Really liked this cafe! Lots of GF choices clearly marked on the menus and knowledgeable, friendly staff.

All of the staff are so knowledgeable about the ingredients in their food! So many options for both gluten and dairy free. While I didn’t notice how they prepped menu items but I would be concerned about their bakery items as they are in the same case with items that contain gluten.

They have bread, pastry and wheat flour everywhere. I peeked into the kitchen and I was horrified. Completely unsafe for celiacs.
“Gluten-free” labeled items are made on the same equipment and in the same kitchen as gluten. I got sick every time I ate them.
Stick to the salad bar. The salmon there is usually very good, and at the salad bar pricing, quite a good deal. Avoid the beets and sweet potatoes, as they are hard, leathery and undercooked. I wouldn’t dare eat prepared foods here. They make their “gluten-free” things on the same equipment as gluten-containing things. The sandwich bar was scary. I watched them hold wheat bread over the sandwich fixings, spread stuff on with the knife that lives in the spread, pile the toppings on with crumbs dropping down. Yikes. I peeked into the kitchen and it looked every bit as scary. There was a quiche on the work area I saw with crumbs every which way. Flatware sits bowl, blade and tines down in a mini bucket on the table that has crumbs in the bottom. Definitely no consciousness here about sensitive celiacs. Savoy's "gluten-free" offerings are for those for whom the gluten-free lifestyle is a choice. My daughter isn't sensitive at all. She usually has to actually eat something made with wheat to get sick. She was massively ill after eating a Savoy deli sandwich and a corn muffin made in Savoy's kitchen. They also use bread from our daily bread, which is made in the same facility as all their gluten-containing breads.

The food is amazing!, but the GF food is next to non GF (in bakery case, hot case and deli) lack of cross contamination precautions :(
Excellent food & staff. Tons of choices & they’re savvy on safety.

Excellent food had the Gibraltar sandwich with the white GF bread. Staff very aware and vigilant on the celiac needs. Highly recommend.
Yes
Very knowledgeable staff. Menu easy to navigate and items in display cases clearly marked. Staff knowledgeable and helpful. Food was fantastic! Also had some GF vegan options.

Turkey fritters are AMAZING!!! Lots of DF/GF options, but signs do say beware of cross-contamination. A great choice with tons of variety and options if not that sensitive.
Terrific cafe. Quality ingredients and helpful staff. Plenty of. GF options from fresh baked sweets to pancakes, French toast... GF bread available for sandwiches.
Told they wipe down griddle before cooking. Great spot!
Lots of options and helpful staff

We have been coming here for a few years now every time we come to SB. The GF breakfast options are amazing as well as their baked goods. I have Celiac and very sensitive. I've never had any issues. I think over the years the employees have gotten better with understanding cross contamination, Celiac and GF sensitivity/intolerance issues.
Yes
The food is here is very fresh and delicious. I got a pancake with a veggie scramble. Has a great salad bar here too. Many gluten free options. Oh can have breakfast l. Lunch, or dinner here.

Breakfast burrito in a bowl is my go to order!
Great menu focusing on fresh, organic produce. Our daughter loved the gluten free French toast. Great coffee too. Highly recommend.

Gluten free flapjacks with berries , just lovely!
The staff is fantastic, the food is fantastic, and I felt totally safe eating here! I'm a severe Celiac (1 crumb and I'm done), so I got the stuff at the front of the window, but they were super knowledgeable, so I wouldn't feel bad about getting something from the back next time.
Yes
Although there were many gf options, cross-contamination was definitely an issue. GF dishes sitting next to non GF foods. Seeing the flakey regular quiche crusts on an open shelf above GF dishes was when I knew this place didn't take celiacs seriously. Very disappointed.

Loved it so much we came back again the next day! The gf French toast and the pancakes are both delicious
Yes
Delicious French Toast!
I had the best gf french toast served with fresh berries. Delicious! My husband had the same except not gf. They also have a lot of baked gf treats that they make there. The place seems to be very sensitive to people that are gf. Wish we would have had time to eat here for another meal because would have loved to try a sandwich. Next time we are in town will go back!

