Were very careful with my edamame and sashimi, then brought me a dessert to find my ice cream was sitting on top of graham cracker crumbs. That one spoonful wrecked my night for sure. So disappointed.

Sushi rice has vinegar that is not gluten free and it took WAY too long for them to figure this out. Don’t eat here if you have celiac
No
Great sushi and extra careful to prepare my food safely!
Yes
Pricey, but tasty. Got the cucumber roll and some salmon sashimi. Extensive sake list too.
Seriously, best sushi I’ve ever had on the mainland!! They have a separate gluten free menu that’s very detailed and informative. First place I’ve ever had GF and vegan eel sauce- so yummy. This place usually has a long wait, so get there early!
They use rice vinegar that is not gluten free, so anything with rice is not celiac friendly. Their gf menu is not accurate because of this.
Our waitress was phenomenal. Knew every menu option that was able to be made GF.
Only bummer was extra $ for hardly any Tamari. Normally I bring my own but we had just moved here two nights before. Bring your own GF sauce.
GF Japanese Beer is a major plus.
The staff was really friendly and helpful. Not 100% sure on their ingredients but the things I asked the to do they did amazing! And the sushi chef even cleaned his board and knife and prepared all my rolls separately from anyone else's. They brought my food first so I knew there was no contamination. They also have GF soy sauce. They subbed all my imitation crab for veggies and it was great! No reaction!
Yes
They charge extra for gluten free soy sauce. The waitress wasn't very knowledgeable about the menu and gf options.
My review is for the Oceanside location, which I've been to several times. The waitress was completely clueless as to gluten. And b/c the food is all "sustainable", you end up with farmed fish (gross) and fake eel (so what exactly is in it?). It all looks and tastes good, yes. But it's entirely too difficult to navigate, trying to eat GF.
