Gluten free focaccia?! So yummy! Had a wonderful sandwich and a laid back pub that felt equal parts bar & grill and coffee house. Added a delish potato salad too and the bartender/server was super friendly and helpful and accommodating with our 5 year old as well.
Decent spot, food is average. Ask them to prep your sandwich on a separate surface and they will. I've never gotten sick.
why Eater recommend this place?? why google??? they don't have nothing GF. except a cake from Mariposa Bakery! worst experience here... scrambled eggs made in a microwave with super dry bacon! cold potatoes...
Nothing fancy but they have solid GF sandwich options including breakfast sandwiches! Their gf foccacia is super soft and yummy. Haven't asked about preparation details but I've never had a reaction there.
Yes
Not safe. I had a reaction that started while eating, in spite of their lip service that the food would be gluten-free.
Learned then that they have no dedicated spaces -- no surfaces, equipment, utensils et all.
Do NOT go if you value your health.
No
Unfriendly girl took our order one morning, didn't offer any suggestions when asked what GF pastries they had. served us a very hard over-microwaved cinnamon bun and tossed our forks at us.
Yes
I ordered a hot dog on a gluten free bun. I could see the guy making it in the kitchen, RIGHT NEXT TO my bf's regular hot dog. He wasn't taking any precautions to prepare mine separately. When it was delivered, I noticed the bun was toasted. I asked if they toasted it in a separate oven, and they said they use the same toaster oven for both regular bread and gluten free bread. I decided not to eat my meal, opting to avoid getting sick from cross contamination.
Very knowledgable owner, dedicated toaster etc. delicious gf bagels!
This is a cross between a bar and a cafe and has a warm neighborhood feel. The folks who run it are super friendly. They have a number of gluten-free bread and pastry options including cornbread, donuts, peanut butter balls, cupcakes, bagels and sandwich bread. They serve the full gamut of sandwiches and salads, plus a couple soups and breakfast choices. They also have hot dogs (gf bun available), and gf onion rings (have not asked about a dedicated fryer). They don't appear to have GF beer, but I haven't asked.
