The staff was great and knowledgeable. Food was delicious as well. The lava dessert was the best! I read about the short ribs reviews on this app and thought this would be a great place to try. We were told that they'd changed the ingredients and that it was no longer gf. We opted to try the beef short ribs/brisket and were told that it was gf. After ordering, we tested with our Nima tester and it came back positive for gluten which was a real bummer. The manager was awesome and thinks there was a cross contamination issue. We weren't charged but please be careful here if you have celiac.

We had a server that was very attentive to our dietary needs. There were lots of options and modifications for celiac. We started with the Caesar Brussels, would recommend. Then Had the short ribs as a main, they were great. Lava cake is GF and also amazing. Would definitely go again!

SO GOOD! Items weren’t marked gf, but the server was super knowledgeable about what menu items I could/couldn’t have! They modified the blackened ahi for me and they had tamari! I had filet and lobster which was all gf too. Also the SOUFfLE!!! Absolutely worth going for the soufflé alone!

Server was knowledgeable and very helpful. Once we said celiac, she knew to tell us about cross contamination in the fryer but offered helpful suggestions. I so appreciate servers and establishments who clearly understand and are accommodating. We had poke appetizer (rice no chips), farmers salad, filet, and kampachi and shrimp entree. The last one may be one of my favorite dishes ever. Dining room was beautiful. All servers were welcoming and kind. Most importantly, we did not get sick! Have been to many Roy’s and so far always have a safe and delightful experience.

I had a great experience at Roy's Waikoloa. I ordered the short ribs and they were wonderful. The diners next to us heard me ask about gluten free. They were regulars and told us to be sure and order the lava cake. It is gluten free! I was already stuffed, but I ate it anyway. Fabulous. The general managers wife is celiac, the staff was knowledgeable and I felt comfortable.

I’ve eaten at the fosters kitchen in Kona twice and not had an issue, however tonight I went to the FK in waikoloa and found pasta in my shrimp and grits. The staff was super apologetic, comped my meal, and made me a different order. But be careful with the Waikoloa location. I recommend the fish and chips at the Kona location, I haven’t had any problems there.

Amazing! Staff was knowledgeable. The gluten free options was about the same as the regular menu. Very delicious. I would definitely eat here again. Gluten free dessert is available as well and was very tasty.
Yes
The staff seemed very knowledgeable about celiac disease and needing to be gluten free, but unfortunately, I still had a terrible reaction. The food was very good, but not worth the reaction.

Absolutely amazing dinner!!! Highly recommend the Caesar Brussel sprouts!! Trust your server on gluten free options! Most meals can be adjusted. The flourless chocolate soufflé was an amazing dessert!!!
Roy’s was the most terrific dining option in Hawaii. They didn’t just meet expectations, they when above and beyond. Our waiter was super, and even though they didn’t have a separate gluten free menu, our waiter walked me through the options I could eat. If I could give Roy’s six stars, I would. The soufflé is highly recommended.

Menus are printed new daily and aren't labeled, but the server knew everything about everything. I was able to order the Prix Fixe with a salad subbed for the non-GF appetizers. One of the Prix Fixe desserts (molten lava cake) was already GF. The food was pricey but everything was delicious. Best dining experience of our trip!
No separate menu, however the waitress was knowledgable and very accommodating. They can make most entrees GF by substituting tamari. The chocolate lava cake is naturally gluten free and TO DIE FOR! It's worth coming here just for the cake :)

Menus aren't labeled, but the bartender who served us knew the whole menu and made us feel very at ease. There were plenty of GF choices with little or no modification. The food was soo good, especially the ahi tuna roll (served with tamari).
Excellent food and great service with a knowledgeable staff that really wants to help you make good selections.
Awesome meal, best meal of the whole trip. Staff was really knowledgeable, most of the menu could be prepared gf, without leaving off sauces. They have gf versions of all the sauces so I never felt like I had to sacrifice flavor. Wonderful evening, highest recommendation.

Knowledgable and great food!
No gf menu because the menu changes daily but staff is very knowledgable about what can be prepared gf. Food was great!
