excellent service and knowledge of allergies. seperate, quite extensive GF menu. food was good as well. definitely a good choice in NYC.
Ate here for dinner - had the GF Saigon Roll & the GF Chicken Pad Thai. SEPARATE GF MENU and gluten free food is served on a square plate. Portions were large and the service was good.
Good portion, average price for nyc 15.95 for General Tso's chicken. Did not get sick. It was a little dry but luckily it was in a lot of sauce so it could make up for it.
Such a treat to have crispy sesame and tempura and other treats, and at a reasonable price! Only downside is no lunch specials for GF so no benefit to going at lunch vs dinner. But as a sensitive Celiac who travels often to NYC for work, the last thing on my mind is a couple of extra bucks for Celiac safety. Also love Lilli & Loo (sister store with similar menu).
Separate GF menu ✔️ As always, it's safe to confirm "this is gluten free right?" when the food comes out (I do that everywhere). Had 2 delicious sushi rolls and edamame. I bring my own soy sauce packets everywhere since the restaurant tamari is sometimes in a ceramic container + not clearly labeled.
Excellent gluten free options! Well versed on gluten sensitivity!
The atmosphere is a little lacking and it's small but they do have a a gluten free menu and their (gf) general tso chicken was good.
Has lots of options for gluten free people!
This restaurant is consistently delicious. There aren't many places to get GF Chinese and it's not cheap, but it is consistently delicious!
Great place to eat, lots of options. The wontons were very tasty and they give you big portions.
Very good Chinese. Dumplings and general tso chicken like the old days. We had fried rice too. Good find
Very, very careful to be truly gluten-free and the sesame chicken was the best I've had (including in my previous life of gluten-laden foods).
Great gluten free menu! Best Chinese food I've ever had. I highly recommend this:) my husband is a celiac and adored this place!
Huge gf menu with tons of options and no cross-contamination. I have celiac and have gotten takeout from Lili's 57 at least 20 times and have never had a reaction. Delicious food, too - you'd never guess it's gluten free. My friend even thought my gluten free sesame chicken tasted better than her non-gf one.
An amazing gluten free menu with SO MANY options! The waiter assured me that they prepare all the gluten free orders separately, and my dinner was delicious. It's a real treat to find celiac-safe, relatively-authentic Asian food!
amazing love it i have had so many things and i can say yes u will enjoy
Dedicated gf menu, tasty food. A few hours later I was writhing in pain--I got glutened badly. I can only guess contaminated frying oil or an incompetent wait person.
Had the steamed dumplings and General Tso's chicken. Good was great, service was fast.
Very good gluten free choices. And huge portions.
The food was great! I recommend the dumplings and General Tso's! The restaurant blends into the surroundings, walked past it a few times before noticing the door by the subway entrance.
Fantastic GF chinese food! especially GF dumplings that you simply can't find anywhere.
Amazing GF Chinese food - get the General Tso's chicken! Read more: http://glutenfreecarolinagirl.com/2014/11/06/gluten-free-at-lilis-57-gluten-free-at-lilli-loo/
GF Chinese?!?! A-M-A-Z-I-N-G‼️ Felt like I wasn't GF!!! So many great items to choose from, I couldn't believe it!
Fantastic food! You can't get a lot of this stuff anywhere else!
I love chinese food; have celiac; and have eaten here many times without getting ill. I love the food and the service is very good. I am surprised to hear other celiacs who stated they have had issues here. I was sick last night from a local italian place with a gf menu (Anne's in Summit) on my first visit; so wanted to say i have eaten at Lilly and Loos, both here and the Lexington branch at least 10 times, without a problem.
This place has an entire extensive menu dedicated to gluten-free, the food is delicious and the service is friendly and quick. It's one of my favorite restaurants now!
Excellent! We had fabulous gf general tsu chicken and lettuce wraps. I highly recommend!!!
Fantastic! Great gluten free menu, reasonable prices, large servings.
This place is terrific. The gf general tsu chicken and sesame chicken were divine. The tempura gf shrimp was delicate, crisp and perfect. What a treasure for celiacs! Very good and respectful service.
I'm a Celiac and I LOVE this place. I love Asian food and here don't want to worry about cross contamination. So great.
They have a huge Gluten Free Menu and they worked with the Gluten Intolerant Group to build their menu and establish their gf practices. I got the Salt & Pepper Squid (fried!), General Tso Chicken and a Carnegie Sushi roll. The sushi was probably the best I've had. The food was delicious and so well-priced! Would go again and again.
Delicious! Thanks to the earlier reviewer, I had crispy sesame chicken for the first time in more than 5 years! And the separate gf menu is multi paged, with so many choices. My gf food was served on a different shaped plate than my husband's regular meal, helping it be more apparent care is taken to differentiate.
Tons of gluten free options! So delicious, couldn't be happier!
It's the first time I have had sesame chicken in 4 years! Great selection and portion size. Could have shared my order w my husband but didn't want to. :) Great service and I didn't have any adverse reactions and I am very sensitive.
