Graeter's Ice Cream

We have been to this location and the one on Rangeline Road in Carmel. Both had knowledgeable staff about allergens. Ambleside Dr. location even did an “allergen scoop” with a fresh tub of ice cream and a cleaned scooper so there was no cross contamination. Items aren’t marked gluten free but the staff were willing to double check and/or already knew what was ok for my celiac daughter.

Lots of gluten free flavors! They are always happy to wash the ice cream scoop before serving mine. They are very aware of allergy concerns.

They are super good about opening a new tub for you and using fresh scoops to avoid contamination. Very transparent about ingredients.

Really, really good ice cream. We found a list of gluten free ice cream online and told the server we needed an allergy protocol. The cleaned the scoops and got a fresh container. My dad and I are both celiac and didn’t have any issues eating here!

Looked up online which of their flavors are gluten free and was easy to find on their website. Told the young lady taking my order that I needed to be gluten free and requested fresh gloves and that mine be made from a fresh tub with fresh utensils. She must have been relatively new, but I was very impressed with what happened next. She went to the manager who I then watched train her step by step on what to do. They went to the back, came out with a fresh tub and a fresh scoop a few minutes later, and the manager walked her through the whole thing all while the store was quite busy. I felt extremely well taken care of and am very grateful for the care the manager took, and for the employee asking for help instead of just rushing through it since they were busy.
