July 30, 2012I have tried this location several times and the servers rarely get the order right. Last time I ordered a GF dish and it tasted different than usual. I got really sick afterwards. (Gluten wise not food poisoning wise.) Other Pei Wei restaurants I have not had problems with, just this one.

The menu is limited, but what I had was awesome! I ordered the Sweet & Sour Chicken to go for lunch. When I got back to the office and started eating it I was sure they made a mistake and gave me the non-gluten free version because it was so good. :)

We love Pei Wei. Their food is the second Chinese option we ate after going gluten-free (the first was PF Chang's, their parent company!). Their selections, for us at least, and right one. I love sweet & sour, and that's what I get. My husband loves Seschwaun, and so he gets their spicy chicken. Here's where they lose two stars - consistency and service. I am CONSTANTLY triple-checking to make sure my husband's food is actually gluten-free, since his reactions are WAY worse than mine. Multiple times on phone-in orders I've received the wrong order completely, non-gf order, and had the manager come chase me down to tell me the order was wrong. Also, you ALWAYS get the bag that contains fortune cookies and regular soy sauce thrown on top of the bag. Eating in, we've only ONCE had a problem. There's a different plate (it's black) from "regular" customers (theirs are red), so that helps. We usually get eyerolls when we order gf, and the cashiers are total arse-holes. The servers are 50/50 though. The rice is almost always undercooked. My husband's spicy chicken is sometimes very bland, and sometimes so hot he asks for extra rice. You have to ask for gf soy sauce, because they never offer it. All that being said and done, I really like their food and it's totally worth it as long as you're a little more watchful.

This review is base on their sweet and sour chicken on their gulten free menu. we order and the cook knew it was supposed to be gulten free as well they handled my son dish carefully . Yet it made my son sick. The chicken can be crispy or grill . He chose crispy they said they make it crispy in rice flour. so we though it would be okay. still not sure what made him sick in the ingredients.

Pei Wei in the Gilbert Arizona area was extremely disappointing. They no longer offer a gluten-free menu. They had only two gluten-free items on the regular menu. They had some salads that were recommended as gluten-free. They served my gluten-free chicken wraps with butter lettuce along with a side of dipping sauce and it was clearly not gluten-free as I have been sick all day. My family only went to this location in order to accommodate my gluten-free needs. I recommend that you AVOID Pei Wei. Love, HypFoods!

Love this location for fresh, delicious food, great service, hip atmosphere, and secure g-free eating. Eat there about 2x a month, g-free. The g-free spicy chicken dish (i order it with extra vegetables) is my favorite, and a very generous portion. The management is great, and are very careful with the gluten issue. It's nice to feel normal and relaxed going to eat at restaurants, and that is how I feel at Pei Wei. A meal and a soft drink with tax is about $10-11, and I think it's worth it!

they could possibly deserve a 5 star rating, however they have a very limited menu. give me a third entree possibility and they get that the fifth star. or make the lettuce wraps gluten free like PF Changs and it would be 6 stars easy. yum!

I like Pei Wei - it's fast and cheap and satisfies my craving for Asian food. They're very accommodating with the gluten-free diet. They even make sure the edamame is cooked in a broth w/o gluten. I get the sweet and sour chicken every time. I believe they cook is separate woks too! I've always been treated so well there. They even have stickers to note that it's GF. However, they have a very limited gluten-free menu, so that's why I can't give them 5 stars! Go to PF Chang's (their big brother) for more variety.

I gave this a four star due to the tastiness of their food. They're GF menu is very small, like 4 items, but I haven't gotten sick. They're GF options are carefully planned, as they go so far as to cook the veggies in water instead of veggie broth because the broth contains some barley. This is a sister restaurant to PF Chang's, so they have a decent amount of training, although, not as much as PF Chang's does.

Pei Wei does the best job of being gluten free! They use a separate wok and do a good job keeping the food separate. They use individual packets of gf soy sauce so you know you're getting the right kind. The best thing is the price!! We always get a take out box and have leftovers.
