I was so excited to get back to Red Heat after being diagnosed with a gluten allergy. I hadn’t been for about a year and was revved for the onion strings and a burger. We sat at the bar and the bartender was great, but the food was a huge disappointment. The bang bang broccoli was extra greasy. Then for my meal, I was brought fries instead of onions, when they caught the mistake it took 15 minutes to bring out the new side. The burger was overcooked, had barely any sauce, and they forgot the bacon. Also, I’m not sure what happened, but I did have a reaction afterwards so there must have been some cross contamination. Big bummer!

Love this place. The gluten free boneless chicken tenders are sooo good. The gf food is so good my partner often can't tell the difference in taste. Able to cater for coeliacs even when busy. Be sure to tell your servers you're coeliac.
All items on the menu can be made gluten free (with the exception of some desserts).
4 stars for safety because it is not 100% gluten free so there is always going to be some risk, however, I believe Red Heat Tavern do what they can go minimise that risk.

Red Heat Tavern is an American restaurant in Milford serving coal-fired comfort food in a fun setting. Enjoy homestyle favorites like burgers, wings, mac and cheese, steak tips, and big salads. Every dish is treated as a labor of love with our unique Josper oven at the heart of our kitchen. Cooking in this style creates bold flavors that pair perfectly with our craft beers and inventive cocktails. Grab drinks with friends, enjoy a meal with family – come as you are, and we’ll take care of the rest. We also have tons of gluten-free options! Our restaurant features a large bar, casual dining room, seasonal patio, and group dining space. Our hospitality makes every dining experience memorable and every guest our friend.
I absolutely love Red Heat! It is my go to for takeout in the area. My favorites include the GF nachos with chicken, GF Sweet & Smoky Chicken Sandwich, and GF Mac & Cheese! You can have the fries here as well!

Our server was very familiar with gluten free options which is basically everything. I had a Hamburger on a gluten free bun with Parmesan fries. Food was great and they use separate fryers for gluten free.

Great food! There was a lot of gluten free options on the menu for my celiac son to choose from, first time he's been able to get a full plate of nachos that were safe! They had items clearly marked on the regular menu that all could be gluten free.

The waitress was extremely knowledgeable about food allergies. All items were brought out on red plates that were gluten free. Food was very tasty and different. I don’t know when the last time was that I had fried chicken, fried pickles and tater tots. The food was amazing and no one got sick. A must visit if you are around one.

Waitress asked about food allergies before taking order. I ordered the country fried chicken w mashed potatoes and gravy! Can't get that gluten free anywhere else I've been!!! It was totally wicked!! (I'm from Boston... that means really really good.). Our server was helpful, attentive, and took care of every need.Welcome to Gboard clipboard, any text you copy will be saved here.

This place was a really great experience! They have a system for gf meals - they come out on different color plates and are delivered by the manager - I love systems like this where everyone can work together to make sure no mistakes are made! My kids rarely get to order off a kids menu and they just loved being able to do that - that made it worth it alone. The menu is also really varied - you can eat things here you can’t eat at many other places. We’ll absolutely be back.

Recently found out that I’m allergic to gluten. Came here and loved that mostly everything on the menu is gluten free. I had the crusted fish with rice and green beans. Was so delicious. Also had the Ground Breaker IPA which was also gluten free. Strongly recommended

I have celiac disease and feel very safe eating here. Everything on the menu can be made gluten free (except the pretzel bites) and there were about 6 or 7 different ciders/ GF beers that are also safe and clearly labelled on the drink menu. I had a Ground Breaker IPA5 (never tried this GF beer before, definitely recommend!), steak tips with garlic herb fries, and sweet thai boneless tenders. Everything turned out great and I am looking forward to going back to try more!

Anything, yes anything on menu can be gluten free. Excellent staff & service. Food was very tasty & fresh. We had gf buffalo tenders. Fyi it has a speck of bbq sauce. May turn some people off, but we liked it. My only feedback would be that some dishes have unexpected things. The fried chicken had strong rosemary/thyme flavor. I expected a more classic fried chicken; and the mac n cheese had onions. I like onions but many do not. Still tasty, but unexpected.

