When I first had to go gluten free, this was the first donut I had and I had missed donuts so much. They offer a really nice selection of regular, gluten free and vegan donuts. They are a little pricey but absolutely delicious!!

This place is beyond good and friendly too! The energy was inviting and the atmosphere warm. We were served by one of the owners and he was as nice a person I have met in sometime. The GF options were perfect and 100% satisfying. I was given a freshly fried, warmed brown butter and sea salt doughnut out the gate. By far the best GF doughnut I have ever had since my diagnosis 8 years ago. I will return for more on my way back home :)

We arrived an hour before closing and had 3 of the original gf choices to select. I got a boysenberry since the reviews had been so good. It was excellent. Great flavored icing and crunchy on the outside good texture inside and I have a cinnamon donut for tomorrow’s breakfast. Chocolate was sold out.

I really liked the atmosphere of the donut and coffee shop. Music was on, employees were happy and hustling. There were a lot of regular donuts and a few trays of gluten free (labeled gluten friendly) due to being made separate area, utensils but same kitchen space. After reading about this place, I went for it! The gf donuts were fantastic! They were flavorful and not all sugary! They were thick but not spongy! They really were good. I will go back!

Delicious cake donuts and a fantastic selection of both GF and vegan options. They are labeled "gluten friendly" because it is not a dedicated bakery and flour can sometimes travel through the air, but they use a dedicated fryer, utensils, and surfaces to prevent cross contamination. My daughter is extremely sensitive to CC and had no reaction.

The BEST GF donuts on the planet! We were in SoCal visiting friends and we are so glad to have found JD Flannel Donuts. There aren't a ton of GF choices but we tried them all and they we EXQUISITE!!!! They are soft! We got a chance to speak with the owner who was just a delight to speak with. 🤤🤤🤤 what a find! This place is incredible!! I was a little concerned about getting donuts from a place that is not entirely gf, but JD Flannel knows what's up.

Taste notes: It had been so long since I have been able to eat what seems like a genuine donut. Most gf donuts are dense and baked, but these scratch made, fried donuts were incredible. I tried to crumb cake, chocolate old fashioned, and maple old fashioned. I also got a vanilla iced latte, which was good, but nothing out of the ordinary. Being a chocolate lover, the chocolate donut was probably my favorite. The maple flavoring was very slight, and the crumb cake seemed to remind me a lot of spice cake. All were still warm when I ate them and delicious.

Cross contamination notes: The person helping me was very patient and answered all of my questions. Their website says that the dough is prepared in a separate area and fried in a separate fryer, but I asked anyways and the employee confirmed.

The gluten free donuts are on the top rack and placed on separate baking sheets from the rest, they also have a separate pair of tongs specifically for those donuts which are stored separately from the tongs for the regular donuts.

The biggest risk of cross contamination I saw was when the donuts were being packaged. I would recommend asking the person helping you if they can wash their hands and change their gloves to avoid any gluteney crumbs being transfered to your containers.

Delicious food. I’ve been going here for years. I have celiac. I don’t seem to have issues when I go but I just got a Nima sensor and tested my gf maple old fashioned and it found gluten. I’m sooo bummed about this. Great donuts but I can’t eat there anymore. Use caution if you’re celiac.

Popped in for a sweet treat on a day date after seeing the good reviews here. We went in for A donut each. We walked out with SIX each - half gf and half full gluten. For the gluten free, I went with a blueberry lemon (x2), boysenberry, birthday cake (x2), and a brown butter something or other.

All of the donuts are perfectly cooked. Hands down the best GF donuts I’ve ever had! The edges are perfectly crispy. The insides are moist. They’re regular donut size too! They don’t look small like something from a play kitchen.

IMO they’re best a little warm. They was a little warm when we got them and had some there. I had some after we got them home and they were completely cool, and they all had a slight flavor to them that gave them away as GF. Idk how to describe it other than I usually only taste it when I have gf muffins. I have no idea what it actually is. I always just relate it to gf muffins.

The birthday cake was my favorite even though I’m team buttercream and it had a dab of whipped frosting on it. It was really good and only available for a limited time

Blueberry lemon was like a muffin too in the shape if a donut with some delicious glaze. The lemon flavor is just a slight hint. I like my lemon blueberry treats to be a bit brighter and less if a hint. If there was a sprinkle of lemon sugar on top to make sure the lemon pops, this would be everything to me. I will still order this one again! Also, the staff helping us said the lemon was light on these, and I still got 2.

Boysenberry was a nice treat! I really like boysenberry, and the flavor comes through really well with a slight bite. Yum!

The last one I got was that brown butter something donut. I wasn’t really feeling this donut, but the staff said it’s the most popular. Is it a well-cooked donut with prefect texture? Yes. It’s the best classic gf donut I’ve ever had and perfect if you’re looking for something classic to pair with a coffee. I’ll probably never order it again. That’s not my thing. I’d go as far to say it may be something offered daily, which gives it an unfair advantage in being most popular. It’s really, really good…for what it is. I wouldn’t turn one down if someone gave me one!

Can’t say enough good things about this place! I had the vanilla (vegan/gf) and chocolate (gf). The chocolate glazed was the best donut that I’ve ever had. Warm, gooey, and crispy edges. My husband had a variety of gluten and enjoyed them all.

Dave the owner was so welcoming and made us our espresso drinks and chatted! My husband said it was the best espresso he has had. Informed us that they plan to ship their donuts soon! Eek!

Gluten free donuts are delicious! Bought the glazed, chocolate, boysenberry, and coffee cake donuts; chose 9 in total. Sold separately, our total was $40. ALL were fresh (some right out of the oven) and tasty and totally worth it! Best gf donuts we’ve had anywhere. Manager (owner?) explained they are very careful with the gf donuts, having separate tongs for regular, gluten free and vegan donuts. He told me the only potential for cross contamination was possibly flour in the air. All family members (gluten free and no restriction person) loved the freshness and flavors. These donuts are big and filling; two people can share one donut. So good! Highly recommend.
