Fantastic food in a city that had been an absolute wasteland when it came to gluten free eating. Three places reacted as if they had never heard of celiac disease or of gluten free choices. Ted's served a scrumptious bacon cheeseburger on really good gf bun. Having French fries like a regular person was nice too. I recommend it highly.
Was on vacation and saw this restaurant on my app. I loved that there was a gluten free menu. Waiter recommended the Bison. I had the Bison burger on gluten free bun and hand cut French fries and it was terrific! Can't wait to got to this restaurant in another city! I would recommend to celiacs!
Very good. My gf is gluten-free and she loved it. Would highly recommend. Wide variety of options too.
Gluten free menu. Great burgers with gf buns and gf fries
Fantastic gluten free meal! I ordered the bacon cheeseburger with gluten free bun and fresh cut fries. Best gluten free burger I have had in a long time!
I didn't get sick, that was awesome. The bun wasn't terrific but it wasn't horrible and the bison burger has great flavor and the fries were yummy.
They have a separate menu so that the server knows if you have an allergy. The server was aware of gluten allergy, but not truly understanding of everything I could and could not have. He was however, very sweet! I got Teds bacon cheeseburger and it was amazing!!!!!!!!!!! The food was exceptional and their hand cut fries were awesome! It's a great atmosphere, and wonderful service.
I had the Avalon burger without the gluten free bun. I didn't feel like bread. I had the sweet potato on the side. Did not get ill. The bison burger was delicious.
very knowledgeable staff, lots of great options and an awesome burger and fries.
Excellent service with a knowledge staff. I had a delicious burger on a gluten free bun!!!! Great quality and service. Highly recommend!
Yes they have a GF menu. But the service was questionable and it took 40 minutes to get three burgers. And it wasn't busy.
Good menu, more options than many places. Staff was very knowledgeable at both the downtown Atlanta and Crystal City locations. During one visit, my burger came with a bun and the waitress immediately took it back and without my saying a thing she insured me a new burger would be grilled. The buffalo burgers are fantastic!
Limited GF menu, mostly steaks and hamburgers sans bun. My bunless burger was quite good, though. They used to have a dedicated fryer but I don't see fries on the menu now.
good options because you can order nearly any burger, but beware of the buns if you have a soy allergy. Easier to just order burgers without the bun. I had issues ordering and receiving a salad without my allergens, and the waitress was not very educated or cooperative. Not worth the stress to try again.
My food and waiter was absolutely amazing. They accidentally flipped my friend and my sides and so they immediately remade my burger and apologized, but the food was worth the wait. The fries and chips were both amazing as well.
Nice cozy environment...great food! This was my first visit. They GF menu has many choices. I hand the Bison KC Strip Steak, which was perfectly cooked. Good vegies and baked potato. I didn't encounter any problems ordering GF, the staff seemed accustomed to serving our needs. If you have the chance to eat at a TMG don't miss it!! June 20, 2016 I eat here at least once each time I come to Atlanta because it is SO good!! My last visit I had the Ted's Bacon Cheese burger, bison, on a GF bun and with GF fries. This is the 2nd time I've had this item and REALLY enjoyed it the first time because of the flavor and juiciness of the burger.. The order took longer this time because the first time my meal was made it wasn't GF...thank you Emily, our waitress, for pointing that out the the chef!!! Love the pickles...ask for more if you do as well. When my appetite is bigger I go for one of their steaks. For me Ted's is one place I have no concerns about getting a contaminated meal.
Phenomenal food!!! Truly wonderful gf bun!! The Canyon Creek Burger was what I ordered and was by far the best burger I've had in all my life! Staff very knowledgable and helpful! Great place to go! The decor is very nice and feels like a place you can get dressed up for a nice even out or show up in jeans and a ponytail. We will be back!!
This was a great place for lunch. The waiter was great at explaining the options for my wife and the manager came over and reassured us that the fries were cooked in a separate fryer and the order was flagged as a gluten free order. I highly recommend any of these restaurants!