Fantastic food!!! A walk up to the counter and order, deli style place. This place has a salad bar, a soup station with four daily soups, a walk up counter with hot foods and sandwiches. Everything is labeled and indicates if gluten free and/or dairy free. Probably 80% of the items were gluten free. Also has a large assortment of gf bakery items, I had a delicious gf lemon poppyseed bar. For lunch, turkey fritters (guy feori made these on the food channel at this location, but I didn't hold it against them), sweet potato au gratin and one of dozen salads in the cold case. There is something for everyone here. Delish!

Wow wow wow. THIS FOOD IS SO GOOD!!!!!!!! It's pricey but WELL worth it! I don't eat dairy or gluten, and had so so so many delicious and healthy options to choose from. If I lived in SB, I would be here allllll the time.
We had the turkey fritter (my absolute favorite, so flavorful and moist), beef osso bucco (tender meat and veggies, just a little on the salty side), black rice salad (with sweet potatoes!), and strawberry spinach salad (perfect in between of crisp and wilted). Everything was so flavorful it was hard to slow down. And the tea (blueberry roibos) was spectacular and smooth.
And for dessert - paleo, vegan, gluten free and sugar free options galore! And the drink selection 😳wines, teas, coffees, juices, milks, kombuchas, sodas... seriously more options than I could possibly look at.
And to top it off, everyone was incredibly nice, welcoming and helpful. Plus an awesome vibe. I would probably drive up from Long Beach just to eat here :)

One of the best breakfasts we've ever eaten. Gluten-free bread and flapjacks, and the corn tortillas in huevos rancheros are also gluten-free. Lots of veg and vegan options too.
Ordered the GF French toast on 2 separate occasions and both times was served regular French toast. Luckily the server noticed before I took a bite. Not safe if you must eat gluten free.

Lots of gf options and baked goods, and it was delicious. I had the gf French toast and it was delightful!

Excellent gluten free bread. The citrus dipped French toast was amazing. Haven't had French toast since I found out I was celiac. Yummmmmmm

Lots of gluten free options, very educated, friendly, and helpful staff! I am a very sensitive Celiac and have never gotten sick eating here! Their gfree bread is amazing, their Chicken Marsala is a favorite and my son loves their Turkey Fritters... I wouldn't hesitate to eat here... even had one of their mocha chocolate brownies (well, I got one bite ,my son tore though it like a monkey on a cupcake) delish!!! highly recommend. I find it is very Celiac Friendly.
They had a dome with cookies under it & the sign said gluten free. My son wanted one but as I inquired I learned that only ONE of those cookies was gluten free. I explained that the gluten free cookies can't be touching gluten filled cookies & she just laughed at me& shrugged. Even the workers behind the counters appeared to have no knowledge of cross contamination. We did not eat here.

I'm here now, visiting from AZ. The staff is friendly, all the food I see looks tempting, with fresh, quality ingredients. The gluten free pancakes with berries are fantastic. Pleasant, clean cafe on a nice, quiet street buy close to the action. 5 Stars easily.
My celiac son loves their gluten free pancakes. Many other gluten free options. I, a vegan, love the salad bar. Best salad bar in town!
Excellent food with a variety of choices. Staff is very friendly. Great environment. How did I miss this before?

Love the taste and the variety of food here! I especially love that I can just open the menu and order (they can make virtually any item GF!), what a luxury THAT is! I am highly sensitive to cross-contamination and have never been sick in the dozens of times I've eaten at Savoy.
Wonderful food, awesome options, can't wait to go back!

Lots of great gluten-free options. Excellent salad, side and entree choices. Food was delicious! Paleo salted caramel brownie was very good. I don't have celiac so I don't have to worry about cross contamination as much, but things are in the same deli cases so it would be possible.

Very delicious sandwich and yummy kale salad! Did not get sick! A bit pricey but delicious! They also have great pastries too.
