Very accomodating, they can print you a menu based on your allergies and make sure to the best of their abilities that you are safe from allergens.
The menu layout is a lot of the problem, but even with the nice atmosphere and good food, you end up feeling like a 2nd class person if you need to eat gluten-free because their spartan list of gf items includes no descriptions. You have to search the whole gluten-containing menu to find the descriptions of the relatively few gf entrees. Also, it's like they don't care about you if you are gf, because although they serve bass, salmon, scallops and cod on the menu you are only allowed one seafood on the gf menu.
Great food and a lot of options.
nice menu choices. gf soy sauce and very careful with crossing.
Very careful about GF. Even change out the soy sauce.
I love PF Chang's. They go out of their way to make sure that the person who orders gluten free does not feel left out, down to the soy sauce and trio. Even has dessert. This is the only "chinese" restaurant I feel comfortable eating at, knowing that I will not get a reaction later. They have gluten free options starting from soup to dessert.
Everything I've had off the gluten-free free menu has been delicious. Takeout and dine-in are both good. just check your order before leaving. The Grand Rapids location is smaller than others I've been to and they are still relatively new (opened Nov. 2011).
I have eaten here numerous times and never got sick although you have to be vigilant. They did once serve me a gluten version of what I ordered but I was aware of the fact the gluten free food is served on different plates. The food is very good, a little on the pricey side for the serving size.
Very good the gf pork fried rice and Mongolian beef are excellent! The gf steak and broccoli lacked in flavor. Service was mediocre and atmosphere was nothing to write home about. Second visit we got the Mongolian beef and pork fried rice to go and the rice had a little less flavor but still yummy! I have celiacs and did not have a reaction on either visit and they even packed gluten free soy sauce with my to go order!
Our son has celiac. They were wonderful! The host and server were very reassuring and helpful when they explained the process they use to avoid cross contamination. They have separate areas and utensils/pans for food prep to avoid cross contamination. Our server was very careful when he brought out our food. The restaurant uses special plates for gluten free food. They have gluten free soy sauce available upon request. Our son had no reaction after eating there. We will return with no reservations.
it looks delicious but i can not eat
Always had a good and safe experience here. Had a waitress who was very familiar with celiac and made sure my food was safe. When the wrong lettuce wraps came out she sent them back before even coming to our table. I really appreciated it.
I've eaten here 10-12 times the past 10 years. Never had any problem and I'm sensitive celiac. I would know if gluttened within first half hour, usually just a few minutes. The food choices are varied and delicious. My wife who is Not gf prefers the gf lettuce wraps compared to those off the regular menu. I've also ordered take out several times to eat back home in Jamestown NY. It has been tasty and just as safe.
awesome food, great staff
I love P.F. Chang's BEFORE I went gluten-free and AFTER I became gluten-free. One of my friends and I went to P.F.Chang's this past weekend and my experience was wonderful. I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease over a year ago which has made dining out challenging. I was well taken care of by Salam (server), Christine (bartender) and the manager. When I spoke to Salam about my dining needs, she took it seriously and elevated it to the manager. The manager came and spoke with me and was very kind. I was able to order for the gluten-free menu and all the food was great. Additionally, I wanted to engage in the spirits and was able to do so. The bartender, Christine was knowledgeable about what drinks did or did not have gluten. She made two different drinks for me and they were great!!!! I cannot say how happy I was about my dining experience. I did not get sick at all while I was there or 24 hours later. This is why they got 5 stars from me.
yes they have a gf section on their menu so 2 stars for that but out of 5 times eating there and ordering the same gf Cantonese Lemon Chicken I think 1 time it didn't feel like I was ripping apart dried out and hard crusted pieces of chicken. I had to leave half the crust on the plate because I couldn't chew it. The lettuce wraps are generally good though I didn't order that tonight. I sent food back for being so died out in the past but we have so little choice in the area for gf Chinese food ave I was starving. I hoped for the best and was so disappointed again.
I used to eat here a lot with no problems, they're supposed to have a dedicated kitchen space and be celiac friendly. Recently I ate here and had the WORST reaction I've had in.. Forever, after eating the fried rice. My food came out a little too quickly (usually gfree stuff takes longer in order to prepare it safely) with my non-gfree friends order. My reaction was so bad that it started a few hours after I left. I was extremely disappointed, so I don't think I'll be returning at least for a long time. I made sure to email them and let them know, hopefully they fix things! Just be aware and emphasize you need a safe meal! This place does have a lot of great options, maybe I just had one bad experience.
