This place was terrible. Not only were the people at the front completely clueless about gluten free and cross contamination, but they brought out one of our gluten free entrees with a gluten filled appetizer item (deep fried, battered string bean) sitting in our gluten free entree. I requested that they be very cautious from the beginning and they were not. We couldn't even get out water refilled.
Maybe they had problems when they first opened but let me tell you it was the best Chinese in Rockland County when we were there recently. Fresh not greasy, and very favorable. Give it another try.
This place is terrible. Go to the Hackensack location if you don't want problems. I ordered 3 entrees to go - 2 gluten free and one regular. When they brought them out, nothing was labeled and the server was trying to figure it out based on the "order" the boxes were placed in the bag. No thanks! I left without any of it because I was so annoyed at not only their process, but the fact that they failed to take the gluten free order seriously and thought they could arbitrarily label the GF items after the fact. Hell to the no.
The chain in Nanuet is dangerous.. DO NOT EAT THERE if you have an allergy. Take the trip to Hackensack... You'll thank me.
If I could give zero stars I would. The place is FILTHY. Whoever the "dishwasher" is needs to be FIRED. All utensils were dirty. The waiter came out with tea and tea cups. The tea cups had crusted food inside of them. The teapot had what appeared to be a CAT HAIR stuck on it. The chopsticks are REUSED. Plastic is POROUS and the chopsticks have teeth marks on them. Hepatitis anyone? The egg drop soup was cold and you can tell they didn't reheat it properly. Soup needs to be maintained at a proper temperature to prevent bacterial growth. It wasn't fresh and probably yesterday's backwash soup. The food was terrible. Rice noodles looked and tasted old like yesterday's leftovers. It was disgusting. The health department would shut the place down if they saw what I saw. The cloth napkins had very short rodent type hair on them. All these signs point to one thing.... Poor quality control, poor management (more like NO management) and unsafe food handling and little to no dish-ware/utensil cleansing. I will never go back.
server was very knowledgable and accommodating of gluten allergy. he brought out separate sauces too. gf menu is limited but it definitely solves that chinese food craving
A lot of plate GF
Long wait, slow to get seated
Lots of options!
Finally a trusted Asian food restaurant!! So delicious and lots of options on their yummy gluten free menu. I usually get the chicken & broccoli with the egg drop soup. I have not tried their gf desserts yet, but I will when I don't spend my whole budget on the meal.
Great food and service. It's a little pricey but worth it to have Asian inspired meals again.
Not safe. I have eaten here about five times and have gotten sick 3 out of the 5 i don't know if it's just that this location isnt knowledgeable or what but I definitely wouldn't risk it
Finally! P.F. Chang's is my go-to gluten free restaurant while traveling. It's a great addition to Mobile. They are well aware of cross contamination and prepare all gluten free meals in a dedicated area. They also have a dedicated fryer, and all gluten free meals are served on special plates to let you and your server know it's gfree. I recommend Changs Spicy Chicken and their lettuce wraps. It's great to be able to go out for Chinese again!
Dinner was great. Experience was even better afterwards when my son didn't get sick!! Will definitely go back!
Exceeds expectations in service; had the manager and chef come to our table to explain their gluten free menu, and that if you receive food on a plate that isn't their "signature" plate (white with black P.F. Chang's font) not to eat it because it wasn't gluten-free. They bring you gluten-free soy sauce, and cook with dedicated gluten-free equipment. I have eaten here many times and am 100% confident every time that I will not get sick.
Dedicated GF menu. I had the lettuce wraps and fried rice - both of which were delicious. I didn't have any reaction. I didn't have room for dessert but they had GF opinions which was nice. My food came out from the kitchen on special plates and the server was knowledgeable.
The staff have been knowledgeable about gluten free dishes and aware of cross contamination safety on each of the 8 or so visits there. There's a separate gluten free menu with a good selection, even appetizer or child portion.
Nice gluten free menu with plenty of choices. Waitstaff very well trained and understand the importance of being on top of gluten content and cross contamination. Separate wok station for gluten-free and other allergies. Different plates for gluten free so servers don't mix up plates.
Great gluten free options including two deserts but you need to make sure the kitchen didn't make a mistake and that what you are getting is in fact the gf version. To do this make sure that the gf food you ordered is delivered on a plate that has the pj changs logo on it. If it doesn't then it isn't the gf version. They right it and are very apologetic. Great food for sure! Been looking for a fried rice!
Celiac friendly and new menu that's pretty good.
My nephew and I ate here today to celebrate his great report card. We ordered everything off the GF menu and double checked as each plate was served. Unfortunately, we both got sick right after leaving the restaurant. Ugh. We're disappointed as this restaurant had been a safe place for us before.
Visited the restaurant in Austin, knowledgeable staff who were happy to help with ordering gluten free. I really like their plate system - so if you order from the gf menu it comes out on a different style of plate to everyone else's food. That made me feel really confident about not getting poisoned!
Awesome selection of gluten free stuff. I actually work here and only recently became celiac. Because I work here I know that they do not cross contaminate and take extra precautions when making food for ANY allergy or need. Great selection of good food!
Plenty of choices and no adverse issues for this celiac.
We have a PF Changs near where we live, and I love eating there. I always eat the chicken fried rice. Their gluten-free selection is great, and everything is always cooked to order. Very yummy food.
Great menu and always helpful!
Called ahead, a separate (but fairly limited) GF menu. They prepare the GF stuff in a separate wok, serve the food on dedicated plates. Won't know until later if I got glutened by I feel fairly good about it.
Let the server know you have Celiac and you will be good to go. Excellent service and we visit as often as we can. As someone diagnosed with Celiac I would highly recommend this restaurant as a safe place to eat that is happy to accomodate the gluten free option. Never been sick by cross contamination when eating here.
Great food but be diligent as not all servers are super attentive about the gluten free stuff. Management is very aware of the importance and they are great.
