This was a tasty fun place. Went on a Saturday and was busy with a 20 minute wait. Lots of upbeat music. The servers were friendly and helpful with the Gluten free info. I had an omelet and GF order of upside down pineapple pancakes and hash browns. Was very good. Unfortunately my wife and I both had to hit the bathroom within a half hour after eating there. She has no gluten issues but I do. IDK, maybe related maybe not.
The food is great but it's NOT celiac friendly. As a gluten sensitive individual, I've had cross contamination issues here, I can only imagine how bad it'd be if I had Celiac.
They don't have a separate preparation area or separate pans etc for cooking the gluten free food.the staff told me this and said if you have a strong reaction to gluten to reconsider.it's great that they do gluten free but it's not safe for celiacs because of the risk of cross contamination.
we tried to get in here on a Sunday at noon and it was impossible. they were so packed that they told us it would be a 75min wait til we could get a table. we went somewhere else because I was really hungry. today being a Tuesday I decided to try again and just take my work lunch there with a friend. the staff seemed busy, but decently attentive. I got the pancake flight with strawberry rhubarb, nuttella banana, and pineapple upside down pancakes and it was so amazing. we also shared a side of bacon and hash browns, which were both really good as well (they seasoned the hash browns perfectly). at $20 for two people, you can't beat this place! especially for a gf person like me. want to go back soon!
They can make anything on the menu gluten free. Even their amazing pancakes! As someone who loves breakfast, this place quickly became my favorite spot once I was diagnosed.
This was the best gluten free place I have ever been. It has everything you could ever want for breakfast esp as a gluten free person and it taste great. The serving sizes were large, and great deals for the price. The staff was super friendly and the atmosphere equally amazing. Hope I get to go again next time we are in town.
Fabulous restaurant. So many choices. I ended up getting the breakfast tacos (corn tortillas) and one gf pineapple upside down pancake. Both very tasty although I thought the tacos were better. Waiter did warn of gluten/flour in the kitchen. However I'm extremely sensitive and did not get sick.
WOW! Hands down the best breakfast restaurant I've ever been to. We are both Celiac and I am normally very sceptical of any eatery I'm not familiar with. But based on the reviews, I was willing to risk it. After talking to the waiter I felt comfortable enough to try. And how happy I am that I did. Highly recommended.
Gluten-free possibilities abound at this delightful sunny-side-up brunch spot, with almost any menu item available as a GF option. Just let your server know and your choices will be happily accommodated. Their online menu doesn't include this information but it's true! As with most restaurants, cross-contamination can happen but the staff promises to keep things as GF as possible. Like me, you've likely discovered it's a matter of degree in determining whether to dine out here or elsewhere. I had no issue with the food here even though I'm highly sensitive. First time in 8 years that I've had French toast that exceeded my expectations. Yes! The grilled cheese on GF bread with tomato soup and GF blueberry Danish pancake with lemon creme filling are recommended as well for those looking for GF comfort foods that aren't too heavy or sugary. Absolutely delicious food, knowledgable service, and modern vintage diner decor make Snooze AM Eatery a most welcome addition to Austin's ever expanding array of GF-friendly restaurants.
Good food and lots of it! I asked all my usual questions (prep area, change gloves, how they reduced risk of cross contact, and so many more) and both the hostess and server were quite knowledgeable. I felt very safe eating there. All that AND a cup of coffee while waiting for a table! Next time, we will call ahead to save the 30 minute wait. Seems they are always busy and that was a short time. I haven't been out for breakfast in years. A wonderful experience!!
Lots of options for celiac ' s, including all flavors of pancakes and waffle option, hot chocolate, and teas!
My family of 6 typically eats at the Snooze locations in Boulder and Denver and never have a problem. Today, we chose to drive to Ft Collins and decided to try Snooze there. My 5 year old and I are the only two in the family with Celiac and we both became incredibly sick from eating here. (We both had the "GF" pancakes) It is our spring break and this isn't a fun way to spend our vacation.
Fantastic food, no sickness. SLOOOOOOWWWW service at brunch time.
Almost too good to be true GF pancakes! Came here numerous times with 3 celiacs and no one's had an issue. Only time there's no wait seems to be 1-3PM Mon-Thurs (closes at 3PM). The 2-person tables in back are awkwardly close to each other and you'll be put there if you only have 2 and it's busy.
Had an amazing breakfast here! I had a spicy chai latte, it was the best! They can make drinks with almond or soy, I ordered a hot chocolate with almond milk for my son- yummy! I love eggs Benedict and hadn't had them in awhile so I tried their chilaquiles benedict, OMG! Soooo good, the service was great, our waiter said they were the mecca of gluten free and can make anything gluten free except the gravy and pot pie. I had so many options here :)
The food was tasty, but there's a reason the website and menu doesn't stress GF options. Wife and son are both Celiac. Server was honest enough to admit that kitchen put gluten (+) pancake on son's plate. Both of them have had severe flares for past 2 days. Don't go if truly sensitive, the cross-contamination is bad.
A phenomenal gluten free menu! The WHOLE menu except for 1 item can be made gluten free friendly. And at no extra charge. The prices are great and the creative menu keeps me coming back for more! They do make the pancakes on the same grill as the regular pancakes but they clean it for allergies. I usually get the tacos because I get nervous eating off the same grill because I'm highly sensitive but my other celiac friend gets the pancakes all the time and loves them. So maybe I'll have to try!
The food tasted amazing but I am a celiac and I informed them of this fact and asked for a separate cooking surface for my pancakes and they did not accommodate. I ended up getting violently ill. If you are a celiac like me then I warn you against the shared cooking surface.
Cute retro decor, friendly and warm service, great selection of breakfast drinks to include creative mixed drinks beyond the traditional mimosa. The gluten free selection is impressive, breads and pancakes of any flavor. I was very excited to enjoy some pancakes and went with 1 traditional and 1 blueberry. They were yummy, but the base batter seemed to miss that something special to push it over the top to 5 stars. My gluten full husband enjoyed his breakfast. We would come again if ever back in the area. Well worth the visit!
I really wanted to love this place. The food was actually delicious. However, even though I discussed my gluten allergy with the staff and they noted it on the order, I still got glutened. The menu does have a standard disclosure for food in contact with gluten and the possibility for cross contamination, but I figured that with the raving reviews and how comfortable the waitress seemed with GF, that I would be OK. I was Not. So sad.
I had a pancake flight it was great! Server was knowledgeable about Celiac. They do clean off the grill to make the food but it is not a dedicated kitchen. Also, while they have gf bread for toast it's put in the sabe toaster as the other bread so I did not eat that! So far no reaction!
They were busy but they always are. I had gluten free Apple pancakes. they tasted decent a little bland. I got super sick. I'm not crazy sensitive I have celiacs but don't have a ton of trouble eating out. This was my first time at snooze. No idea what happened maybe they were to busy to be careful. But I got super sick. I won't be back :( bummer
Long wait but worth it (they'll text you when your tables ready, so go explore). Had the O.M.G. French toast - totally delicious! Not as much of a sugar fest as it sounds (my husband got the gluten-y pot pie and was jealous of my dish) We also got a GF pineapple upside down pancake, it was fluffy and so yummy. Think I'd get a more fun drink next time, they have a few to choose from.