Went there on Easter, group of 5 of us, and they were great! My son was diagnosed with Celiac in November, and we have had issues at other restaurants with "Gluten-Free" menus. No problem here! I was very nervous, but the waiter and the kitchen manager both reassured me it would be fine. My son ate the Lettuce Wraps and the Chicken with Broccoli, loved them both! He also tried my Mongolian Beef. All of this off the GF menu. He did great...no reaction! Way to go, PF Changs! Thank you! ;)
Had the gf Singapore street noodles was awesome will definitely go back!
Very safe and very knowledgeable staff. Delicious options too!
After reading the reviews I was exited to go here, but ended up pretty dissapointed. They do have a gf menu, but the food is nothing special. Waiter was friendly but didn't have a clou, manager came by though. They could not offer any drinks for they could not guarantee they were gf (am I the first to order a lemonade?). We felt like we were in a overpriced Panda Express... Messing up the bill 3 times, messing up our to-go box. Anyway, most important, it was gluten free and pretty ok I guess.
The gluten free options are amazing. This is a favorite restaurant of hours, the servers and staff take care of our gluten free me with care. The food is always tasty and it comes out in a reasonable amount of time. The environment and decor are fantastic along with the service and the quality of food. Definitely worth five stars.
I was very disappointed in the lack of selection on their gluten free menu. The Buddha Delight ($14.99) was a plate of steamed vegetables which essentially was one carrot, two asparagus, a few mushroom slices and broccoli heads. When I asked for the accompanying sauce, I was told it wasn't gluten-free. Although dim sum is listed on the GF menu, after checking with the kitchen I was told it wasn't GF. I do wish to note the service was excellent, too bad neither my daughter nor I cared for the entrees we ordered.
Went here for lunch on a Saturday. Server was attentive as was the manager who came around to check on us. Ordered the gluten-free spicy chicken (Genral Tso's) with white rice. Menu is adequate for GF selections. Staff didn't make a huge fuss - which was nice. Meal was ok - don't think I'd order it again. Unsure why the server brought us 2 fortune cookies - pretty sure they aren't gluten free. So my friend and I just opened them for our fortunes. If you really like PF Changs - you'd probably do okay at this one. But I doubt I'll be returning.
Celiac friendly but their prices have risen and food quality has gone down in the last few years.
This was my second time to a PF Changs and the first since having to be GF. Was there with some people from work and I informed the waitress that I needed to be GF and she was more than helpful and friendly. I think her name was Linda, she was one of the most helpful and attentive servers I've had, I feel bad for not knowing her name. She explained that all of the GF food will come out on a special plate with the PF Chang logo on it and if it isn't on said plate, it isn't safe to for me. She suggested we try the GF lettuce wraps for the table and I believe everyone enjoyed them. I thought they were tasty, very similar to what my wife makes at home. I got to see the special plate which just has a line around the rim and the PF Changs name on it, but she pointed out to look for it. My mongolian beef arrived in the same special plate and I noticed the rest of the table had plain white plates. I felt special with my fancy plate and knowing that I could be sure it was GF. The food was much better than the first time I had PF Changs and with the special GF plate, decent GF selection and very understanding staff, I will surely return.
I will never set foot in here again. Third time getting glutened, out of three visits over six months. I've had such good luck at every other PF Changs but this one has officially scared me away.. I work around the corner and would have come here twice a month if the first two experiences hadn't scared me off. Thought I might try one more time, but it was not a fluke. There's something wrong here.
Spent the entire night in agony.
Never had a problem with GF at PF Chang's! have always had knowledgeable servers. There are several great options!
I have great luck at P.F. Chang's and this location in particular has been very good to me. The GF menu isn't extensive, but there are enough choices to make a good meal. Our favorites are the egg drop soup, pork fried rice, and mongolian beef. I love that P.F. Chang's has special plates they use for the GF food. Such a comfort! Servers have always been pleasant, accommodating, and extremely knowledgable about Celiac. P.F. Chang's GF food items are expensive, but that is the reality when you have Celiac. But, for lunch, my non-Celiac husband and I split a bowl of egg drop soup(their bowls of soup are HUGE) and an order of beef fried rice and it came to under $20. That's totally reasonable for lunch. This location is in the Providence Place mall and can get very busy on weekends.
