Friedman’s was so so good and I really felt safe there. The place is small but has a super cute vibe, and everything on the menu sounds super good. I got the vegetable potsticker appetizer and the fried chicken sandwich with fries. These both tasted amazing and you really couldn’t tell they were gluten free.

Fantastic upscale bistro on Upper West Side. Menu has tons of GF options and servers very knowledgeable around celiac. We were a little worried when they brought plates out (with gluten meal stacked near GF dish), but they knew what they were doing. Dedicated fryer (or rather no gluten in any of their fryers!) yielded the most delicious fries and moist, crispy fried chicken. Highly recommend.

Amazing food, great experience. I ate too much and don’t regret it at all.

I got the chicken and waffle, and it was amazing. The breading on the chicken was delightfully crispy, and combined with the habanero honey it was so good! The waffle itself was delicious, too, the cheese giving it a crispiness and depth of flavor that complimented the chicken. Definitely recommend!

Great meal at Friedman’s. 98% of the menu is gluten free, everything is clearly marked, food comes out with GF flags, dedicated fryer, knowledgeable staff, delicious lunch. The fried chicken and cheddar waffle was a highlight!

Love this place! Staff is very knowledgeable about items that contain gluten and cross contamination. Plates made GF come out with a green sticker that says “gluten free.” Yucca fries and Brussels sprouts were amazing!! Tons of great options here.

Delish! I have celiac and my waiter was reassuring almost the whole menu could be made safely gf (except matzo ball soup)!! He said all of the gluten bread is kept separate and gf sandwiches and food has its own prep area. We ordered chicken wings, fries, brussel sprouts, Mac n cheese, and broccoli falafel. Nice big servings! We took plenty to go to reheat later. Lovely staff and great ambiance too. Didn't have to wait for a table on a Monday night. Thanks Friedmans!!!

I love this place. Things to know: there will be a wait for seating. Definitely get a reservation. Especially for brunch. Also, not a TON of vegan options, but enough. Not too overpriced and has great drinks. Good for every meal. A safe choice for a big group… everyone will find something they like. I believe it’s not dedicated GF, but the owner is GF and it’s very safe.

I love this place and I come here often! Just have to let the waiter know and your food will come out marked gluten free. You can have fried chicken, cheesecake and all sorts of stuff!

They have great options and while they’re very knowledgeable about celiac and cross contamination, the waitress told me that none of the bread items are “safe” because they’re toasted/warmed on the same surface as regular bread so that’s a bummer.

They are very informed about celiac safety. Many staff members have celiac and the everyone on staff is very nice and careful. There is a dedicated fryer.

Everything (besides the matzah balls - you can have chicken soup b/c they cook the matzah balls separately - and the chocolate babka) can be made gluten free - including daily specials! Some dishes are only made gluten free (like their pancakes)

Staff was very knowledgeable about celiac/CC/etc. We had a cheeseburger with a yummy GF bun. They have a dedicated fryer. Excellent french fries and overall great food in general.

Great place for clean GF eating. I had the GF Fried chicken and waffle. It was really good - I prefer a little more seasoning personally, but that’s part of my midwestern taste. Server was great, had celiac too and was very knowledgeable about what I could try from the meals my family ordered. I wish the water had ice and the soft drinks came with plastic straws instead of paper, but all in all it’s a 5 star rating because it is safe for celiacs based on my visit.