I've been here numerous times and never had an issue. There food is fresh, delicious and definitely gf. The staff is educated and professional, also the atmosphere is clean and comfortable.
Just had lunch delivered to the office & had a bad reaction :( I will not be eating here again
sesame chicken was delicious and I didn't have a bad reaction here! staff was very accommodating and specifically made sure to state that my dish was gluten free when they brought it out. am looking forward to trying many other dishes here
I have had Celiac for 14 years and am VERY sensitive. The staff all know about celiac and go way out of their way to ensure your safe- they obviously want to be known as celiac safe. Best dumplings!! They even provide GF soy sauce with sushi. The shrimp tempura sauce can make them a bit soggy if you get delivery so ask for it on the side. Excellent customer service- 5 stars for sure.
Have eaten here at least a dozen times over the last two years without a reaction. Sort of pricy, but the serving size is huge, and Chinese is such a rare treat for a gluten free diet.
My wife had a reaction here.
I had a reaction from the gluten free menu.
Delicious! We got the General Tso Chicken, Mongolian Beef, and pork dumplings. PORK DUMPLINGS! We were very happy with our food. Plus, the food came so fast.
If you're in NYC and like Chinese, you'll love this place!! The spicy calamari appetizer and pork dumplings, general tso's chicken, sweet and sour chicken, the list goes on!! Fabulous food, fabulous service and no issues... Gluten free, dairy free and no msg!! We will be back :))
My all time favorite GF Chinese restaurant, everything is great except the sushi. But why eat sushi when you go Chinese. I never had a problem after eating any of their dishes.
Food taste great. service was excellent.
Ok the food wasn't awful - they forgot steamed rice for a very rich dish - but I had a reaction almost immediately after eating here. I usually don't have a problem with Thai. I suspect not a Gf kitchen like others said
Good GF menu, food was not great, service was marginal.
Gluten free menu but not a celiac safe kitchen. Somewhat indifferent wait staff took our order and then delivered plates noting which were gluten-free and which (my husband's) were not. Nonetheless within 45 minutes to an hour later, my son and I were both feeling queasy and awoke feeling ill. In retrospect, the kitchen, such as we could see it, looked too small to have separate areas and clearly they don't clean adequately when prepping GF menu items.
They have great dumplings. I have celiac myself great place to go when you want Asian cuisine .
Impressive gluten-free menu, including sushi, even tempura. The garden roll was decent, and the General Tao (tofu) was very good. even came with a side of broccoli. it was so nice to have gluten-free soy sauce at the table, too.
I have been eating here regularly for almost 4 years. They are diligent about keeping their customers safe and well fed. The pork dumplings are sinfully good and I have day dreams about the pad thai.
great selection. delicious food. excellent service. limited seating but worth it. even non celiac/gf husband loved everything we had. would go to again and again!! no reaction as staff took proper precautions
Staff seemed knowledgable of GF items on menu. Food was decent with good variety, but a bit overpriced given quality. Atmosphere doesn't hold up to price but I did takeout which was a breeze.
GF Asian-fusion with separate menu. Staff is something to be desired, uncaring & rushing. Stick to delivery or take out.
Quick delivery, large variety of GF options, and reliable. I've had 50+ meals from them (mostly delivery) and have never had even a hint of post-meal gluten problems. The food is good -- not standout, but enjoyable -- and the restaurant and delivery staff have always been nice. Good spot for a quick lunch or pre-Carnegie Hall/pre-theater dinner. A top choice for local GF delivery or takeout.
First, user reviews from multiple sites seem to indicate that this restaurant may no longer be gluten-free. I was there myself two weeks ago with my girlfriend for lunch and there was no gluten free menu available. Second, I cannot highly emphasize highly enough how terrible the service is at this restaurant. I don't know if I have ever seen as unprofessional and rude a staff. With plenty of other great restaurants in the area, many of which can prepare gluten-free dishes, there's no reason to waste time at this establishment which has clearly gone very far downhill.
I won't say it's the best Asian around, but the delivery is remarkably fast. Add to that it's GF & I'm happy.
the madison ave location (lilli and loo) is better.
great lunch choice when I have to work in nyc.
The owners daughter is a celiac so they take it seriously. I was in NY for 4 days and eat here 3 times. wonderful to be able to eat Chinese food that is GF. highly recommend it.
A wonderful gluten-free friendly restaurant! We ordered the lettuce wrap appitizer, which was amazing! They brought out gluten free soy sauce for our maharati sushi, which was also delicious. Our main course was the coconut curry shrimp..it was good, though the taste was a little different than I expected so it was my last favorite of all three. They even serve gluten free beer! A great place-definitely going to visit there again!
Excellent food and great gluten-free options. Best tom yum soup I've had since Bangkok
Knowledgeable staff. Great food.
Good chinese for dine-in or takeout. GF menus right on the counter and takeout containers are marked GF, which is comforting. Sesame chicken is good; my favorite was the similar Chicken with Honey Walnuts. Also like the coconut chicken soup. it' not cheap, but I could usually make two meals out of the takeout order.
