They always ask if my lettuce wrap request is an allergy or preference. We go here very often and have never gotten sick from their food.

I ordered a cheeseburger without a bun. They asked me if it was for an allergy or preference. I said allergy and the woman on the cash register yelled allergy to the kitchen. The woman on the grill rationed back "allergy." She then started cleaning a counter space. She then put on new gloves and announced "allergy gloves on." She then told me, unsolicited, that she was using fresh ingredients that have been untouched and she wouldn't touch anything but my order until it was complete. I just bought trader Joe gluten free buns across the street. Once order was complete, I put my lettuce wrapped burger on my own bun. Great experience. They only fry potatoes, so they also have a dedicated fryer. They use freshly cut potatoes for their fries. I would avoid the shakes because it looks like they have flavors that contain gluten.

Really good burgers and fries. I Oder my burger in a bowl, not a big fan of GF buns. The hand cut fries orders are huge and fresh. Cooked in peanut oil, lots of peanuts in the shell for snacking on. The shakes are good too. Ask them to change gloves if you are sensitive to cross contamination.
Excellent food. Bun-less burgers and fries are safe (dedicated GF fryer). Reliable and delicious. Staff is careful to avoid cross-contamination.

I appreciate that they always ask if my lettuce wrapped order is an allergy. Fries are the only thing in the fryer, so no worries about cross contamination.

I’ve gone three times in two months and it’s been great every time. I tell them “allergy warning, I have celiac’s”. I order mine on lettuce (they do a really great job at wrapping the burger in lettuce), with everything on it.
I then inform them that my spouse would like a normal bacon burger on a bun. The staff has always reassured me and I hear them tell each other “allergy!” while cooking. They’ve always put my burger in a different bag marked “***ALLERGY***” and there was a red sticker on the tin foil of my burger.
If you’ve never been to a Five Guys, they have a very limited menu of just burgers (bacon, cheese, or plain) in three sizes, French fries (plain or Cajun), and milkshakes.
The only gluten items on the menu are the buns and malt. The chocolate shakes do not automatically come malted, so there’s never been a worry for me there.
