Very slow. Took a long time to get seated in a nearly empty restaurant, and even longer to get our food, which was only warm.
We have been coming here for years. Great GF burgers and GF pasta dishes. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Kid friendly.
The staff is very accomodating, and they have decent GF options. They no longer offer GF fries, which is a bummer. The GF hamburger buns fall to crumbs with the slightest touch, but they are at least edible. No upcharge for GF burger on the kids menu- that's very Celiac friendly in my book.
Staff was very aware of Celiac, manager came over and assured me that everything would be done separately, manager even delivered my food to assure there would be no CC. Fries were awesome and done in separate fryer. Best part was that I didn't get sick, I will definitely go back!
Was delicious! The manager even came out and walked through and promised my food would be cooked separately. It was great to have fries and delicious separate safe tasty food!
anytime a manager follows up with the table after the order is made to to ensure safty score major points with me. They as good as PF Changs. Looking for frys and a great burger look no further. enjoy
Used to be one of my favs... Now they don't have pizza anymore and the bun for the burger fell apart when I picked it up... Wings were great though
delish and many options
I called a week prior and the hostess answering the phone was able to answer all my questions about gluten free options and food preparation. Our waiter was extremely knowlegable about gluten free food preparation and menu options. Our food was delivered by the manager separately to avoid contamination. The food was cooked to perfection and was delicious. We enjoyed the brunch (egg omlette, bacon, fresh fruit & fresh squeezed OJ). Plan on returning quite often. I highly recommend for anyone with celiac disease or gluten sensitive. Also family friendly. The name does not do the restaurant justice...much nicer!
The food here is so good. The entire staff here listen and take food allergies very seriously. I love the food and feel absolutely safe eating here.
great food, good prices, nice staff with a good knowledge about the disease!
Had GF burger buns and fries which was a nice surprise. Take food allergies very seriously. Also offer GF pasta.
The staff is very helpful. As soon as your waitress comes to your table they ask whether or not you may have any allergen. Then they point out what you can eat on the menu and explain that your food will be completely cooked separately, and that it may take a little longer to prepare ( and it wasn't even that long). The manager comes to your table and discusses everything with you. There food is amazing and I will defiantly go back there.
Sooo good!!! The waitress was not that good and under educated she had no idea that they offered gluten free options we had to literally tell her . As soon as the manager found out he came right over and explained how things would be made and that he will make sure it is all good. Had the nachos and buffalo chicken pizza they were both delish!
Very knowledgable managers. Food was excellent. They fry the nachos in separate oil if you ask for gluten free nachos. Yum. Also buffalo chicken pizza was a 10!
Plenty of gluten free options including gluten free bread and French fries
They have gluten free pizza and it's great. crust is good and kind of thick compared to other gluten free pizzas
Manager and server were very knowledgeable and super accommodating for our gluten and dairy free needs. The French dip was very good and a nice change from the burger I usually end up with when I go out because that is the only option. My daughter was thrilled to get gf pasta with marinara. Highly recommend this place.
Although they don't have a gluten-free menu, the staff is very knowledgeable. I told my server that I was gluten-free and he pointed out all of the gluten-free appetizers and entrées right away. They have an amazing chicken broccoli ziti. Awesome place
Despite not having a separate GF menu, they have a large GF selection on adult and kids menus. They are totally accommodation as well....the manager came right over after we let the waiter know our daughter has Celiac and he affirmed their desire to make it a great dining experience for her. She got a separate GF bread basket when ours came, and we had ordered a spinach dip...they brought her a separate basket of GF chips which they explained had just been fried in new clean oil. One of the most Celiac/GF experiences we have had, and the food is fantastic!
This PAINS me to write a bad review- Joes has been my favorite restaurant for years. But as a recently diagnosed celiac, this was my first trip there eating GF. Long post- but hopefully you read it and it will help prevent this happening to you. I asked the hostess for a GF menu, she said they don't have a separate menu but they have GF pasta and bread so pretty much the whole menu can be made GF and that the server could help with more info. So I was pretty excited. Asked the server when he came over and his response (in an annoyed tone) was for me to tell him what I wanted and he would tell me if it was GF. So I asked for the Honey Mustard Chicken Salad (my favorite dish there). He said yes, that can be made GF. Score. I had heard from other reviews here that when you say you need GF, they usually bring out a GF roll with the bread- he did not offer. I chose to ignore it. Food finally comes out-brought out by the chef no less so I felt comfortable that they took the time to take care of my food- but then I noticed he was carrying Everyone at our tables. Then I quickly noticed that my salad which normally comes with pasta, was pasta free. Confused, since he said that salad specifically could be made GF, and the hostess said they had GF pasta. So I asked, and he said no, they only have GF penne, not angel hair.... So, essentially making this salad GF was removing all of the elements from the salad. And my $15 salad was nothing more than a garden salad with grilled chicken. So, fine. Miscommunication. Wait staff should be more clear in my opinion...but wouldn't let that ruin my meal. Continue to eat my salad, get half way thru, and I found a noodle in my salad. A noodle. In my GF salad. I called the manager over- she was very nice and apologetic, asked if I wanted anything else blah blah. Said they usually take allergies very seriously. Not mad at her, she did her job to clean up their mess. I wasn't rude but left very upset. The fact that the waiter then said "sorry things didn't go as planned" to me several times had me steaming. Now looking back I have several issues: 1) how does 1 little noodle get mixed in the salad? Did they add the pasta, realized it shouldn't have it and then took it off, minus one noodle? So my salad was completely exposed? Did the noodle fall in? I don't understand. 2) also realized when taking my order, the waiter offered me grilled or crispy chicken... How were they planning on making crispy GF chicken? 3) because of this wondering if he even put my "allergy" on the ticket or if he just said "no noodles". Clearly this waiter wasn't properly trained... And that's scary. I think they try hard to be gluten and celiac friendly- and hopefully this was a one time instance... But I'm so sad this happened.
