We ate at Miguel's after reading all the 5 star ratings. Most seem to come from people who are celiac. That no doubt makes it even more of a relief to find a place that works. However ... the food simply wasn't amazing, as I would expect from that consistently high of a rating. It was just okay. The posole was decent and my husband enjoyed his gorditos (not gluten free). The red and green sauces were just okay, and the potatoes that came with my Huevos Rancheros seemed frozen and a little watery. I in no way mean to knock the establishment. It seems to be run by good people Just manage your expectations if you're looking for a more gourmet New Mexico dining experience. I would choose elsewhere for that. Prices are reasonable.

The place was amazing. I’m celiac and haven’t Had a Chile relleno for probably a decade. The owner, staff and cooks were very accommodating with everything. They have gluten-free options clearly labeled on their menu, which is most of the menu. If you haven’t eaten here yet, you need to do so.

Couldn’t have felt more safe here. The gentleman who helped me was extremely knowledgeable about cross contamination and went over every option with me. I landed on chicken enchiladas with green salsa and it was so so good (and spicy!). Safe side was the potatoes which were also delicious. Rice and beans and chips are cross contaminated.

Best GF experience on the road we’ve ever had! The owner sat down with us to go over the menu with my daughter who is Celiac. We highly recommend it and we’ll be stopping in again on our way back!

My husband and I have eaten here a few times. He's a sensitive celiac and today I went inside and got to talk to the owner. My husband hasn't gotten sick so far but I did find out that the fryer is not dedicated. The owner did say that they fry the sopapias in there and today the oil was not changed so chili renos were off the table along with crispy tacos. They did forget a plate I ordered as well as salsas and the food was ok. I think for safety reasons we probably won't return unfortunately. I think for gluten sensitive this place is great! But celiacs be careful.

Small mom and pop restaurant with many gluten free options. The menu is clearly labeled with gf items. The owner came to our table and explained how careful they are about preparation. The chips and salsa are especially good.

Very small, informal place with great food. We were told everything on the menu is gluten-free, except burritos and one other thing for breakfast.
One note of caution: the soup that came with dinner had noodles in it. So ask specifically about the daily soup.
Food was good. The fajitas were excellent and the molė chicken was very good. No gluten issues 36 hours later.
Patio seating and indoor seating.

This is the second time I've been here with my husband who's celiac. We are always happy to have a chance to eat out and be safe. So far he hasn't gotten sick and was so happy to have chile rellenos. From what I understand the owners daughter has celiac so it's nice to know the staff understands the food allergy as a lot of places nearby don't even know what gluten free means. Will be back again soon!

My favorite place in Las Cruces! Can order almost anything off the menu. The food is good and it is safe. This is my go-to place to dine when in Las Cruces, and I love to carry-out from here, too. Check the hours before you go. Right now, they close at 3 PM but that hasn’t been changed in this app.

I called and asked the standard question and was worried because the person I talked to didn't seem like she knew too much, but I used to go here a lot before I moved so I gave it a try and I'm soooooo glad I did! The waitress asked immediately if I was GF or celiac. She told me what was safe and not. They have a separate fryer for celiac friend chips and they were amazing! Several option for celiac, tones of options for those who are gluten free. A must try!

Staff very knowledgeable about gluten and cross contamination. I felt safe eating here. Had chicken quesadilla and the taco soup. Both were great. The chips for the salsas were GF. Great place.

I am from New England, and this was an amazing treat. I can’t do dairy either, but had no problem finding enough to choose from. The staff was very knowledgeable and super willing to work with. My waitress even said “you need a place to eat, too!”. I’m not crying, you’re crying!! Also, the food was super amazing delicious!!

This place is wonderful!!! Most things on the menu are gluten free. My husband loves coming here because he feels “normal” since he can just order whatever he wants. If you love New Mexican food and need gluten free come here!!!

Such good food! The staff and owner were so helpful and welcoming. It's great for my celiac daughter to have so many options other than tacos. All of the food was great!

You can get most anything gluten free. They food was good. I thought the chicken for the tacos was salty, but my daughter liked it.

The meal was affordable and really hit the spot. The staff are friendly and FAST. My girlfriend is Celiac and the staff we're extremely accommodating. Most of the menu can be made GF - they even advertise GF on the outside of the building. Good, quick, Mexican food.

Wonderful gluten free menu, knowledgeable wait staff, and the most amazing chips and salsa bar totally gluten free!

They made a batch of corn chips cooked in separate oil for me, to ensure no cross contamination. And took all precautions to ensure my food was Celiac safe. The service was friendly, the staff knowledgeable, and the food delicious.

Fresh, fresh food, dozens of options, a friendly and knowledgeable staff--this small family restaurant was perfect while driving cross country. Multiple hot sauces, even a chile relleno that was gf! And attractive prices. I had to get a slice of homemade flan to take with me, and it was lovely, maybe even made with multiple types of milks.
Highly recommended and would go again. (The manager/owner even pointed out how to get back to my motel!)
I think someone with Celiac would do well here--I can usually tell immediately if I get wheat gluten, and I did fine with an order of fresh chips, three different sauces, and an Amador trio plate plus the flan. No problems an hour out. Stuck to water for a drink.
very friendly and patient staff, willing to answer any question you may have about the menu. all sauces and salsa's are gluten free. I am on a very strict diet. I had the beef tacos without cheese and had no reaction. it was very good so was their red sauce and all their salsa. will definitely be back often!!! 😊

I was looking for a simple non chain store feel restaurant where i could eat gluten and dairy free. Miguel's was perfect. It gave me a traditional feel, the wait staff was very nice and consistant, the food was good, and the prices are decent. I will go back there for sure. Most of their gluten free is just replacing the flour tortilla with corn.
corn tacos are amazing. thu and friday $1.25

My favorite restaurant in Las Cruces
Super tasty Mexican food! All of the gluten free options are clearly marked on the menu, and there are a LOT of them. Definitely my best gluten free restaurant experience in Las Cruces.
Oh wow! Very great and authentic food. Chile relleno was amazing! We tried all of our favorites and they were all very good. Definite keeper.
Must try! Good spicy food!
Excellent place. Great service and very knowledgable about the gf diet. They have a salsa that will light you on fire!

Great GF options! Even my kids loved it!
Excellent! So many gf choices and all made in the restaurant. The owner is so friendly. The flan is delicious!
This place was fantastic!! The manager was more than courteous, he have us a rundown of the GF options and we talked for a few minutes about our trip, as well! The food was PERFECT. They have fantastic Chile Relleno, eggs, safe chips, table cream, salsas, green/red chili-- everything was on point AND authentic (New) Mexican food. After traveling through the rainy south back home to AZ this place felt greatly comfortable and can't wait to stop at Miguel's again while on the road. Thanks again to ALL of Miguel's staff (who were awesome) and manager! Definitely Celiac and food lover friendly. :)
