Maybe they had problems when they first opened but let me tell you it was the best Chinese in Rockland County when we were there recently. Fresh not greasy, and very favorable. Give it another try.
This place is terrible. Go to the Hackensack location if you don't want problems. I ordered 3 entrees to go - 2 gluten free and one regular. When they brought them out, nothing was labeled and the server was trying to figure it out based on the "order" the boxes were placed in the bag. No thanks! I left without any of it because I was so annoyed at not only their process, but the fact that they failed to take the gluten free order seriously and thought they could arbitrarily label the GF items after the fact. Hell to the no.
The chain in Nanuet is dangerous.. DO NOT EAT THERE if you have an allergy. Take the trip to Hackensack... You'll thank me.
If I could give zero stars I would. The place is FILTHY. Whoever the "dishwasher" is needs to be FIRED. All utensils were dirty. The waiter came out with tea and tea cups. The tea cups had crusted food inside of them. The teapot had what appeared to be a CAT HAIR stuck on it. The chopsticks are REUSED. Plastic is POROUS and the chopsticks have teeth marks on them. Hepatitis anyone? The egg drop soup was cold and you can tell they didn't reheat it properly. Soup needs to be maintained at a proper temperature to prevent bacterial growth. It wasn't fresh and probably yesterday's backwash soup. The food was terrible. Rice noodles looked and tasted old like yesterday's leftovers. It was disgusting. The health department would shut the place down if they saw what I saw. The cloth napkins had very short rodent type hair on them. All these signs point to one thing.... Poor quality control, poor management (more like NO management) and unsafe food handling and little to no dish-ware/utensil cleansing. I will never go back.
server was very knowledgable and accommodating of gluten allergy. he brought out separate sauces too. gf menu is limited but it definitely solves that chinese food craving
A lot of plate GF
Long wait, slow to get seated
Lots of options!
I get sick every single time I go there
I've given them a try more times than I can count in various locations, and at least 30% of the time I end up feeling badly and knowing for sure that my food wasn't GF. This was our first time at this location since moving to Richmond. The GF menu is smaller and more expensive than it used to be, and I've been home 30 minutes and can tell my stomach isn't happy. And this particular location was painfully slow, which has nothing to do with the GF part but is certainly not a positive thing.
My boyfriend, myself, and my older sister's family frequent this PF Chang's often. They always have a GF dessert available and that chocolate dome is finally back!! 😍😍 The staff are very understanding and knowledgeable when you mention an allergy, although we have had mixups happen: On one occasion they brought a meal out on their GF plate, but we swore it tasted off.. I stopped eating it, my sister definitely felt the repercussions of that instance. Because of this I wont mark "Celiac friendly."
Wow, I cannot just say that the knowledgable staff is great; they are enthusiastically great. I feel so good about eating there, not only because it is safe, but everybody there makes us feel so welcome. They have an easy, separate GF menu. We eat there almost weekly and only once has a potential error occurred. But we caught it because they use different plates for GF meals. Nice safeguard!
We had our 1st PF Changs experience tonight & it was amazing!! I am gf & df and our server, Catie, was so helpful in guiding me to which items I could eat. The house made ginger beer is gf & so good! For an app the lettuce wrap was amazing & the pad Thai was stuff dreams are made of! I can't wait to eat the leftovers. They also put all gf items on a special PF Chang plate rather than a regular plate so it's easier to identify the gf food. Can't wait to go back!
Gluten free is served on round plates and was delicious. Service was great, and they reconfirmed the gluten free dishes when they were bought to the table. Great location , we sat on the outside patio so could people watch on the strip too. Quite expensive but definitely worth it for gluten free Chinese food!!!
Amazing. Completely separate menu with lots of options. Shrimp fried rice was to die for. They use a different kind of plate for gluten free dishes so that everyone who touches it is aware. Server said it is loaded into a totally different computer in the back and made in a dedicated gluten free area and separate wok. I feel almost normal again .
I have eaten here several times. I have never gotten sick. I like that they use separate plates for gf, so you can verify they brought you a gf meal. Just ask and verify if it doesn't come on the special plate and verify the sauces when they come to the table.
All GF food came out on special round plates and is cooked with dedicated equipment. The Mongolian beef is to die for! Felt safe eating here as a celiac and would definitely go back!
I cannot believe this place has received good reviews! My daughter became sick within minutes of eating the food. I will accept partial blame because there were red flags. The manager on duty came to tell me I ordered something that wasn't gluten free according to the chef. When I pointed out to her that it was on the gf menu, she double checked with the chef and they agree he must be mistaken. Nope-not mistaken! It was an absolute nightmare to have my daughter get sick as she was moving into her dorm. Please please do not take your family there if you have celiac's or a high intolerance!
I've been several times since getting celiac. They are always great about bringing my GF food on a specially designated plate and saying "Here is your GF pad Thai" or whatever I've ordered. Always makes me feel more comfortable eating there, and I've never gotten sick. The food is really great too!
Loved P.F. Changs! Had been wanting to eat here for a while and finally got the chance. I ordered the ginger garlic chicken and broccoli with a side of GF fried rice. It was really good!!! Much better than I anticipated. It's a little over priced in my opinion, but 5 of us (2 being kids) ate here for around $70. Not too bad. The great thing is it did not make me sick. I have Celiac Disease and a lot of things seem to cause a reaction lately, this was not one of them! Thrilled! Will be back!
Awesome! Delicious & gluten free section of the menu.
Their GF options are delicious and pretty plentiful, but make sure you tell them right off the bat that you can't have gluten. We ordered the chicken lettuce wraps, but if you don't say "gluten free" explicitly they will bring you the lettuce wraps that have gluten.
Excellent gluten free menu.
Very expensive! Basically paid $16.50 for GF chicken nuggets with sauce and it was very bland. There aren't many GF options but did have a couple GF desserts
I was looking for that crunchy sesame chicken basic Chinese chicken gluten free everywhere. Even tried to make it :( didn't work. They have it at PF Changs though! And I didn't have to worry about fishy service. Many gf Options and they will ask you if it is an allergy. Also yum that chocolate gf cake :))
Good food, also price too
This business has now severely reduced the gluten-free options we've loved for years and now has a gluten-free menu you have to ask for instead. Only one dish suits my allergy situations and it was too salty. Very sad to see such changes. They still claim to have the specific gluten-free prep area but the menu is definitely lacking.
