Absolutely delicious cajun inspired food! Was so excited to have gumbo for the first time in over 25 years. The fried green tomatoes were out of this world! Most of the menu is GF and the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!

We ate at the Bistro at Shucksan tonight. I can’t tell you how excited I am to live only 5 min away from this place!!! The waitress told me I came to the right place when I told her I have celiac. EVERYTHING on the menu is gluten free or can be made gluten free!!! I believe the chef himself has Celiac, so this should give you some confidence. The food was amazing and the view!!! Holy moly! What a hidden gem!!! The happy hour menu was also on point! Good prices for decent portions. I also will say my really particular 80 year old father came with us and said it was the best restaurant he’s ever been to in Bellingham. Now that’s a compliment! 😆 Enjoy!!!

We drove up from Everett to try out this bistro based on google reviews and the chef’s post on this app.
The fried green tomatoes are delicious and worth the drive.
The stock Evasion’s blonde ale; it was my first time trying this brewery, and it was good beer.
We both ordered sandwiches; their gluten free bread options are well chosen.
We told the server I was celiac; he said anything on the menu was available gluten free.
Three items on the menu were out of stock.
The chef (who’s gluten free himself) visited with us and said that he only stocked regular bread due to the location on the golf course; otherwise the restaurant would be entirely gluten free.
As a result, we had compete confidence eating the fried items, desserts, etc., without needing to ask about cross contamination procedures for each item.
Ordering an appetizer, 2 meals, one dessert and four drinks ran us $100 before the tip for lunch. We plan to eat here again.

I’m biased but I think this is very well executed Southern farm to table cuisine with authentic Cajun and Creole dishes. The chef(myself is basically Celiac) so it’s very important how we handle gluten free.
