sure nothing else was fried in the frier, one of the workers felt the need to explain to me that gluten is just flour. Switched gloves but then rested gloved hands in bread crumbs on counter before touching gf burger. Will try another five guys but won't go back to this one.

Wife has Celiac & we've eaten here without any problems 4-5 times. Five Guys does a great job at the corporate level of training everyone on a culture of celiac awareness. This location is no different. As soon as you order "no bun", they immediately ask if it's for an allergy. Then everyone in the kitchen changes gloves to prep the food. They also package/bag it separately from everything else in the order. The staff has been friendly & accommodating about the request every time.