Love that I can have a Gfree roll like everyone else at the table with my own butter that is soft and creamy. (it is the hamburger roll but still good) Great selection of GFree items including pasta. Blackened chicken pasta is one of my favorites. I got the Cobb Salad on father's day and was a little disappointed. It was very tiny and not much flavor. I have had the wild green salad which comes with dark meat chicken and loved it.
Excellent care & customer service with my needs. The sweet potato fries are the best I've ever had. They have a dedicated GF fryer. I also had a great burger with swiss cheese and mushrooms. They offer GF buns as well. They have a manager or chef bring the food out and say that it is GF. Love that confirmation! Highly recommend. Busy location. Plan accordingly.
I have never had a bad experience here. The food and the service is always wonderful. Everytime I have gone to this location the staff has been extra careful to make sure that my food is all safe for me to eat. It is also the only place I have ever been able to request gluten free bread in place of the regular complimentary bread and almost all the menu items can be made to be gluten free. I wpuld reccomened this resteraunt to anyone who has celiac and is looking for a good place to eat!
Went on a busy Saturday evening with a small group for a friend's birthday. I asked the waitress which items could be made gluten free and let her know that I had celiac and was a vegetarian. She started rattling off items at high speed and I finally asked her if I could just have Mac and cheese using the gluten free pasta. She seemed very confused and asked if I wanted Mac and cheese put ON the pasta... I re-explained and eventually she said yes. She brought bread for the table but no gluten free rolls. My order came out with everyone else's, with another plate on top of mine. There was a small piece of lobster in my dish, but since I couldn't find the waitress, I took it out and ate my meal. I felt sick within a half hour. They may be more diligent about gluten-free food prep during the week, but I'd definitely advise against going here during peak hours; they're clearly too busy to care.
Absolutely horrible food. If you think the pizza is delicious, then you don't know what good gluten-free pizza tastes like. I ordered the pizza and it tasted like a cardboard box.... I was so disgusted that I couldn't eat it, so I sent it back for the pasta, which wasn't enjoyable whatsoever - the noodles were crunchy and stuck together. I've had at least a hundred different gluten-free pizzas from various shops and restaurants in different states, and this was one of the worst. Never going back.
I had the house salad (no croutons) and a side of the gluten free Mac and cheese. The waitress noted that I have celiac and double checked with the cook to make sure the Mac and cheese was gluten free. The manager delivered my food to confirm with me that it had been made separately to avoid contamination. The food was delicious.
Felt very comfortable ordering from here. Although the gluten free options are limited, they are tasteful. When I told the waiter I had celiac, the manager came over to talk to me and tell me my entire meal will be prepared in a gluten free dedicated space.
After explaining to the waitress that we needed gluten free we were assured that what we asked for could be made gluten free. Within minutes of eating, one of our party was vomiting and another was feeling sick. By the time we got back to the hotel, three of us were showing signs of being glutened. The only item we had in common were the gluten free rolls.
Service was good, but the food was tasteless. Gluten free buns were gross. They were mealy, dried out and had a very odd taste to them. The gf rolls are not rolls, but their gf hamburger buns grilled. The French fries were thick, but soggy and completely tasteless. 2 people in our group got sick from the food. My son with a serious gluten problem became ill within minutes of eating.
I ordered the GF Mac and Cheese with GF Fries and it was amazing. The fries were thick, warm, and crispy. They werent those skinny little french fries. They had "meat" to them which I loved. The Mac and Cheese was a little heavy on the cheese but I still loved it. Also got a GF roll. It was warm & soft. Great service & a great atmosphere to be in. Definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone.
Great place. Staff was very knowledgeable. We asked the hostess abotu GF options and she confidently told us that although there was not a separate GF menu, about 90% of the choices could be made GF. Our waiter even had celiac so he REALLY understood our needs. They served us warm GF rolls with butter. We ordered GF pasta, GF mac & cheese and a burger with a GF bun (no extra charge!) and fries made in a dedicated fryer. The chef brought out most of the food so it was clear that pay extra attention to GF needs.
Staff is always incredibly helpful and cautious. Most of the menu can be made gluten free and they know exactly what isn't safe. A manager always checks in with is and brings us our food. One time, the manager even gave us a package of the gf pasta they use to take home since we loved it so much. This is my go to restaurant in the city.
so, we went here partially because we couldn't find a different place. Luckily, it was DELICIOUS. The manager came out and talked to us multiple times to make sure I was ok, our food was tasty, and my husband really liked his veggie burger. I had a normal burger that was tender and juicy even though I asked for medium well, which I know is hard to keep juicy. They have a dedicated fryer, so I also got to have fries, which made me super happy. My allergy is pretty extreme and I'm feeling good, so I /think/ you'd be ok even if you're celiac.
Blah food. I was pleased that the waitress checked with the chef to see if the sliced prime rib with jus was gf. However, the steak was well done and the jus is not gf. She never mentioned that to me, so it was quite dry. They did put the sandwich on a gf bun for me. She didn't refill water and brought an ice tea after the meal was finished. As others said.its not very timely.
Love this Joe's location as well! Like all locations, Joe's offers GF/Dairy-Free bread, and gluten free pasta making almost all menu items interchangeable to gluten free entrees! Manager was extremely nice and waiter was very knowledgable, never a stomach ache after eating at Joe's!
