No longer offers GF! I was fortunate to have a server who bent over backwards to help me find *something* I could eat, since the rest of my family had already ordered. Two stars only because of the awesome server.
No
They no longer have GF PASTA. Fail. 'But if you're not super allergic there's only a little bit of bread crumbs on it, it shouldn't bother you' 😡
Finding gluten free options for dining out in Mobile was just made a little easier for me! I was in the mood for gluten-free pasta and read that Ramono's Macaroni Grill offered GF pasta. Nervous by the fact that there was not a written review on this app or elsewhere, I called and spoke with the service manager David. Turns out his fiancee and mother-in-law-to-be are both Celiac! He said they eat there about once a month and also have several people requesting gluten-free accommodations often.
He did a great job explaining how they avoid cross contamination by preparing the gluten free pasta in a clean pot with fresh water and that they use clean utensils and clean cooking surfaces.
Regarding the food, I had the GF pasta (rice-based, penne styled) in alfredo sauce and grilled salmon. My fellow GF diner had the GF portofino pasta dish in a white wine butter sauce with grilled chicken. We split dessert, which was Double Vanilla gelato.
We were very pleased with the experience, which was made all the more pleasant but our gregarious server Kara. She went above and beyond to make our experience all the more enjoyable.
Yes
The food was great, the staff was knowledgeable about what food was gluten free (all penne). They were very accommodating. The gluten free pasta serving size is 1/4 the size of the normal pasta serving size for the same price.

Unfortunately they were out of gluten free pasta and other options are very limited especially for a picky eater who just wanted Mac and cheese.

Currently they do not have GF pasta options. However staff were knowledgeable about GF & cross contamination. The caesar salad w/out croutons, with chicken or shrimp is very good. Grilled salmon with side of spinach instead or orzo a good option as well. The service was excellent.

As of 7/21/22, they did not have gluten free pasta as an option. Although the macaroni grill website appears to show gluten free pasta available, this location said they didn’t have any and offered no explanation.

Their menu has zero gluten free substitutes/options. I asked our server for gluten free options and she ended up bringing me an allergy menu after we asked multiple times. When I ordered my dish she just seemed very bothered by the fact that I had an allergy and she had to deal with it. Granted I know it’s a pasta establishment but still. I ended up ordering the create your own pasta with the pomodorino sauce, their gluten free pasta, and some chicken and spinach. It was pretty good, it’s just the service and attitude that was subpar.
