Not a place for anyone with celiac disease. The GF menu is a joke. It's the restaurant menu with a different cover (sourdough bruschetta? Lasagna? really?).
Our waiter did not understand our questions and I felt uncomfortable ordering. If at some point the place was GF friendly, it's not anymore.
No
I am Celiac and after reading great reviews for this restaurant I decided to take my boyfriend here for a romantic dinner. Unfortunately after speaking with our waiter he advised that all of the GF items are fried in the same fryers as non GF items and the GF pasta is cooked in the same water as non GF pasta. What a disappointment after reading the restaurant was GIG trained. We left without ordering any food. I hope that they realize how sick someone can get due to cross contamination. And supposedly the owners son is Celiac?! I don't understand how the staff could advertise they are certified and be so uneducated. It had to be one of the worst dining experiences I have encountered so far and would NOT recommend someone with food allergies eating here.
Had a good overall experience. Very knowledgeable wait staff and host made us feel comfortable that there would be no x-contam. Pasta was delicious. Only down-side is that they did not have gf pizza in stock, which my kids had their heart set on. Be sure to call in advance to ensure that they have the pizza avail. Beautiful views of manhattan skyline too!
Absolutely amazing gluten free restaurant. Owner's daughter had celiac and totally gets it. He was so nice and went through everything I could have. He also sells cookies and desserts that are delicious. I may spend my whole vacation eating here.
Great gluten free menu! Chef Peter is great and is one of the best Chefs we have come across for catering to the gluten free community!