I cannot say enough amazing things about this restaurant! They can make the entire menu basically gluten-free including gluten-free cornbread, mac & cheese, fried chicken. I have never been sick here and the staff are always friendly and knowledgeable in regards to cross-contamination and gluten-free allergies. Can’t recommend enough one of my favorite spots!!!

I’m always come here but I have noticed the past few times the food is way to salty or the flavors are very over powering. Sometimes I want to try something different than my regular go tos. I had the Mojo shrimp and the rice was awful. Too much cumin and it was so sour from the lime. Couldn’t even eat it. The shrimp where great though. The fried chicken is awesome but the mashed potatoes are way to salty. I recommend sticking to the salads or the chicken tenders can never go wrong there!

Awesome place. The owner has celiac and everything on the menu can be made gluten free! We had the poutine (fried cheese bites) that came with the most amazing gravy sauce for dipping. They tasted like something you would get at a state fair, certainly not anything like what I’ve had since being diagnosed celiac! Absolutely amazing. We also had the tater tots and honey mustard crispy chicken salad. Everything was delicuous and I especially appreciated that the salad had gluten free breaded fried chicken on it instead of substituting grilled chicken like many restaurants would do. For drinks, in addition to liquor and wine there is both angry orchard and Downeast cider. Can’t wait to come back! If you have celiac this is a must try.

This place is great! We had sangria, tater tots and fried pickles! The fish was great, too! They even have GF cheesecake!

They pay very close attention to celiac and food allergies at Red Heat.. We have eaten here many times, and never had any issues. Almost the entire menu can be prepared gluten free.

Safe food, great food- allergy dishes colors.
First time in to Red Heat Tavern for dinner. My husband has celiac. On a Saturday night we arrived about 6:15 and checked in with about a 45 minute wait but it ended up being a little less than that. The food was well worth the wait! Service was great from start to end. Our server was Amanda and she was so pleasant. Just about everything on the menu can be made GF. My husband loved his dinner of turkey tips, cilantro lime rice and roasted Brussels sprouts and had bone/in buffalo wings as an app. I had the jumbo tater tots and the meatloaf with garlic mashed potatoes and green beans. We both had a margarita too. Our bill was just over $100 . The food was fantastic and we’d definitely return!

So excited for this to come to town. They make almost everything GF, even the desserts! Never had an issue, been here a half dozen times already!

Eaten here a few times and have never had any issues. Almost everything on menu can be made gluten free except the pretzels. Staff is nice and atmosphere is great!
Everything on the menu except for 1 item can be made GF. They take Celiac and allergies very seriously. All GF and allergy food comes out by a manager and on a different color plate.
Yes
AMAZING food and great gluten free knowledge. As soon as you sit down they ask if anyone in your party has food allergies and if so, they will serve your food on a red plate. They have dedicated gluten free fryers and can basically make everything gluten free (except the pretzel). Must have the bang bang broccoli and the sweet potato fries!

I go here regularly with no issue. All GF meals are marked by being on a red plate as claimed in the restaurant self-written description above (not a labeled toothpick but an obvious indicator to all staff). I always ask just in case and am always told red plate=gf and the staff is always well trained on handling gf/celiac customers. They have separate fryers for allergens including a gluten free fryer. They say all menu items can be made gluten free and I have never encountered anything they wouldn't do gf. This is my go-to 'I worked too long today and all I want is chicken tenders and french fries now' place.
I am also allergic to dairy so one time I asked for a dairy free sauce chef's choice to go with some fried pickles instead of the usual ranch and they absolutely delivered.
Also you can clearly mark online orders for gluten allergy with a whole section of the online menu being set up as 'gluten free menu item name' and you can further mark all your allergens from the selection box and write a note for each item. The takeout boxes will have allergy stickers on the individual items.

Good poisoning for me and all of my party. It feels like it was also gluten. The celiacs in our party were sick much longer than everyone else and one of us got the celiac rash afterwards. I would never eat here again.

Ate here for while traveling on my son’s birthday. Three of us are gluten free. Plenty of choices for apps, dinner and dessert that we could choose from. Everything was delicious and service was great and very knowledgeable! Gluten free meals came out on a different color plate than meals with gluten.
