I’ve heard Jersey Mikes is great with celiac so decided to give it a try. I told her from the start I had celiac so couldn’t have any cross contact and needed ingredients that wouldn’t have touched regular bread. She wiped the counters and the meat slicer down before starting my sandwich but then put it down at the regular toppings/ingredients counter. I asked if they had ingredients in the back and they said no. So I got a plain sandwich. Wish they would’ve told me they didn’t have that before when I told them what I needed.. then I’m pretty sure the guy proceeded to cut my sandwich in half with the same knife they use for everyone. Maybe it’s just this location but not a great experience. Didn’t feel understood.

Every time I go, they always make my food in a separate slicer and kitchen. They seems to be very good with GF and celiac. They have their own gluten free bread which is delicious and all toppings are freshly grabbed for me. Never had a bad experience:)

My sandwich was prepared in a separate GF kitchen! Super friendly and accommodating. Loved my experience! It’s so nice to be able to eat a sub from a restaurant!

They have a separate meat slicer and prep area! They wash their hands, change gloves, use dedicated meat and toppings! I hope more places will learn and follow Jersey Mikespro procedures!

Subway jimmy John have nothing on this place. Bread is great. So much better then a lettuce leaf
Absolutely my favorite gluten free “fast food” place in the Gurnee area. They always go above and beyond and some staff know me as a gluten free regular!
Yes
Quick and friendly service. Fresh and tasty food for quick food. They have gluten free bread. They will ask if it is a lifestyle choice (no cleaning), mild sensitivity (quick wipedown), or allergy (involved cleaning). If you are a celiac, I suggest not coming during a busy time or when you are in a rush because it takes awhile for them to do a good cleaning.
Yes
I was super impressed! They wiped down the counters and the slicer, washed their hands and pulled all the ingredients from fresh containers. I was hesitant to try it but glad I did! I wouldn’t recommend going in during peak hours as they do spend time making the effort to cut out cross contamination.
Yes
$2.50 extra for gluten-free bread. Sandwiches are good. They were pretty good with precautions. Still, if I were super sensitive, I’d be worried about the amount of wheat flour crumbs floating around.

Service took a while. I ordered ahead of time even. I waited around 15 minutes once I arrived and was told it would take longer because of my allergy. Overall bread was hard and fell apart while eating it.

I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon to get a gf sub. They asked allergy or preference, wiped down the counter, put down paper, used a clean knife, changed gloves, and were cool about grabbing toppings from the back. They even moved the sandwich to fresh paper at the end of the line instead of wrapping in the paper that had sat on crumbs. Altogether I was impressed! At most locations I have to correct things as I go down the line, but the two staff who interacted with me here seemed very well trained on gf protocols.

They ask if you have an allergy or preference when it comes to the gluten free bread. After stating I have an allergy they cleaned the slicer, the counter, and all of the staff switched gloves. A new employee had accidentally used the mayo knife so they gave me new bread and then they use the squeeze bottle of mayo to prevent cross contamination. Everyone was very friendly, understanding, and aware of how to handle my allergy.

Amazing processes and protocols for safe handling of gluten free sandwiches to avoid cross contact. They explained their protocol to me without me prompting or asking any leading questions, showing me that know how to prevent cross contact.
