Paisanos is the best celiac friendly restaurant I have been to anywhere. As a symptomatic celiac who is sensitive to cross contamination, I feel safe eating here. I have eaten here several times and have never been sick from it.
The GF menu is like a normal menu. Lots to choose from.
Last night I tried the GF pizza and GF garlic bread. They make their own and it was amazing. The pizza was thick crust, not a frozen crust like most GF pizza. I haven’t had deep dish pizza in a long time (before diagnosis). Excellent taste.

I really didn’t like the pasta. The dessert might be ok and I used to like their “cheese stick” but I didn’t like it the last time I was there. The pasta was just regular rice noodles and poorly cooked at that.

This is a favorite, safe GF dining option. Recently I have chosen the GF eggplant parmigiana as its delicious and affordable. On a separate note: the GF beer option isn’t ideal for celiacs as it’s one of the “gluten extracted” beers.

They ask if you want a GF menu immediately upon entering, and give you laminated GF markers to place at your table so servers know where the GF items go. GF menu is extensive. No kids menu. GF food is marked with special toothpicks. Pasta is made in-house and is delicious. Pasta looks a bit yellow, which is nice that it is visually distinct from gluten pasta. Felt totally comfortable and no illness after eating pasta, bread, butter, parmesan, oil and vinegar, lemonade.

The food is fantastic! The gf garlic bread was soft inside crunchy outside. Lasagna was good. The Italian wedding cake is so good I am dreaming about! Made a stop on our travels on the way home. Wish chef would make a cookbook!

I love this place. They ask you if you need a gluten free menu. The host/hostess place a market at your table so the servers know that you require gluten free. There are so many choices including desserts! Highly recommend this place for gf Italian food.

They were very careful to keep me safe. They serve the Gluten-free community every day. And they have extensive Gluten-free menu. Appetizers, main courses, pizza, sandwiches and dessert. It was awesome I could order just about anything I wanted from the Gluten-free menu. They even have Gluten-free specials. It is every easy to find. I will be going to this restaurant every time I am in Albuquerque.

In town for a work thing and found this place on here. I can honestly say there were points during the meal that I thought I might cry a little. The food was superb. They asked if I needed a gluten free menu at the door, and then had a marker for my table indicating I was gluten free. The GF Beer selection was limited to a red door IPA, but at least it was good! I got the fettucine lucchese and a side of their fresh baked in house gluten free bread. It’s a little pricey ($56 or so for just me.) but its well worth it. Service was top notch, food was excellent, if I was local I’d probably eat here pretty frequently.

It is lovely to go somewhere that gluten free is not an after thought on the menu. Gluten-free menus are offered when you are seated and the options are basically the entire menu. Food is delicious and service is superb!

GF items were truly GF. Dinner plates came out almost 10 minutes apart and they made mistakes on half of the plates bringing things not ordered. The food was salty and otherwise bland. I used to enjoy this place.

Amazing. Hands down. Great space, great service, and amazing menu. All different types of GF pasta, every item on the menu with an available GF option. Immediately asked if there was a GF need in our party before being sat at our table and received a GF flower marker. Gluten free garlic bread, fried calamari, and a cannoli. When is the last time you had a cannoli served to you?! Check out the dedicated menu. Drive the extra few minutes. Keep Paisano’s Italian restaurant on our map in Albuquerque!

You won’t be sorry! Doesn’t look great on the outside but oh my! They give you a decal to put on the table that says GF. You get your own extensive GF menu. Even the three specials on the chalkboard were gf as were the three desserts. I had fried calamari! So good. And a pizza with thicker crust than the usual GF. Was so full I took my tiramisu to go. Other options were lasagne, all kinds of pasta, etc. Service was excellent too. They do offer gf bread but it was $6.50 so I passed. Obviously I didn’t need it.

It was a little concerning that the waitress didn’t check to see if my food was gluten-free until after i took a few bites. Also the fried mozzarella tasted fishy. I have eaten here before and it was great but for the price I am not sure i want to try again

This place has by far the best gluten free pasta I’ve ever had. Their gluten free menu includes pasta, sandwiches, pizza, and desserts. Their fryer is also gluten free and they have fried calamari and fried mozzarella! I felt like my old self (but not sick lol). I was told the gf pizza and pasta are prepared in a completely separate area and oven. Apparently the owner can’t eat wheat and designed this menu around that. I was just in town visiting, otherwise I would be here every night!

Amazing! Delicious! SO many GF options! The service was wonderful. Almost everything on the menu had a gluten-free option. Even things like garlic bread, fried calamari, Veal Parmesan and pasta. Even the desserts all have GF options. We got Tiramisu. Everything we ordered was delicious. We were asked when we walked in if anyone was gluten free. Highly recommend!

Thankfully, there is one really great restaurant in Albuquerque where ordering gluten and dairy free will result in a wonderful meal that tastes great, is beautifully prepared, and carries no fear that I will be sick afterward! Staff is really knowledgeable and cheerfully helps me choose a safe dinner, even checking with the kitchen to see if modifications can be made to a dish for me. Great with friends, on a date or with the family too.

ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!! Where do I start, the menu and amount of gluten free options was incredible! The GF garlic bread was amazing, the lasagna was perfect. The gluten free noodles were perfection. I was so stuffed I couldn’t even eat the whole meal and took home half my lasagna. But being in gluten free heaven with and abundance of options I still had to order 2 pieces of cake to take home with me so I’ll be updating after enjoying those later. Truly a rare gem and total treasure definitely don’t want to pass this up if your in the area looking for gluten free options.

