good variety of gf choices. gf buns for sandwiches. fresh hot food .will visit this northeast chain again.
We were on vacation and our hotel was near the Pittsfield, MA location. We ate there three times in five days! The staff were very concerned with our well being and good food! The first time, we ordered the food to go and it was so fabulous we went back two more times! We both ordered off the Gluten Free Menu - the All Star burger with the gluten free buns every time, with the loaded mashed potatoes and/or the loaded baked potato. We even shared a great hot fudge sundae once. It was wonderful! We wish we had a Ninety Nine restaurant near us!
I ordered food to go. The person who took my order asked how I wanted my burger then answered for me by saying medium rare. I told her I wanted it medium. She then asked what I wanted for a side. I said loaded mashed...she said mashed potatoes. I again said loaded mashed. At the end of the order, when she repeated everything back, I again corrected mashed potatoes and said loaded mashed. When I picked up my order, I was given what was on the order slip and it was mashed potatoes. I told the gentleman what I ordered and they made it right. After all this, I am now sick.
Been here twice since gf allergy diagnosed! Both times wait staff were sooo nice and concerned and food was excellent best part did not get sick! Great job!
Just as good as other 99s at which we've dined. We are grateful for restaurants that have kid-appropriate GF meals, including GF dessert. (The kids' meals come w free dessert. My kids get small ice cream sundaes for desserts.)
Not many options, but have a separate menu. Love their burgers
We eat at 99 on a regular basis. The service has always been excellent and if a server does not know the answer they will check with the manager or the kitchen.
Very limited selection. When I informed my waitress that I had celiac, she didn't know what that meant, so I explained that it meant I could not eat gluten and that my food could not contact gluten. She told me they could not accommodate this and the manager said the same thing. Neither even knew they had a gluten free section of the menu. I ended up ordering a salad and a baked potato as I was there with a large group and could not leave, and I've been sick all night.
There may not be a ton of options but I have eaten here many times and have never been sick. They have pretty good gf buns too which can be hard to find.

Great service! The server sent the manager over and he made sure everything was cooked without cross contamination. Very knowledgable! I have many allergies and he was very helpful! My steak, potato, and broccoli was wonderful! I'll definitely be back!
Worst service in town, something is very wrong with the people who work here, they don't care about anything. We use to love going to 99 in Maine but this place has ruined it. I've got Celiac, when I told waitress, she said "poor you, you should probably stay home to eat" I asked for salmon with no spices on it (just plain) well it came all spiced up, when I asked to bring it back and please make a new one, she stormed off and made the kind of face my teenage daughter would when told "no". Well she proceeded to ignore us (never came back to our table), we asked another waitress near bye to go get her and she never came back to see us??? We asked to speak to manager to another different waitress who said "he's not here" We walked out. Last week we ordered by phone to pick up and when we got there nobody knew where our order was? We should of known then never to go back, so sad! We've never experienced anything like this before, anywhere!
Extremely helpful and conscientious staff made sure that my order was not cross contaminated. As soon as I mentioned that I was gluten-sensitive, I was connected to the manager who took my order and put it through. They have an absolutely delicious GF hamburger bun for their burgers and many other choices on their menu to choose from. This is one of my favorite restaurants in the area.
I've eaten here a couple of times with no problem. I've had the sirloin tips which are good. The first time I went I spoke with the Manager and I asked for my food to be brought out separately which it was. The second time I mentioned it to the waitress and was told she'd do her best ( not exactly the answer I was looking for). I will go back but I will always speak to the Manager. I have eaten many times at another location and never had a problem so I do believe they take it seriously.
this place was serving me "g.f" salad. when I went to another state they let me know even the walnuts had wheat in them. no wonder I felt crummy. ALL of their salads had some sort of gluten in them (9/2015). it's so easy to substitute these little things. (1 star). I add another star because they have a decent menu for entrees that never made me sick
I heard that they had a small gf menu and it is in the back page. So we ordered gf burger and said several times we are gf to the waitress and her trainee and even ordered gf vegetables. The burger comes out and it is clearly not gf and the roll was clearly not gf. So we wait. we wait. we wait and we wait. They finally come to check on us and when I question the rolls on the burgers she says no they are not gf and takes the food back. If we were new to gf we would have eaten it and suffered. So while they offer the gf limited menu it's as simple as if the staff has no clue, you're in trouble. The manager apologized and took it off the bill, but it's always a risk we take...
I took both my kids who have Celiac to this 99 Restaurant. The waitress had no idea what was gluten or what they could or could not have. However, when I asked her to let the kitchen know that they are sensitive to cross contamination, the manager came to our table and was VERY helpful. She said that they cook the burgers and grilled chicken on the same grill as the steaks that have gluten in the marinade. But she offered to have the burgers baked in the oven to avoid cross contamination. The kids got kid menu cheeseburgers with broccoli instead of fries, and had no issues. We will definitely be back thanks to the wonderful manager.
Not many options on the menu, but wait staff was super helpful when i asked questions! I was able to substitute rice (theirs isn't gf) for mashed potatoes in my entree, which made it gf, even though it wasn't on the set aside menu. The kitchen staff and manager were also willing to talk to me and were hugely accommodating.
The nines is okay. They need to change it up and make improvements to their menu you can basically get steak a burger or a salad. They have the potential to make gf nachos and Fries but they don't have a dedicated fryer. It would be nice if they added more to the menu. Okay overall
Very friendly helpful staff, great GF buns! When I got mine I wasn't sure if it was GF because of how fluffy it was. They recently re-did the inside of the restaurant and it looks great. Great service, tasty GF food at a great price. Definitely Celiac friendly.
There is a very limited gluten-free menu including salad a few burgers and steak tips. The waitstaff was not very knowledgeable besides telling you to order from the bottom half of the last page. When asking if the nachos were corn or fluor tortillas I was rudely pointed back to that page without even an attempt to answer my question. I walked out and will not be returning any time soon.
I called in an order, told them I have Celiac, asked for no bun. They have GF buns, but I said no bun. Got home, and look and behold, there was a bun. I called them, they said it was probably gf. I went back there to show them... guess what? It wasn't. Grade: F.
Always helpful here! Very informed staff. Put ***Allergy Alert** on the order. I have been to other 99 Restaurants. This is the first one to inform me that the fries are not safe because it's a shared fryer. No fear- they have listed the safe options. I am a regular here and have never been sick. I usually order a burger. I think they use Udi's buns. :)
Went there last week, ordered gluten free steak tips, garlic mashed and broccoli. informed the server of my gluten free allergy. One of the chefs came out to the table to inform me the server had notified the kitchen about the allergy. Food was delicious.