If you truly have a gluten allergy PLEASE be careful with gluten free menus. Although they have one they are not aware of cross contamination and cook their fries in the same fryers that have gluten products. The burgers also are prepared in the same area as other gluten products. I was okay when I ordered the baked potato and hamburger and asked for all new cooking utensils in the back for cooking but I'm not going to be risking it anymore.
Decided on here since we are from out of town and it was recommended on my gluten free app. So glad we did! The restaurant is beautiful. Our server was extremely pleasant. It was her first night serving alone, so she had a few mistakes, but she's learning :) she still did a fantastic job, in my opinion. I can't remember for the life of me the name of the burger I ordered, but it was beef and had gruyere cheese, blue cheese, carmalized onions, garlic aoili, and arugula. It was out of this world! The burger was so flavorful and juicy. Probably one of the best burgers I've ever had. The gluten free bun was pretty amazing too! Their fries were okay. It was a great dinner!
Going here was a great experience! Very knowledgable waitress who asked immediately about the severity of my allergy when I requested a GF menu. I told her I am very sensitive and she assured me the food would be safe. I got the 'skinny dip' burger, it was bunless (they do have GF buns if you want one) with avacado and it came with kale salad and I added the most amazing sweet potatoe as a side! And the best part is that I felt great after!
Bread didn't even seem gluten free it was so good!!
Went here with a few friends for dinner. Was handed GF menu and assured that every item on the menu was prepared in a distinct GF environment including the fried items (chips and fries). Ate the Big Sky salad and had the homemade chips, all off the GF menu. Half hour later, sicker than a dog. Would not recommend, there is definetly a lack of communication between waiters and cooks, or maybe they just don't care about cross contamination... Disappointing after thinking I finally found a place that ensured food and fried food was celiac friendly on Front street in Hartford.
While they do have a gluten free menu, they have offering on their that are not celiac safe (fries that are not made in a dedicated fryer). When I ordered my salad and was clear that I had celiac disease, the waitress assured me it would be fine. When it came, it had a hunk of bread that had fallen into it that I discovered after taking several bites. They swapped it out for a fresh one, but never apologized and did nothing to assure me the next one would be safe.
Had a great experience. Highly allergic and staff was knowledgable and they had GF menu. Best salmon and broccoli I've had in a long time.
Me and DH's steak dinners came out cold. I was excited to try GF steak salad but it was just plain lettuce, some cucumber, 2 slices of tomato, and cold steak with a tiny drizzle of dressing. Very disappointed. It took over an hour for dinner. Several tables around us sent dinner back. The kids dinners were good though and the only saving grace of the night was that the restaurant gave the kids wiki stix to keep them busy while we waited. Will not go back again, and would not recommend.
I have been to Ted's 4 times over the last 3 months. 2 times I have ordered off of the gluten free menu and had my food come out with obvious gluten. I'm not a person to send food back but had to in these cases. One salad with croutons and one bun less burger with onion straws on top of it. No apologizes offered, just an eye roll and a 15 minute wait while my husband's food sat and got cold. I'm over Ted's.
After getting sick at a few restaurants I was nervous to eat out again. For me, gluten and dairy cause a lot of pain and gut issues that I've delt with since I was a child, I've only recently figured out it was gluten and dairy. I read the reviews about Ted's and decided to give it a try. Before we were seated I asked for the gluten-free menu. The server was great and understood my concerns. I ordered the bison filet, sweet potato no butter and the kale salad with no corn salsa or dressing but I asked for olive oil. The food was absolutely fantastic and I indeed felt I could trust the cookstaff. As my friend and I were enjoying our meal the owner came by and asked how everything was, genuinely concerned since I ordered the "special request". I told him my situation and how I read that Ted's has a separate fryer and such. He said yes and that they make sure my kind of meal is done right. Wow! I will absolutely come back. It's now four hours since the meal and I feel great. I appreciated finding a place that understands how serious our requests are. Thank you Ted's in Alexandria, VA, Old Town
