Review update: Cafeteria style service. GF items clearly marked. Went for lunch today and watched food preparer drop uncooked pitas on dirty floor and put them into oven anyway in plain view of everyone in line. Will not be going back bc food safety is not a priority, and I don’t have confidence in items marked gluten free.

I haven’t had pita in years and I ordered the pick three plate with the gluten free pita and I am so happy! This is my first time ordering from here and am so please!! So delicious!!! Their gluten free pita is prepared on a dedicated grill.

One of my new favorite places after a recent move to Raleigh! 1, the food is delicious. GF pita is incredibly fluffy—non GF boyfriend couldn’t tell the difference. 2, they deliver via DoorDash and have options to mark allergy for each order, and it comes clearly printed out on the ticket on the bag. 3, I’m not ashamed to admit in the week after moving in, I got delivery from here two days in a row, and did not get sick in the slightest. Both days I had the platter with lamb or steak kabob, GF pita, hummus (the jalapeño is so yummy!) and the potato salad. Online they note the GF pita is grilled on a gluten free grill, and I felt comfortable after reading that. Highly recommend!

I had the veggie and feta pita pocket on a gluten free wrap and it was incredible! Fries and falafel were also delicious!

Portable gluten detector tested to less than 20ppm. Lasagna was delicious!! They’re generous with portions. Truly amazing

Amazing food! Almost everything is gluten free except one rice variety. They have gluten free pita option too. The dolmas are unbelievably good, highly recommend. Have large assortment of gf baked goodies too. Deli style dining—servings are large and options are plenty. Best gf food yet in Raleigh!!

Ordered a gluten free chick pea/sweet potato salad. Half way through eating, discovered 5 pieces of orzo. Not safe if you have celiac.

Pita was amazing! But to Zieke was also good. They had several items also in the Lebanese store that I like.

GF pita bread, JPs Bakery desserts, lots of available menu items. There is even GF lasagna, though it’s not DF.

Superb food, reasonably priced and gf items clearly marked. MANY gf options to choose from
The epitome of a restaurant that serves simple Mediterranean food becoming overrated and overpriced. The food is good, healthy, and there are a variety of GF options. But if my mother can make the same meal at home for a tiny fraction of the cost, I don’t see the point. It does beat going to similarly priced American, Italian, Mexican, or Asian places that are usually much more unhealthy. Overall, I wouldn’t go here regularly but once in a while it’s worth it.

Frequently places GF food next to gluten-containing items like couscous, leading to the contamination of GF items. Look carefully at placement of what you're ordering.

Excellent. It's a walk through line where you place your order. Gf is marked wf for wheat free. Everything was fresh. There were Gf cake slices and cupcakes individual wrapped and clearly marked.

Love love love this place. So much to choose from. Super healthy and fresh and no one gives you the stink eye for being gluten free. Everything is marked.
Went here tonight based on prior reviews. I must say that at first I was concerned. Then I talked to Michael, manager, who was very knowledgeable about Gluten Free and issues with cross contamination. Made my meal from items that were still in package. Offered several options that could be prepared safely. I had no issues with my meal. They carry Gluten Free pita bread. I had one with my meal and it was awesome. Packages were available for purchase and I brought a pack home. Definitely recommend this place. Will be back!!

This is our "go to" when we have company. everybody loves it and whatever their dietary restrictions tion, there is something delicious they can eat. some servers are more trained than others so you may need to ask that they change gloves. if you are super sensitive, get items on the top shelf so less chance of cross contamination. husband has celiac and eats here about once a week.
I had no idea what was gluten free. Place is so over whelming. I also paid 13$ for my gluten free meal which did not have any sides at all and was very small. GF pita I guess was 5$ by itself? Unimpressed overall.
Very helpful and Celiac friendly!
Yum. Yum. Yum. And fantastic selection too!
This place is fantastic! Not only is it awesome if you have multiple allergies (gluten and dairy for instance) but the food is outstanding. If you let them know you have allergies they will grab a fresh batch for you. They have expanded their menu recently to include gluten-free Pita to go with their awesome baba ghanoush and a handful of gluten-free dessert options. This place is an A+!
Love this place many great GF options
I know nothing about Mediterranean food but this was great. Location is nice, close to J C raulson arboretum.

Note: This restaurant is now called Sassool. The owner wanted to honor his mother. So everything is the same...except the name. May not be best business decision but as long as they keep the gf pita and falafel on the menu, I'll be happy! I'm giving them a 4 star rating b/c the food took a very long time (it was not that busy) and then when we got home the meat was a dry. Everything else very flavorful.
My favorite Mediterranean food in Raleigh... I've been going for years! Everything is labeled very well and they answered all of my questions. Love the relaxed atmosphere. Once you go, you won't go to any other Mediterranean restaurant again.

Yummy gf pita. Can get very busy over lunch.
This is a great restaurant, cafe and market!!We purchased the hummus, chicken salad, Mediterranean chicken salad and fatoush. Since we can not do their famous pita bread, they offered sliced cucumbers and carrots. The flavors are delicious! For dessert, we ordered a vanilla bean bar which is amazing, delicious and melts in your mouth!! And the blackberry crumb cake which has a lovely melodious flavor and texture. I think however, it would be better served a la mode. Overall amazing food and service at the market location.