This place was fantastic! Separate red gluten-free menu to alert server that you are ordering gluten-free. When it is busy, they put a "marker" at the seat of a gluten-free person to notify anyone serving the table that this person needs gluten-free foods. Our server was knowledgable and took great care. The gluten-free menu is almost the same as the regular menu, with many options including pizza and pasta. We would eat here regularly if we lived in town. We could order gluten-free bread (including garlic bread) to munch on before our other food arrived (this is an experience that my daughter misses from before her diagnosis).

Went there after reading all the positive reviews. The staff was horrible, rude and not accommodating. Answering questions about gluten free seemed like a burden to them. Eventually asked for a gluten free pasta. I was told that they usually boil all the pasta in an oven including pasta with gluten. Asked them to boil the gluten free pasta separately to avoid cross contamination which they assured they will. Got my order and tested with nima and it showed gluten. Discussed this with the server and in a very nonchalant manner she goes ‘yeah they boiled the pasta in the oven’. So she knew about that, didn’t tell us and didn’t bother to ask the kitchen to make the pasta again. If it was not for Nima, I would have been sick but surely it doesn’t matter to people running this place. Had some soup there (can’t remember which) that tested safe with Nima.

Amazing experience! Food was delicious! Garlic French bread was to die for. The cannoli we ordered for dessert was fantastic too. If you ask for a gluten free menu they put a little gluten free marker on your table. Word for the wary - the “gluten free beer” they had was gluten removed beer; personally I don’t drink them often but they never make me sick and I am super sensitive - however I know lots of ppl don’t think they are safe.

Would give 10 stars if I could, this is the best gluten free italian restaurant I've ever been too. So many options, gluten free bread, deserts, and the owner has celiacs. Super friendly staff, knew the ins and outs of everything.
Yes
Gf pasta is delicious, the garlic bread is amazing and they even have gf dessert options, which is always a plus! The owner is celiac so they are aware of taking good precautions. Gf menus are a different color to let waitstaff know, they also leave a bright colored place marker on the table so that those delivering food know. All around good option!
Best place for gluten free Italian I've been to anywhere in the country. Almost the entire menu can be made gluten free, including several awesome dessert options. Very knowledgeable staff and they are very careful to avoid cross contamination.
Yes
The chef is gluten free, so he understands the importance of limiting cross contamination. They even put a gluten free tag near place setting to provide quick visual to servers that I’m gluten free. Servers were all very knowledgeable and the menu was well marked.
Apparently the chef at Paisano’s Italian restaurant is gluten free, so there are a ton of options. Plus, they were able to easily accommodate dairy free too. I started with super delicious calamari, garlic bread, lentil and Italian sausage soup, veal Parmigiana (without the cheese), and a delicate almond cake with an orange zest Grand Marnier sauce. It was all dairy and gluten free, yet tasted absolutely amazing!
Excellent service and pacing.

Great Italian place, they put you at a table with a gluten free marker when you get the GF menu, and they have GF Cannolis!

Wonderful gluten free food. Staff was very knowledgeable and very friendly. The garlic bread is amazing. One night I had crab cakes as an appetizer, salad was fresh and crunchy, the lasagna for main course and the Italian Wedding cake for dessert. Excellent!!!! The next night I had a fresh crunchy salad, garlic bread, sea scallops with fettuccine and my husband shared the orange almond cake and the molten chocolate cake and gelato for dessert. If I lived in Albuquerque I'd definitely be a patron at least weekly. Amazing and wonderful to have so many wonderful gluten free choices in one outstanding restaurant.
Yes
I was so pleasantly surprised to see the great variety of gf options that it was actually difficult to choose my meal. Luckily my friend wanted me to have variety & also ordered from the gf menu, so I got to try the lasagna (OMG fabulous), the eggplant parmigiana & the spaghetti. Also had this really fab appetizer from the specials menu (gf specials!!!). The waitress was very knowledgeable & everything was great. I didn’t get sick & regret that I did t go there more than once during my week visiting ABQ.
Yes
I cannot fully put into words what a TREASURE this place is! Delicious food and completely safe for a celiac. I have eaten here several times without consequence and can not emphasize how good the food is!
Yes
Update* I wrote th is review within 10 mins after eating * another ten minutes later I got super sick and had inflammation for a week my husband who is not gluten free and has no dietary restrictions had diarrhea and stomach cramps. The food made us sick. I’d say don’t eat pasta there if u have sensitive stomach*The first thing they ask u when u come in is if u need a gf menu. They will sit u at a table marked gf free. The servers and bus boys make sure u know the bread is not gluten free. However they have bread and garlic free bread available. U get two big slabs. Which r good but it cost five bucks. The gf bread is good but for not having a a full mini loaf and it being five bucks is a bit high. Good but a lil high. The bread can be bought to go. All of the desserts (even the tiramisu and cannoli) can be made gf. Everything besides the raviolis and manicotti and pasta r gluten free. The gf pasta available is good but not made from the scratch. The gf pizza dough can be bought to take home and it is made from scratch. For 20 bucks I got a pasta dish a lot of food and everything was fresh but for 23 bucks I thought it was overpriced by 5 bucks. The salad that comes with the entree is a bit of a joke. It’s a mixed salad from a bag and they throw a pepperconi and a sliver of onion with a few cucumbers and peppers added. They doll it up. I think if u r looking for a nice glass of wine with pasta and or pizza this is ur place. I wud do lunch cuz it’s cheaper or dessert. But for the prices it’s a special occasion meal

Can't say enough how much i appreciate going to a restaurant and being treated normal, having appetizers and desserts available as well as amazing pasta!!! I usually get the special, always delicious! My hubby, who isn't gf and hates pasta, loves it here and only orders gf. I love that he does cause then i get to try his too. The cannoli is to die for!
