Leaving a review to lower the rating as this site is supposed to be used to help people find safe restaurants...and this is 100% not one of them. The Mendocino chain is NOT CELIAC SAFE, and is GF only by Los Angeles fad-diet standards. Certainly doesn't deserve a 4-star rating on FMGF...

NOT CELIAC SAFE!! Staff is very honest about everything being made on the same surface!! Gluten cross contact is everything. Shared surfaces, utensils, ingredients. Not safe at all.

Good sandwich on grilled gf bread. I had the Prociuttio and Mary's chicken with pesto. I'll let you know later if I get sick.

Many GF salad options and they have GF bread as well. This particular location says that if you notify them you are ordering for an "allergy" they will assign one employee to make the order themselves (as opposed to the normal production line) in order to minimize risk of contamination. The kitchen is open and viewable as in all locations so you can see if they're doing it right.

Worth mentioning the food here is really good!

Not celiac friendly. They take zero precautions for cross contamination. It's specifically stated that it's not safe for celiacs. So how they can label it as gluten free is silly. All these positive reviews are clearly by a bunch of people who have a made up allergy.

The sandwiches & salads here are so good! They use bread from Rising Hearts bakery (extra charge) & when you order gluten-free & specify that it's an allergy they change their gloves & such. The menu is clearly marked with what can be made gluten-free. It's the only place I ever order GF sandwiches from. So good.

Best gluten free bread I’ve had in a while! They do charge extra but nothing new. Menu is well marked with GF options

They were very accommodating to my gluten sensitivity and even cleaned the countertop to ensure no cross contamination. Very much so recommend!
